As I recall, there were some disagreements / disputes, between him and few other clan members. Also there was a woman or a new girlfriend he needed to spend time with. Don't quote me on this please. I got this information as third hand at the very best!? :-) Oh and he was I believe the best leader I've had the pleasure to serve under.

18:09 If you wanted to slow him down, either to board or take advantage of your superior firepower, it's easier to go full sails, brace them windward (so to starboard in this case) and leave staysails on, that way you reduce your thrust to 0 (cause square sails push forward, and staysails push backward, negating the effect and both adding to wind shadow), halting yourself and the target because of the wind shadow, then you micromanage a bit to stay totally still at a 90° degree angle relative to the wind with the AI directly downwind, AI can't even turn away from you if you do it right because wind pushes you towards them laterally, so their stern can't step out to do the turn, and their foresails don't have enough power to turn on their own 21:53 you can't fire deck guns nor be fired upon if the difference in number of decks exceeds 1, so you can if you have 4 decks vs 3 (santa ana vs inger) but you can't agaisnt a USS with a santa ana, you could however with a redoutable Also it's easier if you abuse the AI input reading, you can attack when timer is over 7 seconds (because it takes 7 seconds to be able to switch) then in the last second switch to muskets, AI will defend, you musket, you get a lot of kills, AI gets none because defend cannot kill any non melee attack, just remember skills have 3 turn cooldown If you build your ships for boarding... 3rd rates will typically be the best to board 4ths (PvE) as they can keep up maneuverability and speed wise to catch them fast, win boarding in 5 turns, 2nd and 1sts both can win in 3, fully PvE board built l'ocean / santi can in 2 I think, but they take forever to reach them so I use those to board 3rd-1st rates only

@@ds4629 rank of enemy main ship captain, for example for 4th rates it'll be commodore I think, any elite (skull) enemy will be admiral (or vice admiral for their fleet) red means your BR is similar or inferior to theirs so the fight could get tough (mostly an aid for new players) blue means you should have an easy fight based on your fleet BR and enemy fleet BR, and by that I mean your personal BR and your personal fleet, not your group, that's why POV saw a red banner while tagging a fleet of 4ths, because despite being on a santa ana (400BR cause 1st rate) and going against a USS (150BR cause 4th) personal fleet has 0 members, bringing BR to 400, enemy fleet has another 3 4ths, bringing BR to 600 thus higher than player and labeled as hard, tho anyone on a 1st rate should be able to easily deal with like 8 AI 4ths, honestly don't even pay attention to it
@@johjoh9270 thanks for explaining. I came back to the game yesterday after more then 1 year and i went up against an implacable with my Christian and i had to run. It was no skull but it had a red banner when I went in. I had no clue what was going on.
@@ds4629 Huh, was that impla alone? don't think it should have been red then :S but who knows honestly, once you progress past 5ths/4ths those banners are no longer a good reference IMO, best to just ask someone in your guild before tagging :S

@@BconBee Oh, in that case I recommend you stay with RELIC. Just check their online population and ours (NINE) we have 30 members on line as of now. RELIC has 70 members online. By far they are the larger clan. We are friendly with them and help each other in Flag Plants and Port Battles... :-)

What do the banners with roman numerals mean on the campaign map?
I asked my clan your question, did not get an answer yet. Can you be more specific, as to where you've seen it? Assuming it was in the Battle Map..
@@JankoG- there is a banner on the enemy AI ships. It's a red flag with a roman numeral. Is it supposed to represent their level?
