Re the window issue. I've had this on a previous car and now my p3 v70. I solved it by spraying some 3-IN-ONE silicone down into the window mechanism. With the window down I used the little straw attachment and inserted it down past the glass and sprayed a short burst in 3 or 4 positions along the edge of the window. I also sprayed the channel the glass runs in. After spraying I then ran the window up and down several times to help spread the lubricant around. Then of course a good clean of the glass with some window cleaner. The window has behaved perfectly for the past few weeks. A cheap fix that certainly makes a big difference by removing a very annoying problem. Cheers, Adam.

Electronic hand brake can be an issue on Tiptronics if not regularly used. Also the steering rack and power steering pump. There was an issue on 2010 models where the hoses broke down internally.

Leaking windscreen?...Easy fix. Run a bead of black silicone caulk across the top edge of the windscreen, and voila! No more leaks. Now's a good time to clean your sunroof drain tubes too. Run a 24" piece of weed whip line down each of the two holes to clean them out.

those side mirror caps are a problem as well. mine fell off while driving and didnt notice so i could not find it. Had to order a new one and get it painted. 285$ unless you want a matte black one.. Volvo guy in Georgia U.S. said just super glue them on and thats what i did.

On my 2008 V70 SE I have the same wheels, but 7 spoke and they look just like yours. A guy near here does an amazing total refurb of all wheels for around £250, but I'm thinking of something a bit flashier down the line.
Thankfully my carpets are nice and dry even after heavy rain but i keep an eye on them. Cleaned out both rain drains from the bottom of the windscreen to the ground... choked with dead leaves. A kettle full of boiling water flushed them out and I check the run-off everytime I wash the car.
The windscreen HAS had a mastic repair somewhere down the line though, along the top edge where VOLVO forgot to put a seal :(
I've already had a issue with the EPB and now frightened to touch that button :| and SWIRL FLAP and EGR failures have been firmly planted in my head since buying the car and finding out about these issues.
Positive notes.... the D5 is a super engine and pulls like a train. and the bodywork is so good that people don't believe the car is 13 yrs old. Comfort and interior are super too, as is styling.
Every car has their pros and cons but I think the P3 models have many more pros.. just maintain them properly.
Looking fwd to your following videos as always.

It's really sounding like the only reason people say these are "reliable" is because their owners are typically the kinds of people who have the time and money to do near constant maintenence on them.

I've owned my 2007 S80 for over 10 years. Blower HVAC motor makes some noise at some speeds. That is all the issues I've experienced except for routine maintenance, tires, fluid changes, brakes, battery. This is solid reliable auto. I have not experienced any of the other issues identified in this video.

Had my screen replaced under insurance. £75 excess. Replaced the Volvo badge from EBay. Cheap as chips.
DPF. As you say, give it a good run, blast the engine up to 4000 revs regularly.
Auto transmission fluid. I have a 2011 36000 mile car. Just changed the fluid. Makes sense after 12 years!

Just had my windscreen rebonded by a local windscreen company for £144,so not a big issue really. They completely removed the screen, rebonded and refitted.

Dealer in NY usa wanted to change power steering fluid with flush on my 2012 s80 3.2 . Car only has 35,000 miles. According to owners manual it never needs to be done. It must however be between min and max Mark's on dipstick. I will hold off on that. I could see if the car was 18 years old with 150,000 miles. Then it would make better sense. The steering fluid doesn't have a critical time expiration like oil, gas, or tires. They also wanted to change air filter. I had that done at 32,000 miles, and I passed up on that as well. I only drove 3,000 miles since last time air filter was changed. I may consider going beyond 37,000 miles with same air filter. Volvo s80 manual calls for changing it at 37000 miles. A few months ago I had front right speed sensor changed. Issue came up on dash. January 2023 I had windshield repaired due to water droplets getting inside of windshield. Glad I caught it in time. No mildew or flooding thankfully. Videos posted here by driveline highlighted that issue. A body shop I use said I would have to wet sand to remove two spots on roof where glass place accidentally got excess glue when rebonding glass. One could hardly tell. Body shop said that glass place put slight bend in molding on one side right side when removing it. Glass place says its held in with clips. Body shop says whole right molding needs to be replaced if I wanted. Glass place says it's ok. I'll see. It's a little loose towards the top. Glass place says it wont affect water, that molding is just for show. Part number I think is 31214493 I think. I have to check.

Just bought a "09 s80 t6, (american) has the B6304T2. Replacing tires, spark plugs, coil packs and doing a complete fluid flush soon. So far my biggest issue is the car thinks the driver door is open all the time.

I've got an 09 S80 V8, 155,000 KMS and it seems I've just done the Differential & the Active on Demand Coupling 🙁
Volvo in Australia wanted $15,000 to Replace with New.
But the guy who Rebuilt my Transmission, also Rebuilds Diffs, so he's having a crack at that.
The Coupling..? Ahhhh no idea yet...goes in 1st March...but I'm open to a New replacement 🙁
    Am shattered.

Changing oil/better fuel won’t ever prevent EGR getting dirty. Nothing stops this. It’s nature is to recirculate unburnt fuel which is essentially oil.

I know there was a 2.0 5cyl diesel D5204t engine, I think called a D3 & D4, for a while, from 2010 & 2011 I think. It was in the XC70 too I believe. Does anybody know if they were available in Ireland & the UK? And how reliable were they? It'll be my next car hopefully.

I have about 200k mile p3 v70. It broke a wire in a rear door wiring loom that connects the body to the door, but this maybe issue in all cars. A poor connection in electric rear hatch wiring, had to take out a trim piece near the hatch and jiggle the connectors. Shaky idle when engine was warm, but this was fixed with a software at a dealer and it was something about resetting injector adaptive values. On higher mileage volvo, especially on diesels some new engine mounts smoothes the car right up if they havent been done.
