    I consider smallies in the creek/stream as completely different species from the one in lake or pond. They fight way more vigorous!!

      I agree! I think the current of the creek/river makes them stronger and fight better. Love me some smallies!!

      Oh for sure! Same for the largemouth and sunfish. That oxygen-rich water seems to give them more energy or something.

    I caught 7 (some very) small Bass in a pond near Ocala, Florida yesterday on a $12 "tenkara" yellow bamboo telescopic rod using "tenkara" flies. So much fun.
    If they're hungry, they'll bite.

      What line combo did you use?

    • @secretweaponevan

      @@adams13f It gets more important the farther you get from the rod tip. I used Tenkara USA #3.5 Level line (fluorocarbon) tied to #6 nylon tippet. It would be best to use fluoro tippet as it has almost EXACTLY the same refraction index as fluoro in the water. It is almost 100% invisible to fish.

    • @TrailsNTrout
      @TrailsNTrout  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a bunch! I used only dry flies on this trip, none of them sink below the surface

    First time I’ve seen a tenkara vid where they actually showed what fly they were using. Usually they only name the rod. Never the lines or flies

    Black bass ARE sunfish…every last one of them.
