Didn’t guess which side was Estee Lauder, but at the end I liked more the left side( your left) . Much more smoother and luminous. I never tried Dior, but I’m in love with Estée Lauder, and I will never change it, because I spent a lot of money on wrong foundation, so I’m over it.Double Wear is the best. I used when I had oily skin, and I use it now when I have more mature and dry patches, and worked beautifully in all the situation.
The Dior looked more natural as your natural oils came through and instantly that side looked less textured. However p,it definitely oxides right away. The double wear was gave your skin more texture,but it didn’t oxidize and your contour and highlight was stronger. Those are my initial thoughts! Both sides still held up,except for the oxidation I think the Dior was better! Cheers x
I was able to tell which side is which. I personally own Dior but the Forever one so I kinda suspect what finish it will be. Very very slightly, I still prefer the Dior. The EL seems tad dry. But yes both are good for long wear and beautiful finish. Nice video ! 👍

Now I'm a girl who loved a full coverage heavy beat, but for some reason estee lauder make my skin look cakey and grannyish lol. Persoanlly I prefer Dior. It feels lighter on my face and gives me that full coverage. I noticed that Dior photographs better.
I have both and am so excited that you did this comparison. I also have combo skin but am quite a bit older than you -- 55 -- so foundation is much less forgiving on my skin. For me, the DW looks fantastic when I first apply but as the day goes on it gets dry looking and really shows texture on my skin, but with minimal oil break through. The Dior goes on like a dream and is so incredibly smooth on my skin. I do get a bit more oil break through, but don't get the dryness and texture like with the DW (which is interesting because alcohol is the 3rd ingredient in the Dior, but is not in the DW). I think the DW looks heavier overall, and I did guess the correct sides of your face! So for my older skin I think the Dior is a better choice. I think the real test, though, will be how it wears in July -- I live in Florida and the heat and humidity kill my foundation! How do you think these two compare to the new Bobbi Brown long wear foundation? Love your videos!

I love my Dior Forever and have been debating on the new one. And you sold me, I am going to order today. I am glad we wear the same shade in EL because I now know what shade to get in Dior. I am LOVING your eye look. It is beautiful.. Love you lady ! !
I got it right hehe! I think the Dior side looks more soft and smoothing and I preferred that side of your face. Seeing your first review of the Dior made me buy it instantly and I personally love it minus the shade range, the lightest is a little too dark and too pink for me during the winter. EL was my holy grail til the Dior, I fell in love. But now I have a new holy grail that is a mixture of the two!!! Best of both worlds! The Tarte Shape Tape Matte Foundation is a mixture of the Dior and the EL! It has the smoothness/softness of the Dior but the longevity and shade range of the EL.
Wow, the foundation looks great on both sides even after a full day. I think I’m going to try the ELDW though...I’ve used a couple Dior foundations and they tend to make me a little dry by the end of the day. On a separate note, your eye make is gorgeous...a Pat McGrath palette may be in my future! 💄💋💄💋

I agree. Nothing has ever replaced or been comparable to the double wear until I tried the dior aswell. I thought the fenty one would be good but it broke down on me quick.

Hi Mel!! Straight off the bat I preferred the right side (your left, the ELDW side) because of the finish. The otherside looked super matte. Also, there was a hair difference in shade... the ELDW side looked brighter!
Oh gosh!! Just skimmed the comments... ppl r loving the dior. I do have to say the ELDW did not appear heavier imo.... so I'm wondering if it's just people's perception of doublewear. To me it just looked brighter and less matte on initial application. You know I just recently purchased ELDW after years of being scared off by the "cakey" perception. Not the case. I love sheering it out with the sponge and using a super dewy primer!! Hope all I well. I know I've been MIA! But my mat leave ended and I'm back at work!!!

When you were first putting it on I thought I liked the Dior side better but once you got everything on I couldn't really tell the difference. I thought the Estee Lauder looked like heavier coverage but you said the exact opposite lol. I would agree the Estee Lauder looks slightly dewier before you powdered, the Dior looks more velvety. Seems like at the end of the day the wearing is pretty even. They both look pretty awesome!

The Estee side the flat matte and can look a little dry, lasts all day and not as silky, so that being said I choose Dior especially for thoss special events or just when you want that glamous look and will use EL for work and need that extra double wear power.♥️⚘😘

Looking at this 6 yrs later. I was then working in cosmetics and put both foundations on clients on a daily basis. I really hated Double wear though it had a loyal following. Clients under 40 with oily skin needing full coverage fared better but older clients it was way too heavy, caked and made skin look dull. Dior I found needed less product and much lighter on the skin, didn’t have that dull look. But colour range very restricted. But the choice Dior every time.

I own both of them and I could immediately tell which one was which the moment you started applying them. They are pretty similar, but for me Dior Undercover is miles ahead of the EL, both as product and as a brand.

ELDW looks better; smile line (nasolabial) is more obvious on the Dior side... checked the begin of the vid and it wasn't worse on that side from the beginning. I can only assume that the ELDW looks smoother and younger. Thank you VERY much for this upload as I was doubting to buy the Dior one. I am a faithful user of ELDS and after this, I will stay with it. Nice review!
I got it right. I noticed the DW was dryer looking on the skin and I have experienced it. Both look great still and I love DW and was looking into the Dior one for the wedding. Just worried about the sweating it off since it’s going to be in Hawaii.
Wow! They both looked great, I could see a little flake wear the Estée Lauder was, but I know retin a was the culprit. First time I tried the dior I used too faced matte primer and it was waaay too matte, I'll try it with my Sisley. I'm sure I'll love it better that way! Great foundation showdown! 👍🏼👍🏼
I have combination skin type with t zone oily and others zone are normal type..so i use ELDW only at t zone and dior forever for cheeks area. it's work amazing, keep shine away from ur t zone for 12 hours and dewy finish for my cheeks (no need for highlighter).just make sure both have same color matching ur skin...
I agree with Puffin, I preferred that side without being entirely sure I could explain why. Maybe it's different in real life but on camera the other side looked a teeny, tiny bit textured whereas the Estée Lauder side was kind of blurred if that makes sense.
I noticed first application that the left side Estée Lauder had more of a glow (sheen) but no difference later, I do not like the Estée Lauder on me, I don’t know what I am doing wrong, but it is the only foundation that shows a lot of texture on me and honestly I don’t have a lot of text, it also seems to oxidized, I will be trying other ways to apply it, I have been using a brush, I am very interested in trying the new Dior foundation.
I preferred the Dior side because of the color. I knew right away which side was which because I wear Double Wear almost daily. I feel like Double Wear looks more yellow than the Dior side. Both looked great though, because you have beautiful skin. Which foundation feels the lightest on your skin? I always think that Double Wear feels like a mask on my face.
I wanted to try the dior..estee has been my HG since 2006. I heard dior has a strong floral scent though. I'm very sensitive skin prone to big breakouts so I'm on the fence.
Can you please tell if the Dior one has alcohol in it? I love how the Dior foundations in general but some of their formulas have alcohol as one of the main ingredients that irritate my skin. So I would like to know that too

I feel like your right side looks better- it was full coverage from the get go and airbrushed. You're left side looked more luminous at first. But the smile lines were a bit more prominent on your right at the end- probably because it's more matte.
I've been using ELDW for 20 years and could not see a difference! Thinking about trying Dior since it's fuller coverage...not a fan of the buildable sp? concept!!

ELDW looks better; smile line (nasolabial) is more obvious on the Dior side... checked the begin of the vid and it wasn't worse on that side from the beginning. I can only assume that the ELDW looks smoother and younger. Thank you VERY much for this upload as I was doubting to buy the Dior one. I am a faithful user of ELDS and after this, I will stay with it. Nice review!

I got it right. I noticed the DW was dryer looking on the skin and I have experienced it. Both look great still and I love DW and was looking into the Dior one for the wedding. Just worried about the sweating it off since it’s going to be in Hawaii.
Side with stars looks a pinch more full coverage have a feeling that's dior ❤️😍 can't wait for the end to hear your thoughts 💭
Wow! They both looked great, I could see a little flake wear the Estée Lauder was, but I know retin a was the culprit. First time I tried the dior I used too faced matte primer and it was waaay too matte, I'll try it with my Sisley. I'm sure I'll love it better that way! Great foundation showdown! 👍🏼👍🏼
Is the Dior as dying as double wear? I can't wear double wear because it' just too drying for my skin

I have combination skin type with t zone oily and others zone are normal type..so i use ELDW only at t zone and dior forever for cheeks area. it's work amazing, keep shine away from ur t zone for 12 hours and dewy finish for my cheeks (no need for highlighter).just make sure both have same color matching ur skin...

I agree with Puffin, I preferred that side without being entirely sure I could explain why. Maybe it's different in real life but on camera the other side looked a teeny, tiny bit textured whereas the Estée Lauder side was kind of blurred if that makes sense.
I noticed first application that the left side Estée Lauder had more of a glow (sheen) but no difference later, I do not like the Estée Lauder on me, I don’t know what I am doing wrong, but it is the only foundation that shows a lot of texture on me and honestly I don’t have a lot of text, it also seems to oxidized, I will be trying other ways to apply it, I have been using a brush, I am very interested in trying the new Dior foundation.
They are really the same price since you have to purchase the pump for Estee Lauder?

I preferred the Dior side because of the color. I knew right away which side was which because I wear Double Wear almost daily. I feel like Double Wear looks more yellow than the Dior side. Both looked great though, because you have beautiful skin. Which foundation feels the lightest on your skin? I always think that Double Wear feels like a mask on my face.
I wanted to try the dior..estee has been my HG since 2006. I heard dior has a strong floral scent though. I'm very sensitive skin prone to big breakouts so I'm on the fence.
claireandbennysmama it DEF has a floral fragrance... if you are sensitive to fragrance, I wouldn’t try it

Can you please tell if the Dior one has alcohol in it? I love how the Dior foundations in general but some of their formulas have alcohol as one of the main ingredients that irritate my skin. So I would like to know that too

if i want to buy one foundation in these two foundation .which one you recomended for combination acne prone skin .which one is more light weight and good in in colours because i am more of the yellow side like you.i am nc 20 in mac studio fix foundation.

I feel like your right side looks better- it was full coverage from the get go and airbrushed. You're left side looked more luminous at first. But the smile lines were a bit more prominent on your right at the end- probably because it's more matte.
Which reminds me... what's your opinion on Mac face and body?!

I guessed them correctly but I liked the EL DW just a pinch better. I picked up a sample of the Dior the other day but have yet to use it.
