+*Noodlerella* From the moment I subscribed and started watching your videos around 2 years ago, I got the impression that you probably come from an affluent family or how you British folks I guess seem to call it "posh" as a term for being rich and this video confirmed my suspicion. What's really amazing is that it's somewhat hard to tell because you're so down to earth, sweet, and do not give off any snobby vibes at all. Great to know that you do not let your haters upset you. They're missing out due to their prejudiced opinions. You're awesome!
I went to an actual small rural school in America and we had didn’t even have 500 kids in the entire school, which was k-12, so we had about 50 kids at prom. People would either drive their tractor, combine, or truck to prom or they would borrow a sort of nice car from a neighbor. We’re so freaking American that kids would drive tractors to school on a daily basis if they were to young to drive and we used to be allowed to keep guns in our cars
In the 70s and 80s the guys would have a gun rack in the back window of their pickup. No one gave a second thought to that. Now you would be expelled and treated as a criminal.
We have around 350 (20-40 a year (60 is the biggest) in my school and when it comes to prom (we all have to watch them come) they all come on tractors or horses. its quite funny
My mom makes that punch for a lot of after-event receptions at church. We have a lot of concerts and things. It's ginger ale, juice, and sherbert. You can use any flavor and it'll be drinkable, but I remember canada dry and cran-apple with rainbow sherbert and frozen raspberries. I think she also had like frozen rings of cranberry juice. It was a chuck everything in type thing though. Sometimes there were grapes, or orange juice, any random flavors. Sometimes we used 7 up instead of or in addition to ginger ale. Or we're near Detroit, so sometimes Vernors.
The best part is that using rainbow sherbert turns the punch like brownish gray, and it's fizzy, and it's just fantastically gross and delicious. Oh and if I remember right it's 2:1 juice to soda.
What? We had: Horses Horse drawn carriage Sport cars Classic cars Helicopters Motor bike Normal bike Tractor Tractor drawing a kart with hay bales We had the whole mix
Well the concept of hogwarts came from British private schools. We have houses, which we compete in in sports, house plays etc and you’re awarded points from winning some of the events mention above and in academic achievements which would then be tallied up at the end of the year and they would announce the winning house at the end of school assembly. You’re put into a house randomly btw when you first start school, there isn’t some way of picking. That is unless you’ve had a family member who went to that school. Then you’d be placed in the same house. You’d also have house common rooms.
+SushiRoll Speaks haha nooooo. Not like that anymore I wish I could explain this but it's very much not like this maybe in the east coast yes but I'm from LA and it's soooooo different.
doesnt everyone get professional photos at prom tho? We had ours at a county club and we had like bumper cars and fair rides and stuff and raffles for macbooks and tvs. some ppl even came to prom in party busses
We had an unofficial competition in our school to arrive in the stupidest form of transport (includes Barbie bikes, cardboard tanks, horse trailers with horse masks included, segways, boats on trailers, wheel barrows ect.) You name it. We had it. I think the difference between English and American prom is that we (English) don't take it as seriously.
Okay, so I spent $300 something on my dress (I've only been to one prom so far), it was a $70 ticket. Limos didn't really happen, and there was no alcohol (supposed to be), but not much enforcing of it. One girl put two flasks in her dress ... Oh and prom king and queen is voted by the students who are attending prom, but they don't get a special dance. There was no punch bowl or sit down meal. Just a snack table. And it was everyone "dancing" everywhere, not much division. You also could easily go in friend groups, it's seen as normal. Also I'm single and not popular, so I just hung out at a friends house with the rest of my prom group of mostly single Pringles sans one couple.
I live in Australia, and for our last year of primary school, (year 6) we had a 'Dinner Dance' so we had a sit-down fancy meal and then danced for the rest of the night.
In Scotland we have a "leavers dance" in primary 7 (when we are like 11 or 12 and just about to go to high school) and it's basically everyone in your year doing Scottish partner dancing in kilts and nice dresses with some food thrown in there.
Listening to rich people talk about money is sickening when you're munching on your poundland meal XD But it's impossible to hate Connie when she's so sweet
+Anarchist Owl Well you're entitled to your opinion (obviously, you don't need me to tell you that) but it'd be cool not to say you don't like someone where they might see it
I didn't go to prom, but I have been to both Homecoming Dances and people weren't allowed to grind, but almost everyone did anyway. I threw confetti at my friends instead.
Our promise is exclusively for seniors. Only seniors can buy tickets ($50 bucks a pop), but they can bring non seniors. Pictures before hand are huge, and it's at a big hotel in the city. There's also NO drinking and a big after prom thing that goes on all night, put on by the school, to help make sure there's no drunk parties/driving. Last year for after prom, they brought in a hypnotist and it was so cool. The prom is put on by all of student council.
in Spain we do that too but we do the dance as well... obviously to different places though cause it would be a lot more expensive hahaha I went to Barcelona
In Romania we go to the mountains and call it "excursie". and for us this is amazing. the mountains are right in romania we don't get out the country. and it's a really little country.
lauren Anderson drinking ages in the UK are... strange. like in your own house (anywhere not in public) you can drink from age 5 in a pub it's 16 and to buy its 18
A lot of schools in the US don’t do homecoming or prom king and queen anymore because it started to be used mockingly toward the unpopular/disabled students
I’m from the Midwestern US and I remember distinctly in like junior high one of the high schoolers trying to bring her friend that was either a freshman or a sophomore to prom with her and our school wouldn’t let her fill out the form. Like she even said that they were going as a date and it was this whole thing. They never let her fill out the form but they finally let go of that policy I believe it was my freshman year. It’s not an issue there anymore but it’s just crazy to think how much things have changed and how that was seen as an acceptable rule at the time.
My school put on this huge thing outside in a field to scare us into not drinking and driving. The drama club literally staged a car crash and the police were there and firefighters and an ambulance and EVEN A HELICOPTER came. This was only for seniors and it was a day before senior prom (we had 2 different proms)
Bro we had the same thing called a mock crash. They do it every other year and have the Juniors and Seniors watch. And like the theatre department helps put it on.
I'm thirteen, but for school dances, they tell us to leave enough room for the Holy Spirit when dancing with others. (I go to a private, catholic school.)
We always play certain songs every year (prom in Minnesota). Cha cha slide, cupid shuffle, cotton eye joe, YMCA, etc. During my sophomore year prom was on a boat on the Mississippi river (small prom). No alcohol, AT ALL, and people usually go to take pictures somewhere and then to a nice dinner before prom.
I have gone to a total of 2 proms (Primary School and Secondary School) and I went to an all-girls' school in SG :p. You'd go with all your friends and just hang out until all the food had been served. Primary School prom was more just graduation dinner really while Secondary School was more formal, where you wore nice+expensive dresses and it was held in the ballroom of a 5-star hotel. We were served a 5-course meal I think, it was really fun. Also, prom only happens after the GCE O Levels were over.

+ShadowNoir she looks nothing like LDShadowLady lol
Squixi NOTHING LIKE LIZZIE 🖕🏻👹
I went to an actual small rural school in America and we had didn’t even have 500 kids in the entire school, which was k-12, so we had about 50 kids at prom. People would either drive their tractor, combine, or truck to prom or they would borrow a sort of nice car from a neighbor. We’re so freaking American that kids would drive tractors to school on a daily basis if they were to young to drive and we used to be allowed to keep guns in our cars
In the 70s and 80s the guys would have a gun rack in the back window of their pickup. No one gave a second thought to that. Now you would be expelled and treated as a criminal.
@@alicem6611
Having the rack is fine, having the gun on it will get you in trouble.
We have around 350 (20-40 a year (60 is the biggest) in my school and when it comes to prom (we all have to watch them come) they all come on tractors or horses. its quite funny
Connie Connie is way too posh 😂😂 ... its like a whole new world
lol yeah.. very posh... but all seem very nice
haha yeah nice people. Great video Evan!
I act like that😂 but I know I'm posh so...
+Tiger Lily haha that's terribleeely cringe worthy 😂 Do you go to private school and such? lol
I can vouch for her , girls boarding school is exactly as she says , we have a girl with a helicopter in my year 😂
Went to prom with my best guy friend. We are both very not straight but it's Tennessee. Us acting heterosexual was an amusing sight to say the least😂🌈
same!!
'Very not straight' I feel ya
just be you. fuck what other people think
and i also find it problematic that you 'act straight'. how about i pull up to my school 'acting gay'
+MemesRMyStuff okay what the hell??they probably did it for a reason, not being safe or accepted ??
You are literally God.
The best part is that using rainbow sherbert turns the punch like brownish gray, and it's fizzy, and it's just fantastically gross and delicious. Oh and if I remember right it's 2:1 juice to soda.
What? We had:
Horses
Horse drawn carriage
Sport cars
Classic cars
Helicopters
Motor bike
Normal bike
Tractor
Tractor drawing a kart with hay bales
We had the whole mix
lmao helicopter girl
Coco _ makes me think of Lost Pause
Connie's school was freaking Hogwarts... I'm so jealous!!!!!
that øne fangirl So Hogwarts now has helicopters?
Ali Emma How else would Draco get to Pigfarts? He made it clear his parents can't afford to buy out NASA.
Damn prom is brutal in the us
it's so strict omg
You are forced to date each other and judged based on your looks and only allowed to be in a straight couple lol no thanks!
+SushiRoll Speaks haha nooooo. Not like that anymore I wish I could explain this but it's very much not like this maybe in the east coast yes but I'm from LA and it's soooooo different.
+SushiRoll Speaks 😂 you're not forced to date them, and I'm pretty sure gay couples are allowed now
+Remy Smith in the video evan said something like "thankfully times have changed," on gay couples
"In my school showed up in a tractor"
*amazed looks*
*lives in ireland *....ok?
It's so weird that Evan grew up like 45 minutes away from me
Ignore Me omg same 😂
oh same, only we called it field day not flag day
Ignore Me omg I go where he went to college
Calling it before I watch the video:
Cha Cha Slide gets mentioned.
Nailed it.
Everybody clap your hands
Connie's prom sounded pretty crap for a private school...we had professional photos taken, with our friends and by ourselves
Bethan Botterill la di da
doesnt everyone get professional photos at prom tho? We had ours at a county club and we had like bumper cars and fair rides and stuff and raffles for macbooks and tvs. some ppl even came to prom in party busses
David McCafferty that sounds posh 😂
Oofy oofy oofity oof
“350 people at my prom. I went to a small school”
I had 45 people at my junior prom 😂
We had an unofficial competition in our school to arrive in the stupidest form of transport (includes Barbie bikes, cardboard tanks, horse trailers with horse masks included, segways, boats on trailers, wheel barrows ect.) You name it. We had it. I think the difference between English and American prom is that we (English) don't take it as seriously.
Katie Semple thats amazing
Our prom was held in an uber nice hotel though. So there's that.
the Dodie song references I'm dying
LEAVE HER ALONE (cause she's not alone)
Yes
Our year 11 prom is going to be on a boat on the Thames too
I live in Australia, and for our last year of primary school, (year 6) we had a 'Dinner Dance' so we had a sit-down fancy meal and then danced for the rest of the night.
Alice Mario same
Except the students called it 'formal' and the teachers called it 'farewell dinner'
I just realised you quoted "One for the Road" and I'm so proud of you Evan
hehehehe
when omg
+PAY YOUR FUCKING TAXES shit I feel stupid now I just reached that point
In Scotland we have a "leavers dance" in primary 7 (when we are like 11 or 12 and just about to go to high school) and it's basically everyone in your year doing Scottish partner dancing in kilts and nice dresses with some food thrown in there.
Emily Larkin At my leavers dance I danced with another girl and loads of people acted so offended
I miss them, they used to be my favorite youtubers ❤
I spent my entire prom at the buffet table. It was a good prom..
sounds like it!
that noodlerela girl omg so fricking posh im jealous
i used to be so embarrassed by how posh i was so thank you
awww haha its cute tho. typical british
+Tahira to America yes but to actual brits the typical brit is Vicky Pollard(look it up if you don't know who that is)
+Donut Gaming OMG YESS lol to americans noodlerela would be typical british. but to us british vicky is the typical british
fine line between posh and stuck up
I screamed "OH MY GOD ALL THREE OF MY QUEENS!" without even realizing it and I regret nothing
relatable
👌👌👌
aw I love Connie in this more than in her own videos 😂 "evan is old" and "leave her alone" killed me
boarding school is boring as fuck, it's nothing like harry potter and everyone is really snobby. honestly it was hell for moi
Multi Remiix ouihonhonbaguettehonoui you make me laugh
I went to a boarding school and I loved it. Best years of my life
The amount of flirting between Connie and Evan is ridiculously cute
I KNOW RIGHT
Indeed haha
Listening to rich people talk about money is sickening when you're munching on your poundland meal XD But it's impossible to hate Connie when she's so sweet
oh no!! sorry ;u;
but also thank you
+Noodlerella Thank you :3
it's not impossible at all
(and no, I don't dislike her because she's rich)
+Anarchist Owl Well you're entitled to your opinion (obviously, you don't need me to tell you that) but it'd be cool not to say you don't like someone where they might see it
+Emily agreed. but she's a big girl who can clearly handle herself and negativity, no one should be 100% bubble wrapped from it
I ship Dodie and Nutella❤️ Dodella? Nutie? What is my life coming to I'm literally shipping chocolate spread and a British babe wtf
I didn't go to prom, but I have been to both Homecoming Dances and people weren't allowed to grind, but almost everyone did anyway. I threw confetti at my friends instead.
I was hoping you'd say "cause she's not alone" lmao
It has it in subtitles
+TrashGender yeah that's what I meant - I was appreciating it :)
The prom is put on by all of student council.
there's also no pressure to go with anyone. most people go with friends.
I had to pay $120. :P But our venue was amazing!
"Obviously someone showed up in the tractor"
12:16 i expected a one for the road joke i'm so disappointed
check the little subtitles.
In colombia, we usually go party 4 days to panama, san andres or cartagena, its called excursión
dr Arismendi I am exchanger and I will miss that because I will leave half a year before I am so sad
dr Arismendi or to Cancún
taetaeiskookiesbae 29372 Where did you go?, I went to panamá
in Spain we do that too but we do the dance as well... obviously to different places though cause it would be a lot more expensive hahaha I went to Barcelona
In Romania we go to the mountains and call it "excursie". and for us this is amazing. the mountains are right in romania we don't get out the country. and it's a really little country.
U guys can drink alcohol in highschool? Cuz that's like TOTALLY unexceptible in the US until ur 21(or in college, no one tells on u)
lauren Anderson the drinking age in the UK is 18
lauren Anderson drinking ages in the UK are... strange. like in your own house (anywhere not in public) you can drink from age 5 in a pub it's 16 and to buy its 18
5?!?!?
lauren Anderson yep....
Wait but isn't the alcohol in the U.K. Like less alcoholy. Like there's not as much alcohol in it Compared to American alcohol. Idk imma just stop now
Its so weird seeing the difference between the us and uk proms omg
A lot of schools in the US don’t do homecoming or prom king and queen anymore because it started to be used mockingly toward the unpopular/disabled students
I still haven’t found any school that currently still does prom king and queen. My school hasn’t done it for at least 30 years.
70 quid from New Look dress = me spending accumulated Christmas new look vouchers bc I have no care for clothes shopping
When it comes to my prom I'll probably stay at home training up my Pokemon! 😂
You get a high-five for that reference
I was the kid at school that no one would talk to, but looking at me now you wouldn't think that, would you?
tut tut tut, we found the emma squad! haha
ayyyy
+Miss McDuck
I'm the "kid at school" that is acquaintances with everybody, friends with no one....
What did Dodie say when they were talking about the punch bowl when she said something like "Did anyone ___ the punch bowl?"
Phantastic Failure spike. Spike the punch bowl
Phantastic Failure she said did anyone spike the punch bowl. meaning to pour alchohol into it
Cactus Phandom spike
Cactus Phandom PHAMMM
Lucy Haynes spike
My school had our prom in the school hall, had a take away and had "Photo booth".
(I go to a private, catholic school.)
wtf 😂😂😂😂
Ashlar Sangeorge Mine always said leave room for Jesus.
Ashlar Sangeorge I get you, but no one dances together like two couples and that's it. My friends and I just sit on the edges and talk.
Ashlar Sangeorge omg hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Connie and Dodie have mad chemistry tbh
I mean in a gay way if that wasn't clear
Well, both of them are bisexual, so it can work out.
As a lesbian I 100% endorse that concept
Let the mad shipping begin.
god i ship it
11:06 who ever was the stig, they are a keeper xD
We always play certain songs every year (prom in Minnesota). Cha cha slide, cupid shuffle, cotton eye joe, YMCA, etc. During my sophomore year prom was on a boat on the Mississippi river (small prom). No alcohol, AT ALL, and people usually go to take pictures somewhere and then to a nice dinner before prom.
Wow. My senior class had 1720 people, so our Prom had a LOT of people there.
+Alex scott Dallas, Texas.
Each yeah in my school has 200 per year!! But I live in rural northern England. And my schools a big one!
this year's senior class at my school had 78 people what the heck
+Allan Garcia my friends primary had 8-12 people in a year!
He was like "I went to a small school" and then he said like 400 people and I'm sitting here like the senior class this year was 37 people for us 😂
The new holy trinity
P.S 12:20 nice reference there buddy
I love how Evan uses Dodie's song lyrics against her
I have gone to a total of 2 proms (Primary School and Secondary School) and I went to an all-girls' school in SG :p.
