So encouraging to see what has happened in Iceland. I hiked around the island in 1985 and expected to come across a forest each time I walked over a hill or round a corner. Never happened of course. Now look! Amazing to think its happened in my lifetime. I came home to the volcanic Island in the South Pacific, New Zealand, and planted my own forest. It was cut down a few years ago as trees grow very fast here, 500mm to 600mm dia. base in 25 years.
Can you grow Alders there? I found they are a nitrogen fixer, so will be great for the soil. Gorse and lupin are N. fixers too so would make good nurse crops.

Amazing work! 🌲 My only suggestion is to maybe plant forests in more natural shapes - squares are a bit unnatural. Otherwise, keep it up !

The trees at 0:44, and at 6:55, have been limbed up a couple meters. To produce knot free lumber or veneer? Widely done, or a research plot? By hand, with chainsaw? Funded by the State, or by private landowners? Thank you for reply.
