Light doesn't have a "range" per se. The light from stars reaches us from millions of lightyears away. It has a lot more to do with the ambient light in the environment, the angle the light is at in relation to both the subject and the front element of the lens, and a multitude of other things.

The range of that flash seems quite far. Have you tested how far it reaches?
