Dear Scott, just about watched all your vids. Some 3/4 times. Favourite so far was the lady who ditched in the Pacific on her own and survived. This video changing a wheel while sitting on an office chair using a too small jack is a red flag for me. If you examine one of your trolly jacks you will find that the part that takes the weight usually comes off. Unbolts or unclips. Get a bracket custom made to fit on the jack and attach to the wheel hub. Get a nice piece of thick carpet to kneel on. Looking forward to the next Vid. Just watched again just now. Like a horror movie, .
Stupid phone. The nearest I got was when I groundlooped the Citabria and wound up in a field next to the runway. Fortunately nothing was hurt. Lol - it happened so fast the guys in the tower didn't see it. I didn't either, for that matter. At first, the tower guys wanted me to wait for help to get out. Embarrassing. But the taildragger was fine and after thinking about it they let me get out on my own, no problem 😊
My 180 used to be a bear to land with the 8.00x6, I finally had enough and decided to set her up on greased plates to check the toe in. We found one was toe in neutral and one was correct but when we loaded her up to AUW and checked again the camber was out. We took all the shims out and started from scratch back to factory settings. Resulting handling was a massive change in directional controllability and much less skipping at touchdown.
Would have been nice if you listed the company and tire you bought. Is the company called “Big Tire”? I want to upgrade my tires too but not sure which brand because I also sometimes have to land on pavement and would like longer life tires.
The ones in this Video are Desser 31's. Goodyear makes a 26" Tundra Tire. Other than that Airframes Alaska sells Alaska Bushwheels. And that's about it.
Can you do a video on your MT prop on your 180? I have a old style 88” sea plane prop and need to upgrade but I’d like to know more about the MT and if your satisfied with the performance
Scott you have exceptional taste in airplanes

Haha... it was a pain in the ass. I sold the airplane.
Where in Texas are you? I’ve got a 180B in Texas and have wanted this setup, would like to check it out
North Texas. I don’t own that airplane anymore.

A humbling experience I'm sure! Things like that make us better pilots. Glad it worked out!
Beautiful Skywagon. I've never had the chance to experience tires like that. The nearest
Maybe a shorter handle on that dang jack!! Hate when the handles are that short. Nice job sir
Haha. I just sold the airplane instead;)
@@FlyWirescottperdue nice looking airplane for sure!!!
@@rodgerhatfield3068 Thanks Roger!
Did you have to get a field approval for this setup?
Strictly STCs.
I have them on my kitfox 4😅
Yes I am wondering what the big tire thing is all about. I can't wait to do it too.
Eric- I just shot the first video answering that question (I think I've got to do a couple). But they do make touchdowns pretty nice!

Justin- I did a speed test video with the 180 and the MT prop. I could put a video together looking at the MT a bit closer though.
I did see your video on that, maybe a video on the prop itself and your experience with it, just for a poor Bush pilot in western Alaska :p
@@justinsalaskanadventures I'll put it on the list! Thanks!
My 8.50 tires are big until I go to Alaska.😃
