For some reason it's never him. It's always the people around him. When are we going to just say Baker's a good quarterback and he makes me mediocre offensive coordinators look good. Just look at Freddy kitchens.
@ Maybe, but I have not seen a lot of Trevor that would convince me of that. Mayfield has multiple Playoff Seasons including Wins with different coordinators in different systems and the overall offensive Roster of TB is much better than the one in JAX. If they don´t fix the O-Line in JAX then Trevor might be done by the end of the year. You can only take so many injuries before the body breaks dow, which I really dont hope for him.
Jacksonville has an absentee owner that doesn't seem to have the necessary understanding of the NFL to be a competitive owner despite his wealth. The NFL has a history of franchises stuck in ruts lasting years because of incompetent ownership. The Benson Saints, Culverhouse Bucs, Rankin Smith Falcons, Ford family Lions in the past; today Tepper Panthers, Jones Cowboys, Khan Jaguars all have ownership that will keep these teams at the bottom of the league for years.......one might wonder at some point if the owners club will figure out how to get rid of bad owners much more easily than they got rid of Daniel Snyder. Bucs fan here... Coen got so much credit for the offense, can he get some blame for the total lack of discipline down the stretch and in the playoffs???
Jags are a joke. Mayfield made this guy. He was shady during the entire hiring process then lies to press saying didn’t come back because GM was fired. His resume is garbage. This is an awful hire.
Well , the guy got a 45m contract. Hes coached a lot of years. So his ship came in. Either he fixes Lawerence or not, Jags need to know. He also probably knows that with the current Bucs roster ( injury prone Godwin, old Evans) he may not be able to do better without a reset roster. Bowles’ defense also needs upgrades considerably. That will be tough with baker wanting more scratch too. Light has his work cut out.
