The cast is amazing, but the costumes are way too loud and blend into the background of the scenery in the actual show. The accents definitely need work. But we in the US did butcher Kinky Boots lol, but idm the bend and snap change. It fits and everyone killed it.
I think my problem with this production is that it doesn’t feel like legally blonde. Legally Blonde’s whole story is don’t judge a book by its cover, and the cast here is incredible, but something feels very off. The costumes are almost a weird space age style at times and the way it’s being performed is almost too big. Maybe it’s just me. I love the cast, I just feel like the direction attempt was to be hip and modern and it was a swing and a miss in terms of execution
In my opinion, I like *most* of the costumes. I love how they’re trying to make it their own, while drawing stuff in from the original production. BUT I think the thing that throws me off the most is that the music is slowed down so that they can do American accents.
@@Awesomest_chosen_onethat won't be why it was slowed down. British actors live and sleep in American accents. I think it was just to give it a more modern hip hop feel.
First of all what a GORGEOUS Elle Woods, wow and what a clever idea to have her hair that way! I'd love to start seeing Asian and Latina and other versions of Elle too 🤗 Paulette is so dynamic and beautiful (love her piercing), the other dancers were really fun and unique too 💜 Also I think everyone's outfits are AMAZING! Very early 2000s where many wanted to dress like pop stars. Except...Elle? Idk I don't think hers translated properly (I know she's supposed to be conforming in navy blue, but it's just hard to see her against the background at times and a bit of white on the outfit would have really helped). Honestly, I think this is really a cute remake... I'd happily sit through this version, but I also play versions of this musical while I clean at least once a month, so Ive seen some actually mediocre performances and think these cast did great! I don't get all the hate and harsh criticism in the comments at all.

I love this production but the American accent discrepancy keeps getting me lmao... I just feel like if they can't find the right cast to do the American accents well enough, they shouldn't do those shows. @justinm2697 technically the bend and snap still has the same definition. To bend: is to incline one's body downwards. To snap: a sudden cracking sound or movement
