    That's awesome❤. I was stuck after I saw that warning message and on internet it was like this formula is not supported in lightning so went back to classic and I wasted so much time it's only after this video that I was able to step ahead of that warning. Thank you so much .

    This video is great!! Thanks a lot! How can we do it when we want to see growth between Same Quarter Last Year vs Same Quarter Current Year?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ajay,
      You can modify the formula to do this. The Previous Group function will accept a third parameter called Increment. Increment accepts a number to tell it how many groupings to go back. By default this is 1, but you could make it 4, which would compare last year's quarter to this quarter. If you were grouping by month then that number would be 12.

    Great! Good point because the documentation missed the step of selecting the display/formula to be applied

    I'm receiving "The report name can't be null" error message when trying to validate after I select Close date under Specific Groups. Any thoughts?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Seth, that error means the name of the report is blank and you must give it a name to save it. In the upper left of the report builder you should be able to update the name.

      @@Rotive Thank You! I had a name for the report, but didn't save it before trying to validate it. Appreciate the help :)

    This is super useful thank you for posting. I am trying to work out the revenue growth per account, from one fin year to another. This formula is comparing values to the previous value, which provides growth across multiple accounts, not just within an account (if that makes sense). Is there a way to tweak the formula? Ultimately looking to see what the growth in rev was for Account Z FY21 versus Account Z FY22. Any help gratefully received. Thanks!

      Hey Ben, Sure. The principle is the same. You just need to adjust how you group. Group by Year of course, but above that group by Account. That way you're calculating just that accounts growth within its group.

    Is it possible to get the same type of report Growth = (Total Leads In Previous FY - Total Leads In Current FY)?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ashish. Yes, you can absolutely create that report. Just group the leads by created date/year.

    Hello, thank you for this insightful walk-through! I am trying to create a report that captures week-over-week volume and I follwed these steps, but when I try to add the summary-level formula I get an error stating "AMOUNT:SUM does not exist. Check spelling." Do you know what would cause this?

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need to group the records first. Then make sure that the Amount field is being summed by clicking on the Amount column header dropdown to add Sum if it's not already there.

      Hey Michelle, Just make sure you've given your new report a name by clicking the pencil in the upper left to change it before clicking Save or Save and Run.

    hey!
    why would i get an #error in the growth column? :)

    • @Rotive
      @Rotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Phoebe, Thanks for watching our channel! If you're getting an error like that, either the formula has an error or there is no data in the "previous group". For example, if you're comparing quarter over quarter (like in our video), the first quarter in your report won't have a previous quarter to compare to so it will show you an error. Later quarters in the report should have that previous quarter to compare to so there shouldn't be an error for those later groupings. Run the report and see if that error shows up on every grouping or if it's just the first grouping.
