I still don't get why and how Trinity got "The One" powers? Also, I think that they wasted a potentially really cool plot twist that the cat was the real administrator and the human was only a body double. Imagine if this was the truth considering how many times it appeared to just do nothing to the plot except for an easter egg...
Well, I did like how you constructed your reason for liking this movie. To me, it does come off as a genuine opinion, instead of just following the beat of what others have said. Though I still dislike this movie for being underwhelming and hard to watch, especially when the voice in the back of my mind is yelling "I've seen this before, can I see something new, please?!" or "Wow, this was completely pointless...I'm want to watch Dune 2021" I hate this film for a more philosophical reason, it's perpetuating the inane reason to keep reusing Sagas who already told their stories with a conclusion. It's even worse, when the original actors don't reprise their roles, the characters have poorly developed, and overall it just feels like this installment was running on steam, and even worse with no objective reason to resume a completed story. I do agree the Matrix sequels are poorly thought out, but that's because there was no objective reason to continue or had anything deep to say while continuing the worldbuilding. Though, I will say that Lana Wachowski violated the unspoken rule of franchise building, do not make more than three films. Only do one movie plus two sequels, because unless you constructed well thought out storyline, you'll burn yourself out of your creative momentum. Thus your films' successes will start to fail, especially when the elements you put in, do not serve the narrative you're trying to established.
Methinks Wachowski intentionally made this bad in order to prevent the studio from demanding even more of them be made. Plus take jabs at the studios in the dialogue along the way.

a little treat to myself sometimes is to spark a big spliff & watch a new Decker Shado review. So he's going all in on the new Matrix movie then, aight, let's do this.
My only issue with the sequels is that I can't perceive a need for them. The Matrix ended in a way that said "you decide what happened or what will happen". Why ruin the mythos of a powerful stand alone movie with watered down sequels? I'd rather have unanswered questions than bullshit answers. Like Pacific Rim 2, who was asking for this and why?
So the machines suddenly forgot how to build and use nuclear power, including fusion? Or alternative sources of power? Or even just power themselves down a bit? There is absolutely no reason for Neo and Trinity to even be there.
It's okay. That quote about know what we want or don't want was taken straight from Stalker 1979, Tarkovsky film. "How would I know that actually I don't want what I want?" The Writer
I've had this on BluRay since it came out. As a fan of the first three, I heard so many bad things I just decided it wasn't worth the trouble. Your review on the other hand makes it look like I may actually like it. Might have to give it a watch soon.

Hey Decker just a thought, but how about something truly iconic and was the gold standard for action/comedy for the 80s and 90s and was the inspiration for a lot of people to make something of themselves.................................................................................................................................................................... of course I'm talking about Police Academy
Weirdly enough I finished watching the movie for the first time like an hour ago and noticed this new video was just uploaded. Not the best Matrix movie but entertaining enough
Bugs...the glitch in the system...the spanner in the works... Just like her namesake, her involvement in any situation will guarantee a shift in the norm, just like taking the wrong turn at Albuquerque. I actually liked her.
Hi Decker! I bought this film on DVD when it came out. I really wanted, and tried to like it, but I just haven't seen past the first 20 mins. I can't figure out what this movie is........
Hey Deckypoo, I'm apologize for not watching this right away. I wanted to watch the movie first. However, i didn't like any of these except the first one and i always enjoy ur reviews more than the actual movies ur reviewing so, i said to hell with it and here i am. Tyty for the vid bro!! Holy hell I never noticed that! This is a goddamned tragedy! I cannot understand why he doesn't have a million subs! His reviews have staying power and he's not changed in the decade I've been watching him while going back and watching Phelous, Lupa, NC, etc is a painful experience! The only channel I can rewatch is the Cinema Snob but his new stuff, as in the stuff put out since he got married and forced his wife into reviews and turned into a parody of his past character. Decker's videos are great from season 1 to today. I've been binging his vids the last few days and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
The irony of the original film giving the choice of pills to take, but like all drugs, the first hit will always be the best. This film was unadulterated trash, yet another modern example from the past 20 years, that Hollywood just doesn't have the magic anymore. QT was right, the very idea of sequel, just for the sake of it, is cancer to narrative and good story.
MORE DECKER! MORE SHADO! MORE HAIR! Seriously though I have been spamming that for more than my OCD is comfortable with. Yet SPAM I shall. "Anyone who doesn't watch this has bad hair!" "Well I didn't watch it and my hair is fine", DECKER LEANS IN AND whispers "I am merciful"
Nostalgia made me hate this movie more than I should have I just generally didn't like the plot the cinematography made it seem like Keanu was old and slow (even if he is stunt double it up) and it just seemed slow at times Neo was definitely nerfed waaaaaay to much
Imo, they nerfed him because the director knew it would be incredibly hard to make a bunch of 'bots' feel as dangerous as a tons of Agent Smiths if Neo had all his powers.
Been doing that since the Matrix Revolutions review, actually. Was hoping that the increase of people reaching the end of a video might kickstart the algorithm into liking me again. So far, that has not worked.
@@DeckerShado ...I didn't notice it before, my mistake ^^". I mostly listen to reviews when doing something else and sometimes checking notes/some jokes ^^". Algorithm is like a fickle monster, good luck with it.
Excellent review , just started watching you again and i see you stepped up your game , i'm really enjoying your output One of my favorite things to do is try to guess your final rating about a 1/4 of the way through , i got it right this time
Oh wow they're still on the "humans as energy" thing. Lord forbid robots figure out geo thermal or fusion. Wouldn't wind be the best idea given that a perpetual storm blocks the sky?
I like Jonathan Groff but I think we needed the original, however I do really like Yahya's performance, I think he made it his own, and having the code become morphius because it figured out it was code is interesting, the rest of the changes and stuff tho I'm not sure about lol
I liked the observation about Agent/Morpheus changing his life after seeing the code, until I realized that Neo designed the program and thus Agent/Morpheus wasn't an ACTUAL Matrix agent at all. Thus, that observation went from poignant, to pointless.
I will give it a chance, although admit it's been a hella long time since i watched the first two of the trilogy and dimly remember the lore bits, which may be benefical to enjoying it as a standalone film versus as the director intended. The review is fun and loved the videogame references, especially the OverWatch bit. Cheers and have a great day.
I thought it was fine. Not great, but certainly not as terrible as some were saying. At first I thought the film would be an act of self-sabotage by Lilly Wachowski to ensure that nobody would be making anymore Matrix movies, but . . . no, I think she had something to say. There's probably too many ideas to make a fully coherent, satisfying narrative. However, this was one of the most interesting franchise films I've seen recently.
Another great video! I was so excited when this movie came out on HBO Max, and very quickly disappointed. I think that's just because I hyped myself up too much.
Great review! Good to see you not giving up. You got skills Decker! All the best to you and your girl. Now as to the movie in question. Matrix 1 had a good and arguably definitive end. Matrix 3 had a VERY definitive end. This is the definition of pointless cash-grab.
Bill and Ted: Face the Music was made PURELY for the fans. A little attempt at a love letter to please the ones who loved the original 2. Matrix 4 was made SOLEY to make money. The ONLY reason Lana came back was because her and her sisters Baby (allegations of stealing/taking/borrowing/homage-ing/or referencing aside) was gonna be 100% churned into mush. You think it was bad? I promise it would have been MUCH worse if Lana called their bluff and let them(WB) take FULL control from 'go'. I enjoyed both movies because my brain only decides to be critical of films if I watch them with another person. When I'm alone, i can turn my brain off and 'enjoy' a LOT of faults in a movie. Although i agree a LOT of people can't just....NOT see the issues in movies(as valid as they are), and it's not the norm in movie culture right now...... try it. Movies that most people hate become fun as hell when you just 'let go' .
@@coolguyhino92 yeah, Face The Music was a love letter to fans that the creators wanted to make since the early 2000’s but studios kept saying no. It was only once Keanu became hot shit that studios even thought about green lighting it
wait wait wait....I've known that 2 and 3 were filmed back to back since forever....but never once did i ever consider the 3 of them as '2 movies'. Is the criteria that they need to be filmed back to back(cuz that would mean there is only 2 back to the future movies since 2 and 3 were filmed concurrently), of their story has to perfectly bleed and transition from 2 to 3 even without needing openings and endings(cuz THAT would mean there is only 2 lord of the rings movies) .....i've yet to decide how 'ok' i am with this information.
Dude! This movie should be pt2! This looked great! I love the way it's just down to the self and not the whole. It's techno Adam and Eve! The story may be recycled all to hell, as well as the messages but, the heart of it all was worth it! It just felt like the ones in between didn't have that. Tyty agian for the video bro! I am so glad i watched ur review! Long live the best hair!!
I have a feeling this movie might have been made for a different reason other than to simply make another Matrix film. But that would be too crazy of a conversation to get into for a movie review. Also, I know October is a ways off yet, but I think Trick r Treat would be a fun one to review then. Just a thought.
The last attempt to free humanity (Jesus) failed but left the controlsystem (the babylonian sun worshipping cult) with a now-built-in anomaly. The next attempt (soon) will be succesful and permanent. The new Matrix movie depicts our current time where people think that messages in entertainment are just fantasy. They are not. They are fading memories of what has happend and glimpses of what's to come.
funny enough i looked at this more of a satire/thriller but i like meta humour as long as it earns it and the movie certainly did. i cant fault lana for having to do workarounds given actors refused to come back and any differences are explained in the movie as them being different characters with influence from the originals tom has been neos boss and friend for 50 years which has a bit of influence on the returning smiths personality reset the memories dont go away they just make him more human
I did notice the three star review really did not add up to three stars. What's bad about it? Characters, etc. etc. etc...what's good? Still no real clue.
I did love Lambert Wilson's cameo. It's a shame they didn't bring Monica Bellucci back as well; although having Lambert as an insane homeless man was actually an awesome touch.

I bet Weaving and Fishburne are thanking their lucky stars that they missed out on being in this mess.
I still don't get why and how Trinity got "The One" powers? Also, I think that they wasted a potentially really cool plot twist that the cat was the real administrator and the human was only a body double. Imagine if this was the truth considering how many times it appeared to just do nothing to the plot except for an easter egg...
Because this is a new Matrix based on Neo AND Trinity. While the coding of the old Matrix only accounted for Neo.

@@Deception975 yeah but Neo went through the hero’s journey to gain his power while Trinity all of a sudden could fly. Its lazy and shit writing.

So, did you watch it yet?
Putting in a request for the movie "Razorback." Only because I saw it as a 4 year old, my bonafide first horror movie.
Gratitude for your content.
Thanks for taking the time.
Watching this right now before youtube does its thing
Hey Decker just a thought, but how about something truly iconic and was the gold standard for action/comedy for the 80s and 90s and was the inspiration for a lot of people to make something of themselves.................................................................................................................................................................... of course I'm talking about Police Academy
Weirdly enough I finished watching the movie for the first time like an hour ago and noticed this new video was just uploaded. Not the best Matrix movie but entertaining enough
Always remember to like his videos. He needs the help with the algorithm
Thanks for rekindling my interest in this one, albeit just a little
Bugs...the glitch in the system...the spanner in the works...

U nvr let me down bro!!
Dude! You started your channel in times when Nostalgia Critic started. And still under 200K subs. BUT! You're still doing this! I'm watching you since 2015 and you're still alive(as an internet personality with the best hair). I still love you dude and you're still awesome! Keep going, man!
@@ShojoBakunyu just yesterday I watched Decker's predator and aliens reviews. And they're still awrsome!
@@ShojoBakunyu funny thing: there's a russian channel, that reviews hortor films and it has 1.2 mil. And his style is like Decker's. It's weird
I loved your take on this one! I haven't seen it yet because of the negative reviews, but I think I'll check it out now.
love to see this man is still active
Despite this movie being meh overall, I think bringing back Hugo Weaving as Smith would've upped this movies quality.
Ty Decker , wasn't sure about this one but will give it a go
If Chad is in the matrix, does that make him a Giga Chad?
Who has the best hair Decker or Keannu? This is the most pressing question.
Didn't even finish reading the question... When I automatically said Keanu.
Tbh I think I'll go rent this after watching your review.
I never bothered with this but now seeing your review makes me think I should pick it up.
17:10 That is LITERALLY how The Matrix Reloaded ended!
Great movie review Decker Shado
I enjoyed The Matrix Resurrections. It was a good movie
Huh, a few slick moments in the fight scenes.
Holy shit. Creation engine joke was excellent!
First time I am that early for Your video O.O I'm surprised that there is no outro music or additional notes at the end of video.
Excellent review , just started watching you again and i see you stepped up your game , i'm really enjoying your output
One of my favorite things to do is try to guess your final rating about a 1/4 of the way through , i got it right this time
Your video always put a smile on me, thanks
No Hugo Weaving really hurt this movie i reckon.
I honestly like the concept of how agent smith ultimately ended up being a double agent it brought a redemption arc
I liked the observation about Agent/Morpheus changing his life after seeing the code, until I realized that Neo designed the program and thus Agent/Morpheus wasn't an ACTUAL Matrix agent at all. Thus, that observation went from poignant, to pointless.
The comparison to Doug is so striking it’s scary.
You made me laugh my ass off with that creation engine comment 🤣
I didn't hate the movie at all. It was as good as #2 and #3 IMHO. A slightly above average sci-fi film.
This has probably been asked before, but why don't you do the "Notes" textcrawl at the end anymore? I miss them.
Love your videos, thought there was no reason, for this movie to exist. Story was already told. First was the best
Another great video!
I was so excited when this movie came out on HBO Max, and very quickly disappointed. I think that's just because I hyped myself up too much.
You're still one of the best. Keep up the great work.
The Wachowski brothers used to be the shit.
Happy Easter/Passover
Great review! Good to see you not giving up. You got skills Decker! All the best to you and your girl. Now as to the movie in question. Matrix 1 had a good and arguably definitive end. Matrix 3 had a VERY definitive end. This is the definition of pointless cash-grab.
This was as big a fail as the third bill and Ted movie
Except Face The Music was good
Bill and Ted: Face the Music was made PURELY for the fans.
Is the criteria that they need to be filmed back to back(cuz that would mean there is only 2 back to the future movies since 2 and 3 were filmed concurrently), of their story has to perfectly bleed and transition from 2 to 3 even without needing openings and endings(cuz THAT would mean there is only 2 lord of the rings movies)
.....i've yet to decide how 'ok' i am with this information.
I feel like I just took the Green pill. Another smash hit review!
i cannot believe that i didn't think of the name "Smorph"
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Weird, finally got a notification
If it was a twilight zone about how much it meant to the Anderson character it would have been great.
Movie was straight ass but makes for great reviews
funny enough i looked at this more of a satire/thriller but i like meta humour as long as it earns it and the movie certainly did. i cant fault lana for having to do workarounds given actors refused to come back and any differences are explained in the movie as them being different characters with influence from the originals tom has been neos boss and friend for 50 years which has a bit of influence on the returning smiths personality reset the memories dont go away they just make him more human
So many franchises butchered by "modern" hollywood
