Between the meh carry luggage and this $140 tote, I fear Aer has gone out of touch.

$140 US for a tote? No, thank you .... and I like Aer products.

For an ultra epx 400 it's one of the only few that is affordable relative to other brands using the same fabric.
Hard to beat alpaka though cause they got their elements tote which is much cheaper. Although the aer one has better organization imo. Plus the fidlock buckle is a nice touch. The ykk zipper compartments add to the cost as well.

@JayWing9 Yes, but the top is open, therefore allowing rain to get in. Using a waterproof fabric that only protects the sides isn't a great solution. The rain will come in from the top, not the sides. You might as well just use an inside trash bag liner, your stuff would be just as protected for a lot less money, and look the same from the outside.

@@mikeleone1347 yeah this is meant to be a non-rain light weight bag. its for those who care about technical materials. lots of totes on the market have an open design. Look at the trade joes tote. Arguable the Alpaka Bravo Tote Pro which is around the same price is the superior design. It can be configured with a shoulder strap and it has a zip closure at the top.
The alpaka elements tote has a non-open zip design.
There are a lot of ultra-minimal folks out that are into tech wear and rocking technical bags (pricey).
I own dyneema and ultra epx400 stuff so this tote is interesting to me IMO. I don't plan on buying it though but I appreciate how its very minimal and simple. This bag is not for the majority of people. The folks that are into Japan Rofmia, DSPTCH RND/dyneema, or Arc'teryx Veilance Nomins, Cote et Ciel Isars are the target demographic.
Aer Go Tote and Alpaka Totes are plenty value.
