An old monk told me the best way to test the quality of rakija is to pour some on your hands and rub it like hand sanitiser. If it ends up sticky, it's the sugar-added low quality stuff and will give you a wicked hangover. Best avoid.
Yes, indeed best rakijas that I tried were those from monasteries. Other than that mulberry Rakija is a crazy one. Not more than 3 shots are recommended.
I’m an American who was given rakija (the plum variety) and I loved it! I asked for a second pouring even though I am a lightweight. As I recall, it put me in a really good mood but made me slightly obnoxious.
I emptied a cupboard full of Rakija over six months which had been largely untouched for years when I was with my girlfriend in Bijeljina. Good stuff is an understatement and the infused variety is divine. We're five months in Blighty and I feel like I'm dying of thirst! 😂
Those flasks for the double-cooked and the "chokanchich" make rakija look like a magic potion. Its properties make it sound like one. Is it the Serbian equivalent of a health potion?
The joke amongst Serbs in Australia is “we are making jam” when buying huge amount of overripe fruit. 🤣🤣🤣🇦🇺

Monks definitely know their rakija!

Facts! Rakija causes no car crashes!
I'm telling you, it is those drunk crashers that give all us drunk drivers such a bad rap!

It is our secret weapon against anything 😅
I'm not much of a drinker but this sounds delicious
Nice
🙌
Slivovitz is quite popular worldwide, I've never seen any of the others though. I guess the plum brandy was just the most popular choice.
Always bottoms up. Fight me.
You should switch to tequila or vodka.
Oh, it's moonshine
xDDDD
"Almost as bad as making honey out of sugar" Is golden syrup that bad?
It is.
Only if you're not British, I think.
@@serbiaillustrated3050 🤣
What is a good brand that you can get in the U.S.?
You can find a brand or two of Slivovitz in most decent or good liquor stores. If possible, get a brand made in Serbia not by those dirty Croats. :)
Razočaran sam da se u Srbiji ne kaže "ispiti na h"...
ej, Yebiga
Southern Slavs eh? 🇬🇷🤨😂
