@@michaelkraus4135 I always felt like MJ would have made a great boxer. Footwork, wingspan, fast hands, fast feet, heavy hands, killer instinct, insane will to win
Thank you Mr. West. There's a difference in jumping high, jumping quick, jumping off either foot, gathering etc. MJ could jump any way however whenever as quickly and as high. He often didn't need to gather his steps to time his jump, he didn't need to take an extra dribble after a quick move, he didn't need to switch sides or hands, he just jumped. Which is why he made the game look so easy and some of his moves simple to the untrained eye. A casual will overlook his game and dismiss it as "oh, well... he didn't have handles, only 2 dribbles", "or he wasn't contested in that jumper". It takes a different level of skill to score when the defense is trained to stop you with only 2 (or less) dribbles while there are traps, zones, double and triple teams focused on you. It takes great skill and athleticism to leave someone that hasn't slept the night before guarding you, defenders that have tons of tape on you and their sole mission is to stop you flat footed. That shit aint easy to do. West is perhaps the GOAT scout, easily the most respected scout of all time with tons of experience. When he speaks everyone should take notes and listen.
Finally, Jerry West saying MJ is the most skilled player(he didn't say, MJ is one of the most skilled players) closes the case! No one should be compared against Michael Jordan. It's a blasphemy! Michael Jordan is the REAL GOAT!

I think its the exact opposite. He is known as a legendary GM, but most fans these days don't give a shit about his NBA days or just shit on his finals record.
@@jeremyb5862 yeah maybe I shouldn't of said "opposite". The point I was trying to make was that I don't think Jerry west is heavily slept on as a GM/executive like you stated. I'm sure nearly every NBA fan would've loved to have him on their team. Also the finals record is not a perspective I share. Just an observation based off of what I've read and heard from people over the years.
He has confirmed what we all knew already, Jordan is the greatest of all time. Jordan has been widely regarded as the GOAT ever since he retired by the vast majority of players, commentators, and spectators. So Lebron calls himself the GOAT, for him to actually be greater than Jordan, (I repeat, Jordan has been regarded as the GOAT for a long time now), he needs to have accomplished more career achievements, surpassed Jordan in skill level, and needs to have made a more notable stamp on basketball than Jordan. Jordan has more Championships, more MVP's, more finals MVP's, more scoring titles, and a defensive player of the year so clearly he hasnt surpassed Jordan. To watch both players, and compare pure highlights Jordan is light years ahead also. Jordans pure weight of unbelievably skillful plays dwarfs Lebrons. Lebron has some amazing dunks and impressive buzzer beaters yet does not come close to Jordans artistic, graceful, impossible plays of which there are hundreds. Jordan is simply beautiful to watch in everything he does. The perfect jump shot, the graceful and effortless athletic plays, the ability to hang in the air like no other in history. Lebron is big and strong, but certainly not beautiful to watch, not effortlessly skillful and mesmerising like Jordan.
Been trying to tell people (mostly some millennials that think they’ve seen and done more than everybody else) that Jordan was just different. They say you can’t have everything, but he did. I’ve never enjoyed watching any other player like I did watching Jordan.
Jordan was such a icon. I remember in the space jam intro song there was a image of every reporter in the gym surrounding Michael after a championship. No player has that type of power anymore. They will just talk to a player when they get a chance.
To hear those words of admiration and evaluation from the great Jerry West is a total validation of Michael Jordans greatness as a basketball player. Mj is just in a level higher than the rest. Individuals like Mj comes once in a lifetime. That's an objective truth from the legendary Jerry West.
Jerry West characterizes that cat agility in MJ spring well. If you check out the nearly free throw dunk MJ does on a break vs Dan Marjerle - he literally doesnt plant his foot down to elevate; he just taps this tippy toes on the floor and soars the distance for them dunk. Truly amazing.
On top of all MJ's skill, killer instinct, and athleticism is the fact that he also had a near 7ft wing span as a guard with a hand size that's top 10 of all players to ever play in the NBA. He really was a perfect storm, there will be no other and honestly it only deminishes other players trying to compare them to him. GOAT
Agree wit the Logo viewpoint that Michael "The Black Cat" Jordan, plus Hakeem "The dream" Olujawon are the most complete, flawless, skilled players on offense and defense that's ever played in the BAA/NBL/ABA/NBA history, Basketball G.O.A.T.s
Jerry west may be the 2nd biggest contributor to basketball after James Naismith hinself. He was a top legendary player, a pretty good coach and a great GM.
To me, if you’re supposed to be in the GOAT debate and your own teammates pick MJ above you, that speak volumes. Consider that Jerry West who played with Wilt, and Magic who played with Kareem, both pick MJ above their teammates for GOAT.
Michae Jordan- One player was both the most athletic and the most fundamental ever, the best offensive player and the best defender ever, the best trash talker and the most humble ever, the most vicious dunker and the most graceful layup maker, the best dunker and the best mid-range shooter ever, not the tallest and not the shortest, and I could keep going, but you get the point already.
And Prime Kobe (Dominated offense and D) but there was some great defensive players in his time who just straight focused on D no offense like Raja, Bowen, Artest, KG in Boston, Big Ben, etc.
I'm from Slovenia and recently had a conversation with a guy who said Luka could end up as the greatest of all times. I simply replied with no way. And there is a simple reason why. You have to play both ends of the floor. Luka went from bad to average defender but will never be able to be elite where he's winning defensive player of the year awards. Micahel was such a freak of nature, such a competitive guy that he grinded even on defense to the point where he was the best player even on that side of the court.
He just rose up over him with no takeoff space elbow over the rim. It was just like one of those cartoon characters who jumps straightout of their shoes when you sneak up and scare them.
Why would Jerry West lie? He told the absolute truth. Michael Jordan is the GOAT and there's nothing the Jordan HATERS, Scottie Pippen fanboys or the LeBron James fanboys can do or say about it.
Bill Walton: *"Without question, no hesitation, Kareem Abdul Jabbar was the best player I've ever played against, not just the best center ever, but the best player ever, he was better than Magic, better than Larry, and better than Michael."* Kareem Abdul Jabbar: *"his (Jordan) incredible athletic ability and charisma on the court helped make the game more popular around the globe, no question about that, but in terms of greatness, MJ needs to take a backseat to the Stilt (Wilt)."* Magic Johnson: *"Nobody was better than Larry Bird, Michael Jordan can do incredible things, including moves I have never seen before, but Larry Bird was the only player I feared."* Larry Bird after the celtics swept the bulls in 1986: *"Magic is just a great basketball player, he's the best I've ever seen."* These players played against Jordan and do not think Jordan is the GOAT, and there is nothing that Jordan worshipers can do about that 😆😆🤣🤣

i think he's got the perfect combination of skill and athleticism. it's very rare to have both at a high level but what made him 1 of 1 is that he was doing it on a totally different level than everybody else. quick as a cat, footspeed in the open floor, crazy balance, high elevation on jumpshots, hangtime in the air which was 2nd to none, and could get off the floor so easily. combine that with arguably the best skillset, the most competitive player the league has seen, and a mentality/drive like no other. people can call it over exaggeration if they want but mj had it all.
Yup. I remember LeBron completely giving up last playoffs. Didn't even bother walking past half court on a few plays. MJ would never.
There's MJ and there's the rest. The GOAT.
I’m so happy as a Chicagoan to have been lucky enough to see him play. I was born in 83 so I didn’t see all his games but I remember from the Lakers finals on. The bulls were truly fun as hell to watch, it was appointment TV for Chicago back then.
I'm far younger and remember him playing. I was born in 92' from Chicago
SPEAK THAT!!! I miss it so much!! The closest I felt like that again was when we drafted D. 🌹
I was born and raised on the southside of Chicago in 1971 and I saw MJ's whole career. The 80's MJ was off the charts.
That's when I got introduced to basketball gambling and physical discipline
Jerry is right. MJ’s game will always stick and never diminish. I don’t think will ever see a MJ in basketball ever again.

Y’all Got Jerry FUCKIN WEST for your 4th interview thats Craaazy
The logo just confirmed what I've always thought. Jordan is the most complete player ever
His athleticism was so top notch that people didn't paying attention to his skill set.
His arms were very long that helped his defense. He has always said that he is almost 6' 4''. I have not seen anyone that stopped on a dime & went vertically soo fast on his jump shot
Exactly. He was well beyond Dominique or even Clyde as an overall player. He had that athletic ability plus the Skills and fundamentals of Oscar and Jerry.

But Phil Jackson said kobe is more skilled. He coached both and definitely liked Jordan more. Kobe and him had beef.
One thing that strikes me most is that MJ is always humble when talking about other great players of different eras.

Jerry West not only one of the greatest NBA players all-time himself. But people sleep on him heavily as a NBA executive/GM. What he did for the Lakers in the 80s And early 00s Lakers and Grizzles. And then being the Warriors executive and winning championships 2015 and 2017.
I think its the exact opposite. He is known as a legendary GM, but most fans these days don't give a shit about his NBA days or just shit on his finals record.

@@mrdan523 he is the most forgotten great. But mentioned in top 10s although could be
He has confirmed what we all knew already, Jordan is the greatest of all time.
Jerry tell no lies 🐐🐐
Jerry West is actually under hyping MJ up.. MJ was just that good.. the GOAT
Was my thoughts as well
I think he's talking about that dunk on Ewing. He said most spectacular plays he's ever seen... Speaks volumes.
Was thinking the same thing. Fakes out Starks and Oakley I believe.
Been trying to tell people (mostly some millennials that think they’ve seen and done more than everybody else) that Jordan was just different.
They say you can’t have everything, but he did.
I’ve never enjoyed watching any other player like I did watching Jordan.
Agreed- I am glad to have watched him in his prime
The logo and the GOAT had much RESPECT vice versa 🔨🎯💯
Jordan was such a icon. I remember in the space jam intro song there was a image of every reporter in the gym surrounding Michael after a championship. No player has that type of power anymore. They will just talk to a player when they get a chance.
When the logo says your the best, what more can you say 🤷🏻♂️
MJ GREATEST 🐐
People forget he’s the only athlete who had crazy GOD given talent and meshed them with great fundamentals and skill set
It was god given talent like you may think…his will to train AS HARD AS HE POSSIBLY COULD is what it was. MJ was an extremely determined human.

To hear those words of admiration and evaluation from the great Jerry West is a total validation of Michael Jordans greatness as a basketball player. Mj is just in a level higher than the rest. Individuals like Mj comes once in a lifetime. That's an objective truth from the legendary Jerry West.
Jerry's seen them ALL.
RIP Jerry West 💙
Jerry West characterizes that cat agility in MJ spring well. If you check out the nearly free throw dunk MJ does on a break vs Dan Marjerle - he literally doesnt plant his foot down to elevate; he just taps this tippy toes on the floor and soars the distance for them dunk. Truly amazing.
I still don't think most people realize how great Jordan truly was. Jerry West did.
Saying what everybody with knowledge already knows. 🐐
When the logo says that, gotta be true
On top of all MJ's skill, killer instinct, and athleticism is the fact that he also had a near 7ft wing span as a guard with a hand size that's top 10 of all players to ever play in the NBA. He really was a perfect storm, there will be no other and honestly it only deminishes other players trying to compare them to him. GOAT

When the Logo talks, you listen. Didn't mention LeFraud any where in that clip.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT.
No he's not he's a GOD
Jerry west may be the 2nd biggest contributor to basketball after James Naismith hinself. He was a top legendary player, a pretty good coach and a great GM.
To me, if you’re supposed to be in the GOAT debate and your own teammates pick MJ above you, that speak volumes. Consider that Jerry West who played with Wilt, and Magic who played with Kareem, both pick MJ above their teammates for GOAT.
I say it all the time Michael Jeffrey Jordan was in class all by himself. Best to ever do it !!!
When great people says that MJ is the Best,ITS mean the truth

From west...that's some shit right there. Cause west is a legend.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT and there's nothing the Jordan HATERS, Scottie Pippen fanboys or the LeBron James fanboys can do or say about it.
Bill Walton: *"Without question, no hesitation, Kareem Abdul Jabbar was the best player I've ever played against, not just the best center ever, but the best player ever, he was better than Magic, better than Larry, and better than Michael."*
Kareem Abdul Jabbar: *"his (Jordan) incredible athletic ability and charisma on the court helped make the game more popular around the globe, no question about that, but in terms of greatness, MJ needs to take a backseat to the Stilt (Wilt)."*
Magic Johnson: *"Nobody was better than Larry Bird, Michael Jordan can do incredible things, including moves I have never seen before, but Larry Bird was the only player I feared."*
Larry Bird after the celtics swept the bulls in 1986: *"Magic is just a great basketball player, he's the best I've ever seen."*
