It's funny, in the past I was okay with Sony phones having LCD screens but seeing one with an AMOLED is like the missing piece of the puzzle. Sony makes the most underrated Android phones.
I too felt there was something missing with the Sony xz3. But after doing a lot of research about the phone and it's design, I was convinced that this is the best thing to do with the xz3. The bezels are slightly larger than the s9, because Sony has front firing Dolby stereo speakers! The back panel is curved because, the front is a curved OLED display. So a flat back like in xz1 or z5 won't look nice. It will be ugly and moronic. But Sony designers have made a masterpiece with the best in every possible way. Some people think a couple of mm is going to ruin their smartphone experience! But buying a Note 9 with a couple mm thinner with no bigger battery or no stereo front speakers or no AI influenced software and hardware is plain stupid. And the iPhone X and it's newer siblings look awful. A new set of colors is their new 2018 release, and people go crazy about it! c'mon gimme a break!

This is Sony's first Daydream VR compatible smartphone. Plus it has 3D scanning software included as well. So you can scan objects and people. Then use those scanned images in VR or AR apps. Or use them in 3D printing software.

In terms of the best, *it's definitely in the top 5 Xperia smartphones that Sony have ever made for sure.* And the XZ3 takes great lowlight photos! You can use *Photo editor* to make dark areas look a bit brighter... *And you can edit the photos in many other ways.*
The real problem is that Sony should have released this phone in March of this year as the xz2 now in October they will need to contend with iPhone xs and pixel 3

Hope you'd bring back some of the stuff. That particular pattern of testing made it very easy to make cross comparison between devices even if they weren't pit together like say the speaker performance etc. Keep it up, cheers 👍🏼.

Will wait for the XZ4 premium with a 4k Oled display and even better low light top notch performance as seen on the XZ2 premium which beats the S9 and P20 to name just a few of those it has smashed so far. The XZ2 premium right now is the best camera on a smartphone overall.
I pre-ordered this phone and the only thing I can't appreciate is that only Taiwan version gets the 6 Gb RAM version. 4 Gb is not enough for a 2018 phone.
learn about what RAM is and how Memory Management works and then complain about how much RAM you need. its really informative and understandable why a Japanese company is opting to go for a 4GB against others where the requirements are still under 2Gb for any smartphone. please don't fall for paper based specifications. 6Gb RAM is no better than 4Gb unless its going to run Grand theft auto V in it ;)
I have a xz & itcamera shuts down in mins. due to over heat. No one talks on that .... As it ovr heats it starts lagging. Horrible experience from a flagship. I am so confused abut has Sony address this issue?

Just received, the September security patch on my XZ Premium, Pie is being tested right now (as shown by some leaks) and should arrive in November, and it has been the first phone to get Oreo after the Pixel if I'm not mistaken. So Sony is pretty great at updates, among the best in my opinion.

I always like to run an Android (usually a Note because of the stylus) and an iPhone mainly because of the different features each platforms offer. IOS does a much better job as a daily organiser. Note I can Jot down quick notes with 'always on'. If I update it will be 6S Plus for XS don't need 2 large tablets. Looking forward to Note 10 with 4,500 mAh battery, pop-up camera.
If they market this phone at the right price! They have a winner! After 7 years* since Samsung s2. Seeing the price of the new note 9, I am done with Samsung. If they can price this phone at 700-800 range then they have themselves a winner! No way am I paying £60 pounds a month for a phone with only 20gb. I don't understand the phone manufacturers's hate and abandonment of the headphone jack when customers and reviewers are repeatedly disapproving this decision. Are they deliberately being ignorant? Apart from smartphones, everything with audio STILL uses a headphone jack (not necessarily 3.5mm). So why fuck up the audio experience in smartphones? Also, Water resistance upto ip67 is fine and can easily be done whilst keeping the headphone jack. So that argument is out of the window, straightaway. Secondly, the space. Samsung note 8 and note 9 can easily cram a battery, an s-pen and a headphone jack with ip-68 water rating. So the argument about saving space is just bullcrap. The saddest thing is we, as consumers are allowing thos fuckery to happen.

its a myth to get a super fast 30s shutter and the longevity of servos cannot handle tht with the shutter speeds. anyway to achieve that, Sony has been allowing manual mode since its days of the Xperia Z where the ISO and Brightness manual control indirectly controls shutter speeds

Sony is getting there with the design, but still not quite there. Location of the fingerprint scanner, missing headphone jack... And I also dislike that sidebar touch feature. Hopefully it can be turned off. And the camera could be better.
to be honest bro, the fingerprint scanner is in the perfect spot, awkwardly enough it was perfect when taking it out of the pocket or off a table the finger was placed there naturally and the moment I see the screen, its already unlocked and ready to go. plus snapdragon has released their new line of chipsets which do not support headphone jack anymore. So almost all phones will come without the jack anymore

yeah I guess I have to agree that some people might have a problem but I have long fingers being a bigger guy. yeah and snapdragon have a direction towards Microsoft devices than the regular Android as well. Sony has LDAC man. you should try the wireless audio with some cheap ass earphones and be amazed. fortunately I could afford a Sony one and the base is off the roof. try something new and trust me with Sony you'll get a liking towards it cause the quality is there but people stay back from the paper based features only not realizing the actual potential to a smartphone. one negative I might say is the camera isn't the best at lowlights but its a perfectly awesome during day time and I have taken some amazing shots with it using a tripod too. the Design of the XZ2 is just perfect with the weight and ergonomics. if you could go around and get a feel for the device by person and theres a chance you might be really surprised

No head phone jack was a bad idea sony, after my xz1 will have to switch to another model.
any new phone after this snapdragon series cannot have headphone jack anyway since the support of 3.5mm jack has been removed by snapdragon chipsets

box out the edges only showing the screen....do it to top end phones with samsung, apple, huawei etc etc..... show to average user and tell them to guess which screen quality is what phone brand/model. point is no one cares anymore about quality or even guess right, it should be given as a base standard to all phones. ive been Sony for 7 years and not once i got a compliment within my network of friends about quality..not once. and whats the point with facebook etc downscales it and people add filters? ...just saying

why do people still call it 32, 64, 128, 512 gigs of storage, the system depending on the phone takes 12 gigs alone, minus the useless apps most manufacturers tend to install takes like 20 gigs out of the storage in total.

Sony is getting there with the design, but still not quite there. Location of the fingerprint scanner, missing headphone jack... And I also dislike that sidebar touch feature. Hopefully it can be turned off. And the camera could be better.
to be honest bro, the fingerprint scanner is in the perfect spot, awkwardly enough it was perfect when taking it out of the pocket or off a table the finger was placed there naturally and the moment I see the screen, its already unlocked and ready to go. plus snapdragon has released their new line of chipsets which do not support headphone jack anymore. So almost all phones will come without the jack anymore

Oh, that's kinda sad news about the jack if it's true. I have a pair of wireless headphones lying around, but the quality ain't always that great. Not sure if it's just my phone or the headphones.
yeah I guess I have to agree that some people might have a problem but I have long fingers being a bigger guy. yeah and snapdragon have a direction towards Microsoft devices than the regular Android as well. Sony has LDAC man. you should try the wireless audio with some cheap ass earphones and be amazed. fortunately I could afford a Sony one and the base is off the roof. try something new and trust me with Sony you'll get a liking towards it cause the quality is there but people stay back from the paper based features only not realizing the actual potential to a smartphone. one negative I might say is the camera isn't the best at lowlights but its a perfectly awesome during day time and I have taken some amazing shots with it using a tripod too. the Design of the XZ2 is just perfect with the weight and ergonomics. if you could go around and get a feel for the device by person and theres a chance you might be really surprised

OLED is really a very very bad decision. IPS was the feature I respected Sony. XZ 2 Premium is still the best Sony phone.
