      War on pollution? China is the worst polluter on Earth they are not waging war on pollution they are waging war on puritization. Wanna stop pollution figure out ways to grow large rainforests in short amount of time. The batteries in those EVs will pollute the ground they are discarded on for thousands of years..... people are so stupid.

    China's per capita carbon emission is tiny in comparison, but that still isn't the full picture, because a portion of that is actually carbon emission caused by industry, they're just attributed to the Chinese people. carbon emission from day to day living is even lower.
    Western countries exports their industrial capacity to China, which means they export their pollution to China as well, it's the same situation as the foreign trash ban, the west THINKS they are environmental warriors by recycling, but not realizing they're just exporting most of their recycled plastic to China.

    China has also embraced the truths about wind and solar: that they will not scale as needed, their intermittency, their cradle to grave environmental and resource costs. Underpinning China's energy development efforts 8s the pursuit of Generation 4, low pressure, high temperature nuclear technology. Not the old solid fuel pressurized water cooled variety of reactor ( although they are still building some PWRs), but a new and modern fleet that will not be subject to the problems and flaws of the 45 year old design found in the worlds 450, or so, commercial reactors now in operation around the world. A nuclear renaissance is currently in progress, and China is leading the way forward to effectively de-coupling energy abundance from negative environmental and human health effects. When they succeed, and they will, China will be an unstoppable economic force, benefitting not only from their own energy abundance to power their growth internally, but exporting their nuclear expertise around the world. Ask yourself this: might it be time to re-examine your superstitious beliefs about nuclear power (promulgated by fossil fuel interests) and instead become scientifically literate about the true scale of humankind's energy demands, and nuclear power's pathway to a decarbonized future. It will require that you think clearly, objectively, and with an open mind - without interference from "what you've heard", but haven't actually investigated. Consider yourself challenged to LEARN.

Instead, EU prefer export them on landfields in Africa. They are basically exporting pollution, and let other countries do the environmental degradation.

      @MrMattumbo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Problem is those scooters aren't made with durability and quality in mind, just cost/profit, so they end being trashed after a year or two, and as you can imagine they aren't disposed of in environmentally safe ways. They also have a habit of catching fire randomly and discharging all their toxic chemicals into the air when they do, as well as injuring the rider. (lithium-ion batteries are like incendiary bombs when they discharge)
      Combine that with the coal power used to charge them it's hard to say if they're really helping the environment as a whole, but they do reduce the smog in big cities while any problems resulting from their disposal, manufacture, and charging are dispersed across a wider area making them less visible to the layman.

      @@orppranator5230 I am not sold on the idea of human caused global warming either. But I still only release about 2 tons of CO2:e each year, which is really low.
      First: There are other problems with releasing CO2 in to the atmosphere. CO2 is solvable in water to form carbonic acid. This increases the Ph value of the ocean and becomes a threat to sensitive eco systems. Methane breaks down the ozone layer. Perhaps not on the level of freons, but still. Over consumption also leads to other forms pollution and destruktions of the environment.
      Second: If such a huge majority of the scientists believes in this stuff I feel like it is dumb to take the risk. I mean when over consumption doesn't really benefit our society.

    现在除了阴天,每天都能看到蓝色的天空,不管夏天还是冬天。
