As a therapist, one is always looking for new effective ways to help those with varying degrees of addiction, this video provides a very interesting perspective. If done properly especially when combined with a workbook like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Worksheets for Substance Abuse by Portia Cruise, it becomes a lot easier to help patients track their progress, stay motivated, and avoid relapse.

Drug abuse is a serious problem that can pose many risks to individuals and society. In order to prevent substance abuse, measures such as prevention education and establishment of a support system for families and society can be taken.

It may also be that people with ADHD have access to substances that can be abused through the stimulants that they are prescribed (riddilin, adderal)

true but one of my sons with severe adhd did not have access to meds and became addicted to drugs while his brother who took meds did not.

It makes sense on the surface but a lot of data says that taking medications from a young enough age reduces the risk

So, I don't think drugs are essentially bad. The addiction is bad. People and media every time show how the drugs are bad, wrong, destructive. Hard drugs probably are. I think that the reasonable, intelligent, and responsible usage of soft drugs like let´s say weed, MDMA (few times a year), and LSD might have more positives than negatives. What do you guys think? I have been using weed past few years while with friends (app. 2 times a week). Sometimes I do LSD (app. 4 times a year) and MDMA (4-6 times a year) Sometimes I use kratom because it helps me with falling asleep, which is my lifetime problem, helped me million times more than shitty sleep pills. Never had a problem with addiction, learned a lot of facts about neurobiology, and never tried things like meth or heroine, which doesn´t attract me at all, also gained a lot of interesting thoughts about art, science, society thanks to responsible drug usage. Had a lot of interesting discussions with my friend who is finishing medical university, wants to continue with psychiatry and is interested in self-research of psychedelics and mdma. Shouldn´t we consider drugs as beneficial, even under some moderate recreational usage, when they cause no harm? What do you think?
