Nice motor. Good to hear the engine shut itself down, and good diagnostics. I wonder if the owner ever changed the water pump? Then again, duck hunters tend to go through mucky water. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. Only 17 hours. she must have been running dry. Its amazing how fast the friction can build to melt that plastic and bake the impeller hard. I think I'm having the same issue with my 18 horse and a stiff impeller, shes pumping but still seems to be on the hot side. Time for a new one. thx

+eastcoastadventurous, They are nice motors, One thing that puzzle's me is no pee stream, they blubber directly out the back just like a 1950''s Bigtwin. I guess keeping a watch over engine cooling is now the job of the EMM. KODI

I would love to buy an E-TEC 25 HP in Costa Rica where I live. However, the former dealer has switched to Mercury and they seemed to have washed their hands with BRP. So, how hard is it to purchase the diagnostics software, does it run on PC and/or MAC and is using XD 100 a must? Warm Regards, Robert

You’ve got a great channel here,just found it. I’ve got a 1989 25 hp Johnson. The impeller assembly looks like the one we just replaced. We went insert the bottom end shaft assembly and it won’t fully insert. It’s a 1/4 of an inch from being fully inserted. Was hoping you might have inserted the shaft on this video. We’re doing something wrong I think

Did u put any greas on the splines? was there a oring on the shaft near the top? Try slowley turning the flywheel clockwise while inserting the shaft.. kb

The piss stream in my 2014 etec is weak like this one in the first half of the video. I just replaced the entire water pump assembly about 10-15hrs ago. I’m Not sure if something is clogged or what.

Most likely one of the hoses is clogged. Use compressed air and unhook the tubes and blow thru then. That’s what was wrong with mine. I did new water pump and still didn’t have a stream then unhooked few hoses and found clog. Think I might still have a lil bit of a clog but it atleast has a stream. I’m new to all this also.
