This is such s retro style voice over. It reminds me of driver's education videos. :) I have one player that's dead, but I think it's just a fuse. I'll use this video when I need it. Thanks for making this. Take care, Sam.

Replaced this part and installed as instructed, my laserdisc now works perfectly again! The original m-holder had a broken gear holder. Thanks again!

Used your part to fix my D505. It's silky smooth and perfectly working now. Thanks! 🎉

Hi, I was curious how similar the internals of the 505 are layout wise in comparison to the 504. Thank you in advance!

Nice job. I use your belts and they are always great. Might pick one of these up as a spare.

    Great tutorial !
It would have been very helpful a couple of years ago when I replaced the m-holder of my R7-G

Is this m-holder suitable for the CLD-D604? I believe it has a different part number but I’m really not certain to be totally honest!!

Your player's service manual calls for part number VNL-1637. Doing some digging on the LDDB forums reveals that it should indeed be interchangeable with VNL-1779. The 1637 was just an earlier revision.

@@ethangallo8480 great, thanks for the info I really appreciate it! I’ve suddenly started having some issues, thanks to a label that came off a disc mid-playback… I was able to fish it out but the unit’s really not playing quite the same way as it was for all the years I’ve owned it, particularly on side B... I’m not really sure if the m-holder is the issue yet. But I may pick up a couple of these, just in case. Never hurts to be prepared if/when a replacement may be needed.

@@MrRom92DAW If the M-holder has cracked axles, sometimes it will still be able to play side A if the gears are still floating in place, particularly if the lower axle is still intact because it holds the top gear captive. Usually on the side B change, things will get fouled up. All that to say, if your player can still make the A/B transition, it's probably not the M-Holder, but strange things do happen. I wouldn't rule it out completely, but I'd think it might be an alignment issue especially if the side B issues are toward the end of the side's playback.

Does this fit the CLD-99 elite player as well ?

No, the 99 uses a different transport mechanism.
