Met Travis once...surprisingly enough... My best friend's mom is good friends with all of the dudes in the band, and got to speak with him once...SUPER nice dude.
I'm glad in the comments everyone who can't spell suddenly becomes a guitar expert. Baritone guitars have longer scale lengths specifically so they can be tuned lower without reduced string tension. Other guitars are more than capable of being set up for baritone tunings, but a baritone just makes it easier.
I hope we can get everyone to listen to coheed before they make a final album. I look at all these old comments from years ago, I hope the algorithm brings us together
Ah Travis. I met him at a bar one time at one of my dad's shows (really good friends with the guitarist in my pops' band haha) and damn was he chill. I was i think 15 at the time and it was so cool. We talked all about guitars and shit till literally 3 in the morning. Chillest dude i think ive ever talked to.
I first heard these guys from playing "Welcome Home" in _Rock Band 1_, it's such an awesome song and they're a really cool band. Also, Claudio has maybe some the coolest hair ever in my opinion
As of 2017 (at least at their Chicago show) Travis is using that blue SG for most of the show, when they played their Good Apollo Neverender tour. He switched to the gold top for Wake Up (probably due to the guitar's tone) and then the black LP for Islands, Delirium Trigger, and Keeping Secrets, if I remember correctly.
i got the pick the claudio was using when he was warming up backstage at the 2011 Halifax NS show. the one on the left at 11:33. my friends got it for me because they knew due to other circumstances i had a super shitty time at the show. it was my prized possession and it was stolen a week later. i still think about it every day. :(
I just think it's interesting how differently each player sets up his/her rig depending on what they feel is important. As much as I love music and the guitar, some are a little hard to follow, at least for a novice.
Rebecca is such a good interviewer, knows her gear and the bands she is speaking to. Knows when to listen and when to advance the conversation. She needs to come back
So at 14:49, he pulls out an SG. I was in edmonton going to their No World For Tomorrow concert. I brought my blue strat with a black 3-ply pick guard for them to sign. Travis took a second at me and said "that's a really nice guitar". I'm not saying he copied me, but that's a fine looking SG =P
PLEASE UPDATE THIS WITH THE NEW TOUR!! We know they are still running axe fx but, the guitars have changed now! Also, you should do bass and drums, too!!!
They said in the vid that the EMGs are ancient history, but he was using an Explorer with EMGs 2 tours ago when I saw them. To my knowledge he's always been stock, or EMGs. He also used a strat on the Afterman Ascension tour, with either Lace or EMG pickups. (Couldnt see from my seat.) Crazy awesome video :D
Claudio's tech gave me their setlist off the stage at bonnaroo 2008 after the show. Took it to the signing tent and they were about to leave cause they had to get to their bus so their manager took me to the front of the line and I have all their sigs on the setlist off the 2008 bonnaroo stage. Thanks bud!!! Well he really gave it to my girlfriend at the time because I thought her charm would work better on him than mine. ;P I hung in the shadows watching her sweet talk him.
This was cool but, I was really hoping to hear Claudio talk about this gear. But yeah still cool to watch nonetheless. Edit: nope.. just watched another video with Claudio... just nope.. His tech know what's up.
rebecca was amazing for 21:48.....the guys were ok ...great interview...enjoyed it

There is one famous contemporary exception to 6-strings which is the Epiphone Rob Flynn Love&Death V which was also a baritone. I find it really absurd that Premier Guitar censors the curse words, this is not a major network broadcast after all!
Baritones range up to 30 inches. A small bass. You will only really see this scale on 7/8 string guitars. 6 strings usually stop at around 28 inch scale. Regular guitar scale lengths are 25.5" scale lwngtb
can you tell me the brand of those rack cases? they look good. floating shockmount goodness, they look like you could throw them off a building confidently
+Chris Mortlock Without Bass, you have no groove. Whatever clever reply you might want to use, will be fruitless. But, of course you will anyway......pity. \m/
PGeorge61 I'm aware of this fact because I'm not an idiot and understand a band dynamic. You can put the pity card on the table to try to be the smart guy but the fact of the matter is that in this case I was making what is referred to commonly as a "joke".
hitting those harmonics are hella easy on the bridge pickup. its hard to get that high pitched squealy noise with that fatter tone of the neck. just if anyone wanted to know. im pretty sure that's why they changed the bridge pickups primarily to get that better sound. it also cuts through easier.
Rebecca is DEAD ON with her questions. When anything unusual comes up she is on it. Example: the baritone. Rebecca: "what's the tuning?" Great job.
Hahaha!
+1 AlaskanAssassin She seems very knowledgeable tho.
Explorer766 yea, she's like of one of 4 real women on planet earth.
For real, she knows her shit, it's a beautiful thing. She asked about pickups, setups and model/make preference. She's badass.
Watch the Meshuggah video. She's so intelligent in that one. The tech gets the other guitarist's instrument: "Does he play in the same tuning?"
Travis is a lot like a kid that wants to show you his toy collection. Loved the enthusiasm. haha
Damn, she's asking solid questions without missing a beat.
Seriously, this is the first one of these I've watched where it felt like the host actually knew what to ask and what was unnecessary bullshit.
Bc she actually knows her shit
Rebecca dirks should be the head interviewer. Perfect questions.
Never got bored of this interview. Well done Rebecca. Watched everything
I love how you can hear Claudio singing/playing in the background
man, Travis was probably the most entertaining guy so far on these rig run downs! Seems like such a chill guy!
Please do another rig rundown with Coheed and Cambria. I'd love to see an update of their rigs, this time including Zach Cooper their bassist
Met Travis once...surprisingly enough... My best friend's mom is good friends with all of the dudes in the band, and got to speak with him once...SUPER nice dude.
I wish at the end of every video they show like one song from the set
That would be epic and way more logical
I'm glad in the comments everyone who can't spell suddenly becomes a guitar expert. Baritone guitars have longer scale lengths specifically so they can be tuned lower without reduced string tension. Other guitars are more than capable of being set up for baritone tunings, but a baritone just makes it easier.
i miss her so much
I hope we can get everyone to listen to coheed before they make a final album. I look at all these old comments from years ago, I hope the algorithm brings us together

"I go high, I'm Dave motherfucking Gibney!"
Travis seems to be a very nice guy. Awesome rundown. One of the best ones so far.
No worries, we got a RR with Dustie and Paul coming out in two weeks!
I first heard these guys from playing "Welcome Home" in _Rock Band 1_, it's such an awesome song and they're a really cool band. Also, Claudio has maybe some the coolest hair ever in my opinion

always disappointed when it isn't the players themselves doing the rundown
props to travis for being there
I listen to all this gear reviews and gig rundowns all day and I dont even play guitar. Is just the background noise for my hw
I am not sure why, but I respect the hell outta that!!
I do play bass but im not into gear and stuff
I just think it's interesting how differently each player sets up his/her rig depending on what they feel is important. As much as I love music and the guitar, some are a little hard to follow, at least for a novice.
Dave Robles
Yeah for sure. I will defo check out orange amps after watching this vid.
Just saw Coheed last month in denver and it's kinda cool hearing more from the guy I saw frantically running on and off stage for the guitar swaps.
omg PREMIER! I LOVE YOU FOR THIS!!! FINALLY
Dusty from Between the Buried and me at 12:04
Rebecca is such a good interviewer, knows her gear and the bands she is speaking to. Knows when to listen and when to advance the conversation. She needs to come back
I've got EMGs in my 95 SG Classic. It has such crazy bite. It's a good way to make sure your guitar always stands out in a mix.
So at 14:49, he pulls out an SG.

Gonna see them in 11 days! Can't wait!
Rebecca knows her stuff. Doesn't BS around. Get's us the right info. Good job
Travis uses the same picks as me! I absolutely love those picks so much.
Love the fact that you can hear Claudio in the back.
Claudio's tech gave me their setlist off the stage at bonnaroo 2008 after the show. Literally just got done batchin' about wanting to hear about their guitars on *True Ugly* and *FINALLY!*
Great video, I've been looking forward to this, but would have loved to see Zach's bass rig too!
Damn - that was great! I love the Rig Rundown. Rebecca is freakin' awesome!! Trav is so freakin cool!
Good to see Dustie from BTBAM at 12:07... Shame we couldn't get a Rig Rundown for them.
Travis' stupid smile and wave just made my day that much better
A friend of mine actually won that guitar a few years back when they came to Orlando.
This was cool but, I was really hoping to hear Claudio talk about this gear. But yeah still cool to watch nonetheless.
Edit: nope.. just watched another video with Claudio... just nope..
His tech know what's up.
It was the best show I've ever been to.
Super excited to hear that!!! Paul is a modern guitar god!
Any plans for a Matt Bellamy or Chris Wolstenholme rig rundown?
rebecca was amazing for 21:48.....the guys were ok ...great interview...enjoyed it

What I like about Rebecca is that she really knows her shit unlike some other folks
Followed this tour for a week including the Des Moines show, most everyone I talked to post show thought BTBAM shouldn't have been on the tour at all
Milo spotting 0:40. Hell yea Descendents!
I attended that show. It was great!
I love bareknuckles... has Claudio always been into those, or is that a relatively knew change he's trying out?
Aye she is right on the money , knows her stuff and sharp as a tack , she does the best rundowns by far ,
At 04:53 he states the Taylor uses their Infinity pickup system, did he mean Expression system?
I used to be the biggest Coheed fan ever. Glad to see they're still rocking. Also, glad to hear they're phasing out the EMG's. haha
2:50 Claudio's laugh - "Hahaha!"
Travis is adorably awkward and I love him.
oh Travis' guitar guy always looks so hilarious and epic when he's up pre-show setting up the sound.
What gauge strings are used on the double neck guitar, top neck and bottom neck?
They both have specific guitars for sentry the defiant that makes sense to me because of just how much that song stands out
I vaguely remember Claudio playing a Minarik Medusa, whatever happened to that awesome guitar?
its not about impressing people, it's about what works best for you
Oh snap! how am I just finding this now?
Awesome video guys!
You guys should try to get some Rig Rundowns done on the new
Papa Roach + Escape The Fate tour
Any chance of posting the link to the video. Saw it once on youtube and was never able to find it again. thanks
A baritone, is a guitar, I think, with a longer neck and bigger frets, etc..
Much used for lower tunings.
anybody else notice dustie waring during the black les paul part?
Do one for Josh! Ive always wondered about his kits
can you tell me the brand of those rack cases? they look good. floating shockmount goodness, they look like you could throw them off a building confidently
Cherry explorer neck pickup installed upside down?
Based off two marshall leads? But the USA Lead 2 amp models are based on Mesa Mark IVs
Updated Coheed please 🙏
Is the white explorer Claudios first explorer? I've seen early Coheed videos with Claud using only 1 white explorer.
All they are are guitars that have 24 frets (or more in some cases) rather than the standard 22.
In two weeks.
where is the bass love?
Robert Green no one cares about bass
Chris Mortlock u dum yo
Kevin Oneal Very articulate, thanks for your input... yo.
+Chris Mortlock Without Bass, you have no groove. Whatever clever reply you might want to use, will be fruitless. But, of course you will anyway......pity. \m/

But WHICH Nailbombs? Alnico? Ceramic?
Good questions, but the awkward silences and other video recording troubles they had could have been cleaned up much better in video editing.
please do a richie sambora rig rundown!!
stock gibson pick ups ??? is it me or should this tec know what gibson pick ups are in the guitars ???
Brian Kulakowski Its just you.
hitting those harmonics are hella easy on the bridge pickup. its hard to get that high pitched squealy noise with that fatter tone of the neck. just if anyone wanted to know. im pretty sure that's why they changed the bridge pickups primarily to get that better sound. it also cuts through easier.
big up for using collar mic's, I could hear everything clearly. kthanksbye.
Those explorer's are beautiful.
what is a baritone guitar? like what defines baritone different from a regular electric?
Any chance of a rig rundown with Queens of the Stone Age?
Yeah, a Muse rig rundown would be pretty cool!
DAMN, this host is amazing!
when are you uploading the btbam rig rundown?
Great questions by the interviewee. Every question I had you asked (:
She has an amazing job
Awe, Claud doesn't bring the Medusa ax on the road anymore?
Is that a custom guitar or something?
+雄義 Ok, so they're called Minarik? Thanks for letting me know
Franz stahl the dude from foo fighters?
YOu guys think a rig rundown for JIm Root and Josh Rand from Stone Sour???? plzzzzzz!
The string spacing is wild looking on the red lp
Franz being the 2nd guitar player ever in the Foo Fighters!
you can hear claudio singing in the background around 4:15
2:49 "Hahaha!" -Travis Great words of wisdom.
i would like to request the strokes!
the lapel mics make such a difference!
