He carved out that extensive territory he called the "Problem Crescent," south and to the east and west of the Golden Triangle of Louisville-Lexington-Northern Kentucky (i.e., all the state that is not the Golden Triangle). In this case, could we speak of some political and even cultural solidarity in this so-called Problem Crescent?
