That’s what the trailer looks like. The real Tai Lung came back only to have his power taken and have his body taken over. That’s about it. Not really much of a story for a big villain. Because that’s what he is. This is textbook generic stuff. Why not bring in a new generic powerful villain Oogway fought a long time ago and his power was taken and then that would’ve been fine!
Even Lord Shen was treated as a big villain. Despite him being a generic villain, he has a lot of additional layers to his character such as his ruthlessness. He’s Po’s personal villain and first personal challenge he’s faced as the Dragon Warrior. And if they did this to his character too, it’d be heartbreaking
If you've seen all 3 movies, oogway rejecting him comes from personal experience. Him and Kai were warlords, he saw a look of ambition on Tai Lung and was like "oh yeah, I recognize that look"

Tai Lung was ill with darkness in his heart because Shifu puts being the dragon warrior into his head and Tai Lung thought is like okay I have to be the dragon warrior to make my father proud. All he did is an outburst and he was lock in prison for 20 years because of it don't tell me that isn't a good reason to be angry. I bet Shifu didn't visit him and talk to him his lesson should be "is okay to be angry but don't let it control you." that should be his redemption arc dealing with his angry and forge his own path being okay with not being the dragon warrior. I don't want him to be humble right away I want to be angry that his skill was stolen and angry to see po then have a fight to burn that angry.

I think he should be redeemed because he was lock up for twenty years for having an outburst and nobody visit him then once he got out this is when his father told him he was proud of him but the damage Shifu cause was too little too late it almost got through Tai Lung but Tai Lung doesn't care anymore because he put all his work into being the dragon warrior if put all that work I would angry like him.

And lastly the humour in the trailer like petals swallow/fart scene are so awful compared to Kung fu panda level jokes, They are now relying on fart jokes? After a legendary trilogy this is disappointing and concerning

And Shifu didn't even do anything when his entire life goal (that Shifu himself forced upon Tai Lung) was stripped away from him. His anger, his sadness, all of his expressions and words just speaks to me on another level. He's the Kungfu Panda villain that I will always hold dear to my heart

Who wants to bet that Tai Lung would be summoned with Pos staff. Beat all the goons like a badass, get his power stolen, get beaten by himself and then she gonna throw him back to the spirit world and that will be all his scream time. I have been such an advocate for a Tai Lung redemption arc forever, so this would be an absolute win. I also have a theory about Tai Lung's backstory not being as black and white as Tigress makes it seem, but I don't think the narrative it comes with is actually what was intended. It's mostly just a headcanon.

This could be the end of Shifus arc at the same time as Tai Lungs. Tai Lung is redeemed and Shifu reverts to the happier version of himself we only ever really saw in flashbacks from the first movie. I can imagine that emotional scene between Shifu and Tai Lung where they have a heart to heart and it ends with a hug. Tai Lung recognizing that Shifu was the father he never had and, Shifu finally able to forgive himself for Tai Lungs fall.
Po and Tai Lung could work together, Po being a the new spiritual leader of the valley of peace and Tai Lung as the dragon Warrior or just another master and it might last for centuries. If Po is able to live as long as Oogway has after spending time on Spirit Realm and Tai Lung has become the spirit warrior, so they've basically become immortal but that's mt guess.
We need all previous villains to team up with Po. From Tai Lung, Lord Shen and Kai. Kind of like in MK1 where Shang Tsung teams up with Lui Kang to defeat Titan Shang Tsung.

I think the trailers are trying to make us believe the events are being shown in chronological order, when they actually aren’t, since the tai lung thing probably will happen at the end, as once she can get tai lung she can get all the villains, and if this was at the beginning of the film there’s just no way po could win. Tai Lung will either be a part (or even teach with Po) the new team (which'll bound to have that new fox/wolf character). From this, a trial will then be made for the dragon warrior within the team, where Po will take the place of oogway and Tai Lung with Shifu. Then a similar incidence occurs where a random character interrupts the ceremony and being selected by Po. Here the cycle repeats. Ps. If Tai Lung only stays temporarily and has to leave again, then I guess Tigress (or 1 of the other members) will take the place of Shifu.
I’d love to see him become the Dragon Warrior but he doesn’t need it anymore. He’s already achieved the greatness Shifu envisioned by being his greatest student. Shifu passing the torch to his son & Tai Lung becoming the next Master of Kung Fu is a great path for him.

He deserves a “redemption” arc the most. He got trained his entire life to become the dragon warrior just for it to be yanked away at the last second for no apparent reason. Anyone would’ve lost their cool in his shoes, I don’t really see him as a villain, just a victim who couldn’t handle it.
One thing I’d like to point out that many are missing, myself included originally, is that the chameleon has Po’s staff. She needs it to open the door to the Spirit Realm. This means that it is not at the beginning, since she has already once defeated Po.
Ever since we found out there’s a spirit realm in the Third movie, I was hoping for his return and having a redemption arc, basically becoming Po’s Vegeta in the franchise

Tbf tho Tai Lung finally had the dragon scroll that’s he been thinking about it for a long time and it turned out nothing to him at all so now he has no goals so atp he can’t continue being evil for no reason he might as apologise to Po, Master Shifu and the furious 5 just becomes friends with them that way we might get see more of Tai Lung’s story mainly interested to see why was he’s abandoned by his parent to the jade palace as a cub before becoming adoptive son to master Shifu

I’d love to see him become the Dragon Warrior but he doesn’t need it anymore. He’s already achieved the greatness Shifu envisioned by being his greatest student. Shifu passing the torch to his son & Tai Lung becoming the next Master of Kung Fu is a great path for him.
Sadly that didnt happen. Instead he returned to the realm and dosent serve any significenece just like kai and shen who dosent say anything and look weird

My boy Tai Lung deserves it after all the shit he went through. abandoned as a cub, had his dreams and ambitions denied, betrayed by his adoptive father, imprisoned for 20 years, humiliated by THE big fat panda, sent to the spirit realm, had his Chi stolen turning into a pendant and now having his form, chi and/or kung fu taken away right after being brought back
He’s literally one of my favorite characters, I hope this could possibly happen
That would make the whole movie

I also made this prediction the day the trailer dropped. Po passes the title on to him.

He deserves a “redemption” arc the most.
He got trained his entire life to become the dragon warrior just for it to be yanked away at the last second for no apparent reason. Anyone would’ve lost their cool in his shoes, I don’t really see him as a villain, just a victim who couldn’t handle it.
It makes sense since his story matches the role and po probably gonna ask for tai lungs help
One thing I’d like to point out that many are missing, myself included originally, is that the chameleon has Po’s staff. She needs it to open the door to the Spirit Realm. This means that it is not at the beginning, since she has already once defeated Po.
It would be cool too see him with Shefu asking for forgiveness or something like that
Tai lung at the end goes back to his realm
Ever since we found out there’s a spirit realm in the Third movie, I was hoping for his return and having a redemption arc, basically becoming Po’s Vegeta in the franchise
And he would still fulfill the destiny Shifu believed he has! That would be an awesome ending 😁

That’s would be cool Tai could become a teacher to Po. Makes sense since he’s the only one who’s actually mastered all of of ways scrolls and teachings making him the dragon warrior in all but name

Could you imagine how wild it’d be if we got to see a Tai Lung redemption arc? The amount of potential this could have is imo on par with Zuko’s redemption
Agreed, I believe this is exactly what will happen. He's most likely going to sacrifice himself, but I could also see him becoming the Dragon Warrior as out of everyone, he's probably in my top 5 for becoming Dragon Warrior
He should become the dragon warrior he trained his whole life for it he deserves it
Tbf tho Tai Lung finally had the dragon scroll that’s he been thinking about it for a long time and it turned out nothing to him at all so now he has no goals so atp he can’t continue being evil for no reason he might as apologise to Po, Master Shifu and the furious 5 just becomes friends with them that way we might get see more of Tai Lung’s story mainly interested to see why was he’s abandoned by his parent to the jade palace as a cub before becoming adoptive son to master Shifu
Oogway did say that he had darkness within him. But he didn't say if it was permanent
