Hi, Great video!!! I hope to help you a bit by saying that Shanti in Dutch is: Eline Klein Maybe you couldn't find her because on Wikipedia her role is called 'het meisje' which means 'the girl' Hopefully you didn't stop making these videos I really enjoy them! 💖
Really Great Ranking, and Thank you for 24th place! (Korean) I've never been a fan of Claire (French 1997), but I love her Vanessa! Lucie (French 1968) is Love-Hate situation for me... I have no opinion, so no comment more. I totally agree with your number one! Perfect ears, and I love you very much!
Finally here I was waiting this ranking :D Thank you for doing that since this movie is so important for me, one of my favorite Disney movies ever ;) My Shlomit on 1st place, my beloved Ariel :)))) She totally deserves it, she's a legend and one of my favorite (if she's not MY favorite) Disney voices ever ;) And I agree with lots of places like Norwegian, Finnish 68, Arabic (both), Czech (my favorite role of Jana with her Odette), Hindi, English, Polish, Dutch and Icelandic (I prefer her here). Maybe I would have put Brazilian and Turkish higher And you're right about the Arabic TV voice, she sounds more like the TV voice of Alice than Noha Qaiss^^ I agree Claire is not that good here :/, Disney France should better have casted a young and fresh voice to remplace Lucie. I don't understand since Disney France often casts some young and cute voices for the female characters so why did they not cast a young and cute voice for Shanti since she's a real child^^ And thank you for Lucie's place, I love her so much to death, a legend from Disney France :D Great video as always, can't wait to see the next ;)
Haha glad you liked it :) Haha et bien je te dois des excuses parce qu'en fait, un ami arabe m'a dit que c'était Noha Qais finalement ^^ J'attends encore confirmation, mais ce serait elle, donc bien deviné ^^ Mais je suis tjs surpris, j'entend pas du tout Noha, donc j'attend vraiment confirmation des credits. Lucie is awesome here, I love her !
Thank you for the 12th place. I'm quite sure Chairat, the singing voice of Snow White, sings as Shanti as well, and that's why Thai Shanti sounds like Snow White. Your video is really good, by the way. :)
Thank you for 12th ^^ I'm not sure about my favorite Shanti voice 'cause I'm not fan of Shanti (She's quite unpopular character // haha). So, it would be hard for you to ranking them.
Good ranking! I disagree with Claire's placement; I guess I can't hear the snobbish thing since I don't understand the language, but she's actually a fave Shanti for me. And closely follows your #1, I find Shlomit's style very 'Indian'.......she sounds beautiful here.
I think we can overall agree, this song is my guilty pleasure,my favourite might be Arabic TV she's really a surprise amongst those crappy dubbings Glad u included Croatian..maybe there's a chance we get more Croatian dubs now
I agree with the German one : I think it’s the echo that makes the whole sounds creepy. I really love your number 1, she sounds like a siren who makes fall in love with her her
For an odd reason I'm always attracted to Mediana's performances in all her roles, but this one is not her best role yeah. Arabic TV Shanti is definitely Noha Qais, easily recognizable. Thanks a lot for 5th place! She's very enchanting :3 I mostly disagree with the Norwegian version; but your number 1 is beautiful, my favorite role of her. Great ranking! :)
Really, Noha ? I don't recognize her at all. She doesn't have this fake childish singing, this singer sounds quite pure and natural, she reminds me of Nesrine Masoud !
She does sound more natural here, but I can recognize her kind of Minnie Mouse voice anywhere :P Well this TV dub was made in Egypt, and Nesrine is Lebanese, so she couldn't be. I'm quite sure it is Noha! I think Felecia Goldfire has the full movie, maybe there are credits at the end of it?
This song is odd to rank for me, I like most of the voices but since Shanti is basically nothing outside of this song, and all the voices are way too old for the 10-year-old, I wind up considering preferences purely in vocal quality instead of thinking of it as 'playing a character'. Anyway, though I love Claire as Ariel, I am not super into her Shanti relative to Lucie. A guy I lived with in France, Jungle Book was his fav Disney and we watched the version with Lucie, it was pleasant. I like Mediana's voice here but it's one of the most jarring from Shanti's voice. lol Tulay 'everywhere'...to the point where even she doesn't remember what she's dubbed! CREEPY. I'm so glad someone else used that word about Susanne! SHE IS CREEPY! Wow Halla sounds just like Selma here. Ulla is a love from me, and Dutch. 'Those crappy TV dubs' lmao. Thai was always a big fav for me because she was so haunting and weird and mysterious. It just dawned on me that Darlene sounds like a hybrid of Mary Costa and Ilene Woods to me..which is great. Love your #1 of course.
I agree with most of the low versions, I would just put Brazilian and Romanian higher. Wait what?!! Noura Sa'id? It's not Iman Hosni as Shanti? :O Where did you get that name from?
Yup, name from credits, credtied for the little Indian girl and in the song "My Own Home'. Don't know where the name of Iman came from, certainly someone who made suppositions after listening to her Wendy (though I've been told by an arab friend that he doesn't find the two voices similar)
Ahhh, so it's from the credits? That's good then. It'll take me some time to get used to this name though x) Well they don't sound exactly the same, although the angelic sound to their voices is sorta similar. Anyway, glad we have the right name now ^^ By the way, I've went through the other comments and you also have my vote for Noha Qais being Arabic TV Shanti. I as well recognize her voice and even her pronunciation lol :P
Haha I understand. Well I can't tell, I've never heard Wendy unfortunately, I've been sent a video in Arabic once but it was blocked in France :/ Haha really ? Well I guess I'm the only not recognizing her then ^^ For me she sounded very different from her Alice, Jasmine and Snow White
The first place was obvious, Shlomit is magnificent as Ariel and as Shanti!! It was a great ranking, I enjoyed it although I am not familiar with the most Shanti's voices! I didn't know that Jana Marasova had a role in The Jungle Book, surely she is great here. Too bad that I can't say the shame for Kristi, honestly I don't know what happend in this dub.
Would have been here sooner if my notifications weren't glitching! Shanti is my least favourite female disney character unfortunately but I love this song. And I agree with your ranking exactly.
I actually have a lot of those versions I could send to you. Just tell me which ones you're missing. In terms of only clips for the Golden Harp, here are the ones I have: -Brazilian 1947 (My Favorite Dream) -German 1966 (My, What a Happy Day) -Hebrew (both songs) And the only ones I'm missing entirely are Brazilian 1993 and Swedish 1950.
OK, I'll PM you the links. Please let me know when you have received them. Just a few things to note about the Japanese dubs: there are three versions. 1. The VHS version you listed as "1954(?)" is actually from 1984, not 1954. I know this because, particularly Seki Tokio as Donald and Gotō Masumi as Mickey, only voiced their characters around 1984-1988. 2. The second version from 1991 was made to the featurette versions of the two stories (and yes, I'm referring to the Ludwig Von Drake version of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" and the Jiminy Cricket-narrated version of "Bongo"). 3. The third Japanese version is the TV dub of the film made for the Disney Channel and WOWOW, but I don't know exactly when it was made, though it's most likely from the mid-to-late 1990s. P.S. The copy I have for the 1984 dub is incomplete, as I only have the second half with "Mickey and the Beanstalk" (I am also missing the 1991 dub of "Bongo" as well). But otherwise, I hope this helps. ;)
Hey I've received your message, thanks a lot :) Oh is there ? cool thanks ! I wrote 1954 because imdb listed a release in Japan for that date, so I didn't know. How do you know about those Japanese dubbings ?
By the way, I noticed you have both Danish and Swedish listed as 16, but only Swedish is heard... Also, you forgot these versions, which I have here: Brazilian Portuguese 2014: drive.google.com/file/d/0B_PbyyMNSSsOdUJSX2M0ZFN2a0U/view Dutch LP 1969: drive.google.com/file/d/0B5i4CEhPe642Tl9VZjdXMmVCZDA/view
Hey no actually it's a mini multi, Danish for the first line, then Swedish ;) And yeah, I couldn't find Brazilian 2014 :/ Thanks for sharing. and for Dutch LP, I use only official movie versions for my rankings
Well, I'm just repeating what charguigou said in another comment, you should check the rest of the comment section =) Also I just went to listen the complete Swedish version and the first line here doesn't sound like it as far as I can tell =o

Fine ranking! I didn't like Shlomit much as Ariel, but this role fits her beautifully. The Finnish singer was also very likeable.
Finally here I was waiting this ranking :D Thank you for doing that since this movie is so important for me, one of my favorite Disney movies ever ;)

Do you think you could do a personal ranking of the Golden Harp from "Fun and Fancy Free"?
I would need to hear all versions first, which are hard to find
I actually have a lot of those versions I could send to you. Just tell me which ones you're missing. In terms of only clips for the Golden Harp, here are the ones I have:
-Brazilian 1947 (My Favorite Dream)
-German 1966 (My, What a Happy Day)
-Hebrew (both songs)
And the only ones I'm missing entirely are Brazilian 1993 and Swedish 1950.
I actually only have Dutch new dub, both French dubs, Turkish and English. So everything else will be welcome !

I love Arabic and Hebrew
to be honest, all of them are too old for a little girl, but thanks for the first place
there is no such ting as danish/swedish????????????? its not the same?????
It's the same singer, so the first line is Danish, the second line is Swedish ^^
no its only in swedish as far as i can hear
Well, I'm just repeating what charguigou said in another comment, you should check the rest of the comment section =)
Also I just went to listen the complete Swedish version and the first line here doesn't sound like it as far as I can tell =o
