I dont think a lot of people realize the work cast members put into their jobs or just how much they give up to hold their positions with Disney. They truly work very hard and hearing you give them some gratitude warms my heart. Thanks for recognition and using your voice to remind others just how hard they work. Without them, Disneyland, the well-oiled machine as we know it, wouldn't exist. It truly means a lot and I know this will mean so much to other cast members that see this video. Justin, thank you for your recognition of Cast Members! I was a former Walt Disney World Cast Member (Disney College Program) and Christmas was especially crazy! It isn't always easy working 50+ hours that week with parks over capacity and guests taking their frustrations out on you. But knowing that I got to wake up everyday with the opportunity to make happy memories for people from all over the world was a truly amazing experience! Also, I totally get the annual pass holders complaining. CMs get free admission into the parks, and I went as much as possible, especially during off season. I became super spoiled and would not wait in a line more than 30 mins long. I don't think I could ever go to the parks during Christmas week. I would happily give up my ticket for other guests during that week.
love your video and whole speech about how cast members make disneyland special. its great when people like you appreciate the employees and their hard work. I used to work at DCA and I remember how crazy it was during the holidays but we still had fun. ^_____^
I'm so glad I got to enjoy this park in the 70's and 80's before it became total madness. I went a couple years ago and it was just fucking miserable. The clientele is crap and the crowds are just so bad it's like a nightmare now.

I had a really crap day, decided to see what you posted today to cheer myself up, and imagine my surprise when you opened the package I sent you full of Pee Wee Herman toys! Then when you got to the end you thanked "Jim" because I have a crap signature. I literally LOL'd. My name is Teri, so glad you liked the SHAG bag. It deserved a good home.
I like your point about the cast members! I went to Epcot a couple days ago, and got in line for the frozen ride. There was a certain point where the stopped the regular line and fastpass people would go. The lady working there who was explaining what was going on, had seen me at the Anna and Elsa meet n greet thing. When she let our line go after the fastpass people, she went up to help work the controls. The ride suddenly broke down, and we had to wait 45 minutes. When we finally got to the part with the automatic gates and the numbers right before you get onto the boats, she smiled and gave me a thumbs up, and it really made my day.
I love that cast members always say "You're Welcome" if you say "Thank You" instead of just saying "sure" or "sure thing" or "yeah" or "uh huh" (like yes, you should be thankful!)

We did New Years Eve last year in Disneyland, it was awesome! The lines weren't too bad for the rides, we got a lot of fast passes, most people were waiting in front of the castle starting at noon for the midnight countdown, we hit the rides all day (went on Haunted Mansion Holiday 5 times) and at midnight went over in front of the Haunted Mansion for the midnight countdown. It was the Best New Years Eve I've had!
Congrats to Ally for the new job, and to you two for moving into your new place~! I also love the Disneyland cast members, they've always made me feel welcome and despite my disabilities and whatnot they never look at me oddly. The Disneyland Resort's always felt like a second home to me. Speaking of bad cast member stories though, I feel the need to tell these. Back in November, my Mom and me had finally gotten enough money to make a holiday trip to Disneyland (we live here in Cali and frequent Downtown Disney). I have to use a handicap scooter because of my physical disabilities, I can't be up for long. They changed the handi-cap lines for each of the rides since I was last there, and I went to Star Tours to see what the deal was for that. I went up to this one cast member, he looked directly at me when I was asking him for help, then went around me to help other guests who were behind me. Dude utterly disrespected me. To make it worse when I /did/ get his attention as he was trying to avoid me, he told me to go to some spot halfway across Tomorrowland, and when I got there, another far friendlier cast member apologized profusely to me that I didn't need to go there, because I had to go back to the Jolly Holiday to meet up with my Mom. Then even more recently, over at the new bag check for Downtown Disney, twice the bag check cast members gave me a hard time. First time I shrugged it off. Second time the guy made me take out everything in my satchel, questioned me rudely about my cane, and proceeded to make fun of the charms I carry in my bag for good luck. I also suggested they really should fine tune things with the new bag check because they made me late for my movie I was going to see. The guy said 'Well you need to be here earlier next time'. I'm clearly walking with a cane, so I took that as an insult. Needless to say I don't like complaining unless it's absolutely necessary. Both accounts we talked to the Supervisor at Star Tours about the guy who disrespected me and sent me on a wild goose chase, as well as Town Hall. And then the main person in charge of the bag checkers. I suffer from depression and anxiety, I know bad things happen and sometimes people are crabby but those two outright disrespected and harassed me. I just hope it's not a continuing trend. The gentleman in charge of the bag checkers apologized to me and mentioned that lately the new checkers are people who haven't been taught how to go about talking to guests. I hope the new guys don't give anyone else trouble. I remain positive and hopeful that these sorts of encounters won't continue for myself and others.
Great message about patience and consideration. I think those in the Sometimes Mob who are getting angry with Justin about the pins need to take his message to heart.
You guys should consider getting a french press. We have a tiny kitchen, too, maybe even smaller than yours and we couldn't possibly fit a coffee maker on our counter anywhere even if we wanted to so we got a french press. It makes great coffee and is about the size of a large tumbler, you can keep it in a cabinet off the counter, I love it!

Lol I would just love to be there period!

My aunt's friend is a cast member. She says being a cast member means that you know everything about Disneyland. That means she knows the secrets which ruins the magic you feel when you go to Disney. IMO, I encourage you to be a cast member to make everybody happy. Though it would've been funner if you wouldn't know the secrets about Disneyland, but it's better to make everyone happy! Follow you dreams!
Great video Justin! I love your positivity and what a great haul you got for Christmas! I gotta disagree with you though...standing in line for an hour or more for anything is not something most would consider "having a great time". Is that what the big bucks we pay at the gate are meant for?
I just went on the 29, it was way too crowded... I got a fast pass for Indiana jones and even that it took 1 hour. Space mountain had a wait of 170!minutes... pretty much this told me not to go after Christmas
there is always a bag check, however they moved the bag check from the west side (downtown disney) over to ESPN zone, and if you park in mickey and friends you now go though security before you ride the tram. Once the eastern gateway replaces pumba, then you will go though security in the new parking garage on that side.
It's quite ridiculous how small the California Disneyland is. Disneyland Paris, and even Disneyland Hong Kong and Tokyo are much, much bigger. Disneyworld is much bigger than all of those.
