We've been using this damsel pattern with great success for years now, so if they affect the action I would say it's for the good! :) They are plastic so very little weight added ...
Nice pattern. Do y'all ever tie any ice fishing flys? Not many fly guys do, and being relatively new here, I wasn't sure if you had or did or what. Anyway, I'm a fan of the channel and look forward to your videos. Peace.
Just want to say thanks for doing these videos. This is a good looking pattern and looks pretty easy to tie.
You're welcome :)
I need to get some of that dubbing
Nice one Brandon and will for sure give it a go and let you know how it fishes here in Scotland, all the best and tight lines and stay safe Peter.
Really nice tie! I have great success with a similar one for bass. Smaller sizes for crappie, bream. I also use black or silver bead chain eyes.
Thank you!
How do the bead chain eyes affect the action of this fly.I was told never to add weight to a damsel as it messes with the action

Any of the staple type foods can be fished through the ice. Damsels, scuds, bloodworms, leeches. Lots of options.
