  • Join James Lumley from Sunseeker Southampton on a behind the scenes experience of close quarters manoeuvring and running at sea, a brand new 2021 spec Sunseeker Predator 55 Evo Sports Cruiser. Sunseeker Southampton (a part of the Sunseeker London Group) - 41 offices across 20 countries, we are the largest Sunseeker distributor in the world, covering the majority of the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Africa.
    I am often asked what yachts are like to handle in close quarters and at sea, so took this opportunity to demonstrate how the awesome new Predator 55 Evo performs. We have a knowledgable team of training captains, who can take you from novice to expert aboard your own boat, so don't be put off by the daunting stories of how hard they are to drive!
    A yacht such as this is a real proposition for those still wanting to maintain an owner-operator style of boating, with just 2 people onboard.

    James, really impressed with Sunseeker at the SIBS, every customer was treated extremely well and the openness to show people the boat was superb. It was really great to get on board this boat, it may have been my favourite of the whole show. Keep up the good work, Matthew

    Love these videos James, seeing how to handle one of these beasts is very interesting. One of my earliest experiences was my Dad badly trying to berth on the Hamble when the tide was running fast! It was a disaster. Keep the camera with you it works so much better. Cheers.

    Hi James, firstly cracking video, totally loved the actually working of trim tabs, seen tons of people speaking about them but actually very little in the way of how they actually work while at see. Second love the skinny jeans, both you and myself rock these, and third what amazing sparkle on your wife's shoes. Just saying as it shows I watch all you videos from start to finish.

    Absolutely loved this video. Another excellent showing of not just the boat but the systems onboard and how easy it is to handle. Always love these videos and look forward to seeing more of them.
    Do you vlog your trips on your own boat? Or is that more personal time you prefer not to share.
    Keep up the great work james and look forward to your next upload.

      Thanks for the positive feedback, yes we shoot a lot of stuff on our own trips, just never get a chance to sit and edit it all together. My boat is still not quite finished, but we will be doing all sorts on her once the refit is done.

      @@TheVirtualYachtBroker really looking forward to seeing your videos and your boat should you ever get a chance to editing them. I know how time consuming they can be especially when you don’t have time to spend doing the edits and a lot of my videos usually go up months after the actual trip because of it.
      Have a good day and keep up the great work.

    Love these videos. Don't see you use the joystick. Less effective than just using the throttles and thrusters individually?

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just a different way to do it. For some the joystick is the difference between getting off the dock or leaving the lines on, I'm lucky to do this several times a week, so just tend to stick with what I know.

    Hi James, whats the recommended boat size versus being a solo driver? That size of boat seems to be solo'able .

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Grant, yes she would certainly be solo capable if the weather was reasonable and you had a suitable departure/arrival berth.

    How come that sandbank wasn't shown on the chart plotter? Doesn't it show that information?

    • @TheVirtualYachtBroker
      @TheVirtualYachtBroker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plotter needs a nav card in for fine cartography detail (the world is divided up into areas), so these are specced during pdi (when it is known where the boat will be used).

  • @johnr2632
    @johnr2632 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    300 litres an hour. So that means about £350 for every 40 miles in fuel? Yikes. I guess that's nothing if you can afford the boat in the first place.
