Man someone's gotta tell him to stop apologizing. No one cares how long it takes you. Learning a trick is a battle between you and the board. We are all just here to support, motivate, and see him succeed. He's just gotta do this for himself. I'm sure the pressure of doing it for the channel isn't easy to overcome though.

  • @NinjaNerosis

Yo one way to help get over the height scare, is simply lay down n put your eye level at the coping... you'll realize the drastic difference in height because your eye level is 5 to 6 feet above your feet which is where literally all the action is taking place. So if you mentally subtract your current eye level and your body height, it helps ease some fear...but don't get me wrong, not fully fearless as bails happen

@Jeremy Vest I feel you brother. thanks for doing the video. I am 46 myself and just started skating again after 30 years. Thanks to all of you at braille I just learned heelflips, 360 shoves and I am working on kickflips after only 2 months. I could not do any of these tricks (maybe the 360 shoves, I cannot remember for sure) 30 years ago. Keep it up brother you are an inspiration to all of us creepy old dudes. I will say even though I do get injured 🤕easier, having that wisdom that comes with age helps me to learn a lot faster than when I was younger, so there is a net positive in my mind.

Nice stuff! As a mid-40 year old also getting back into it, I can totally relate to the mental battle. Nothing seems to get "on lock" anymore. Things I've done many times (ollies, rock to fakie on a mini-ramp) are still super awkward as my muscle memory seems to consist of remembering the pain of failures. Oh well. Videos like this tell me I should keep going. Perhaps even document my progress for added incentive...

Makes me wonder how terrifying the Braille Drop was back when Carlos used to do it every other video.
