What a wonderful tradition. To see amateur musicians spending their free time to entertain their friends and neighbors. They may not be on par with the professional bandsmen of a Guards Regiment, but they truly mean well. Thanks for posting this video.
Hello again JWF7000, as you and I both know, playing a brass instrument to a good standard or to the best of our potential involves a lot of commitment over a long period of time. Bands such as this particular band, being a non-contesting community band, won't necessarily have the full range of instruments and parts covered at any time, so yes it is not the full size that one might expect of a contesting band. They also play an important role in supporting the community and supporting charities, and can provide an environment in which new players, of all ages, can learn to play a brass instrument and become a good and loyal bandsman. In the UK, getting new players involved in brass bands is increasingly difficult, and some bands provide training on a formal or informal basis - getting, particularly youngsters, interested in having a creative pastime such as playing a musical instrument and a sense of teamwork and community rather than just being glued to their mobile phone all day.
@@MikeM14-40 Hello Mike , a little late reaction from me but I understand your story completely! Here we have the same ,, problem,, but than in little version because here live less people than in the UK But one thing is for sure I think , know maybe ! In your country you have the best music of schools, we do not have that down here in that sort of thing! And second place the British Brass players they have an otherwise kind of playing on their instruments, always when I am listening and looking to your brass players it looks so easy , I love that! My old teacher, he past away for many years, his opinion was that British Brass players they have a special ,,something,, why the can play so beautiful on their instruments, I agree that with him! Nice having a conversation with you! Bye ! By the way, I have seen your TH-cam videos , they are very good 👍 Sorry for my not good written English!🫣🫣
@@JWF7000 Hello again JWF7000, I think there is no problem with your written English - I can understand clearly what you are saying. I live in the south of Britain, but have always thought that the brass band movement is generally stronger in the north of Britain than in the south. There are a lot more brass players, and a lot more bands. I have visited the north of England several times to see the brass bands there. The "Whit Friday" march contests are very interesting to watch if you like to see brass bands marching. I will finish now, because we are not going to "fix the world" here on TH-cam! On another subject, I hope you have seen videos of the Coldstream Guards band in Windsor on Saturday 22 June - one of our favourite players was back in the front row, and it sounded very impressive!

Hello Brian, and thanks very much for a lovely comment! So absolutely true.
Takes me back to my childhood - the cheery sound of a local brass band on a summer day! 🎺🎺🎺
Hello SecretSpiski - we can always rely on you for something nice to say!
Hello Mike, this is a small Brass Band, and not one of the best of UK I think ! 🫢🫢
