  • This is the biggest blackhead bushmaster I work with. This is also the first time I have filmed a video of this viper. He is from the genus of vipers who hold the world record of being the biggest in the world up to 12 feet long. If you enjoyed please like and subscribe for more venomous reptile vides.

    Excellent video. I like how you're so calm and respectful of your snakes, trying to cause them the least amount of stress as possible. I didn't know the bushmaster was so "delicate", and that they mostly stayed underground in agouti burrows (who I feel sure are also a prey item for the bushmaster.) Thank you for all the interesting information you always impart on your videos. For those of us who like to learn, it's a lot of fun!

    Awesome dude. I got to see these at Dean Ripa’s before it closed. I’m obsessed with them. They’re easily the most intimidating and cryptic snake species in my opinion. I’d rather take a bullet than take a bite from a Bushmaster. It’s mind boggling that Dean took 7 bites from Bushmasters. It’s almost like he and those snakes were hardwired for each other. His work is unprecedented. Good video bro 👍🏻👍🏻

      He also had a serious Bothrops collection. I’d guess he probably had 6-10 different species. The one was the nastiest looking fucker I’d ever seen. Just a huge Fer De Lance with the biggest head ive ever seen on one. His vivariums must have cost a minimum of 10K a piece. The Bushmaster setup had to have been 25k. He re-created the tropics. And the Black Mambas were insane. Being that close to them, they look like fine suede. Just beautiful creatures

    I got to say I like the way this guy handles the snake unlike most other TH-camrs I see messing with snakes they do very careless things and I always end up saying videos on their page talking about how many times and how many different snakes they've been bit by and I see them doing careless things the only thing and I am not a professional nor do I mess with snakes but I have learned a lot about snakes being in the military and training and ol different corners of the world and having to learn about the wild life because of doing field training and things like night land nav operations and night reconnaissance Patrols in areas like Australia and the Philippines Thailand and being deployed in countries with very venomous snakes. So again I'm not a professional so please take my thoughts and ideas with a grain of salt the only thing I would do differently is set that box 30 soaking the snake in on a rug so when he lifted the lid off and slid it on the floor that way it would not make such a loud popping and slapping sound that way it doesn't scare or frighten the snake with the loud noises. Other than that I love how he keeps his distance with his snake tongs, slides the top on and off with it and even putting pressure down on the lid so he knows with out a doubt that the snake can not strike and knock the lid off and strike again and hit him.

    Though I will never understand why anyone would voluntarily keep snakes for any reason ... it’s refreshing to finally see someone that handles these death dealers with the respect they deserve. So tired of watching the kids on here “play” with these deadly snakes as if they’re toys...

      Thank you I appreciate that and I agree. I have seen a few people who really know what they are doing but most the time it's someone trying to show off. That's not what it's all about.

    Let me ask you handling a black mamba would be more dangerous or the black headed Bushmaster ? Man that's one intimidating looking snake..

    Yeah I was watching somewhere or when they spray the bushmaster down they take them out and put them on a different enclosure or whatever and then after they spray and they put them back in the cage that way it's not so damp

    • @venomman20
      @venomman20  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I seen that video too. It's a really good idea. Part of the reason they do that is they where filming in Costa Rica and there's so much humidity there without doing so there bedding would stay wet. In my building it's much dryer therefore it's not as much if an issue although you see it still can be.

    Chlorhexidine continues to work up to 20, possibly 30 minutes after especially in the form of Hibiscrub. I use Hibiscrub, or the generic form here in the UK, Hydrex. I use it for cleaning snake enclosures and snakes.

    You should post a video on how to care for bushmasters in captivity... IF you’re lucky enough to work with them.

      I could but honestly if you have the resources and ability to keep bushmasters you probably wouldn't need much help from me lol. But it would be good to compare husbandry notes and such for sure

    How do you afford all the food? I know they don't eat much but rodents have become quite expensive.

      You have to know a good rodent hookup that don't charge and arm and a leg lol. But it's still quite expensive I'm sure I couldn't afford it if I had a social life LOL
