I fitted a set of Genie 1 5/8" mandrel bent primary headers , twin 200 cell 2.5 inch catalytic converters & I replaced the old twin 2.5 inch Redback exhaust system with the same one in October last year in my VY SS Commodore. It previously had a set of press bent custom exhaust headers fitted but the press bending made the restriction 1 3/8" (35 mm) instead of 1 5/8" (41mm) at the primaries,so the Genie headers flow really well on a stock 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine. When I bought the car it had a custom twin 2.25" cat back exhaust system fitted,in 2011 I had the Redback exhaust system welded onto the existing cats as it wasn't a bolt together system that someone fitted into the car. It made 276 fwkws with a tune & the original system, someone tuned it for me last Xmas so it's got an extra 24 or so fwkws (300 kilowatts) at the flywheel now & out of a stock LS1 engine. So,I'm not sure how a twin 2.5 Inch exhaust system will perform with a 253 cubic inch Holden V8 engine !
Thanks mate, we are a little concerned that 2.5" may be a little too big for the little old 253, but we just wanted to give it a go and see what how she goes with it, worst case we can make another smaller system.
Hi this is Max I’m a big fan of yours I really like watching all your episodes every Thursday. I was just wondering what’s that orange car doing in the other garage?

Awesome work guys. Definitely good choice going 2.5 inch and having a cross over pipe, they sound terrible with out it.

Hi Max, that is a project for a future build
Ohh that is really exciting and I can’t wait to see it!
I’ve just fitted the same extractors to my hq to and no2 spark plug lead hits extractor how did u end up overcoming this? Thanks
I gave the extractor a little tap with the ball of a hammer and we run lead socks on all the leads so it helps protect the lead
Man I am so jealous of that shed setup. What are the dimensions out of interest ?
Haha it’s not a bad shed, The front section is 11x7m and the rear section is 11x3m
@@HackshopGarage nice. So it is way bigger than it looks then. Love your work btw. Gets me keen to do my old Holden's keep it up :)
Yeah it’s a fair size, it’s just filled up with a lot of junk haha thanks mate, get into it haha
Get yourself a set of GTS mirrors.
