Some great tips for those of us who have balance issues. I so miss be able to do pivot turns without a second thought or getting up from a seated position with ease. Now things have to be carefully considered before making any movements with my legs and feet. I have more confidence in my home but not when I out and about so I use either a cane or walker. When I’m distracted the loss of balance occurs without warning and I’ve had some close calls. Open spaces like a street or in a mall make me uneasy and unsteady so I have to be with someone. I envy those still able to walk freely that are the same age group as I am. I shall practice these new ways of moving that you presented in your video.

In addition to the freezing strategies outlined, the hardest part can be slowing down if you’re a person who tends to rush and not pay attention. It’s hard to change life long habits but definitely worthwhile if it helps you freeze less.

Very helpful. Thank you. Your name is very familiar. I don't know if we've met. I was dx 12 yrs ago, have led a Y. O. support group in Chicago suburbs for 11 years and I see docs at CDH. Natalie

I might have met you at Glenbrook Hospital. I have given a talk at CDH many years ago. Thanks for your feedback!
