"Comforting in a lonely way", I loved it. I'm sure that other ARMYs already told you the story behind the song, but I hope that you read the lyrics because, yes, it adds a lot. Broken inside, smiley outside, loved by everybody who not necessarily understand him, is something that I'm sure that you know people who can relate, if not yourself.
I like your reaction videos because they are so layered. There is choreographer, dancer, theatre savvy commentary interspersed with tangential anecdotes or comments that sometimes initially seem a bit wacky but upon reflection paint a word picture that gives a fresh perspective to look at the performance.
Thanks for this reaction Margaret! I love getting your, a dancer's, perspective; plus your sense of humor and tangents are so very relatable. I haven't truly danced in years but this song actually made me get up to learn the choreo ... and I did. That one move is great for stretching my back ... the "give me AAA good ride" ... man, it feels good!! 💜
i never thought about turning around as such an act of, well, acting but that's an excellent point! same with how weight needs to be shared between two partners otherwise one can't do their job, i've never considered that, but it's really interesting how much goes into dance! (especially as someone who is fascinated with it but knows next to nothing about it haha) the tenderness and intimacy of this dance matched with the loneliness and longing of the lyrics and sound fit so well together. there was a wonderful analysis of this dance going around on tiktok that talked about jimin's gender expression in it and how he breaks away from toxic masculinity through the female and male dancers, and your point about how they're all dancing together in sync at the end was one of the points made in that video as well! thank you for reacting to it! it's always lovely to hear your insight! i recall how much you liked ON, so if you enjoy big grandiose dances with a lot of dancers and a lot of movement, bts' dionysus choreo is always insane to watch for the first time! at least, i always find it interesting to see other's reaction to it! [: keep up the great work, glad to see you back!
There is a show called Suchwita on BangtanTV here on TH-cam. (BTS Channel) Like Crazy is actually part of “the storm”. He told Suga it was a fun way to tell a sad story. Jimin is very candid with his band member. (Suchwita Episode 7) Great analysis. I love this number because his fluidity is so beautiful. It’s really hard to describe. You were talking about acting. I think that’s it. Jimin doesn’t just do the dance, he lives the dance.
This made me happy to see! I love what you said about comfort vs (and?) being isolated. I personally think Like Crazy is a song about loneliness, being desperate for connection? Losing yourself in external things because you don’t want to face yourself? So seeking comfort in the backup dancers (in this video) but ending up alone anyway? During the mirrored partner/duet scene, the lyrics go “me, reflected in the mirror” - which is also really interesting. I don’t have a concrete reaction request, but wanted to let you know that j-hope is releasing a street dance documentary called “hope on the street” in 2024, where he traveled around the world exploring the global street dance scene, which you might find interesting to watch when it comes out next year 😅 I feel like BTS are great “dance ambassadors” for the uninitiated like myself haha, because they piqued my interest in dance so much since becoming a fan, I didn’t have many dance opinions or knowledge before finding them, so that’s really nice :)
Hi Margaret, have you listened to the English version of this song by Jimin? I think this dance fits best with this version 😊 and when you spoke about partnering, it remind me of the live stage jimin recently did at Suga's concert, a dancer pointed out that Suga's stage is in pieces and the platform had gaps, so the choreo changed slightly so that Jimin holds the female dancer's hand and presses it gently to guide her steps backwards. I thought that was a nice and also sweet touch. Thanks for your lovely reaction as usual. I enjoy your sense of humour as well and any reaction to Jimin I'll surely be here to watch (and your tutorials too) ☺️🥰
BTW SUGA has been doing more dancing -- he has full choreography for "Haegeum", the title song from his solo album D-Day. The choreo is not in the MV; it's just (just!) for his live performances such as the one he did last spring on Jimmy Fallon's show. And there's a dance practice video waiting for you lol.
I always like watching a dancer's perspective when it comes to Jimin.

It amazing how much of that was conveyed with just the movement. Truly beautiful
