For the ladies, I would say, even if it shouldn't be that time of the month... bring what you need just in case. The fun, food, whatever else can impact the cycle. Also, bring something warm incase it's colder than expected.
I always pack stuff for my wife in daily day thimgs and if it can happen it will. Men take care of your wives because they are like us and assume but as we all know assuming will lead to the worst outcome lol
And always bring far more than you think would be needed cause you ain’t gonna be able to resupply till port and those are gonna be some real expensive tampons
Each of our last 3 trips with multiple rooms, the dining reservations were on "My Time", scheduling all members at one time weeks in advance. However, all three trips had us set up at different tables and even two rooms at different times. Always plan in advance on the app whatever you can, then check all the details once you are on board. Dining, excursions, wifi, drink packages, and any activity reservations. I agree with Matt's suggestions 1. We pack a small drug cabinet of medicines, band aids etc. 2. We fly in early enough to enjoy the embarkation city a night or two. 8 days in Italy. The hotel isn't going anywhere if our flight or drive is delayed. 3. We book our room to be between rooms on all sides. During two cold weather cruises being below the pool deck to get a Junior Suite worked out. No one up there at night. 4. Moving target on the adaptors is being followed. Odd that our Junior Suite had a coffee maker set in a place with no outlet. Needed to move to the desk and use up 1 of two standard outlets. 5. I agree more water, less liquor or food regularly. I get water all day on a cruise to avoid the others a bit, but keep hydrated in an unusual condition.
I don’t pack all my clothing in 1 bag. I spread it out between my checked and carry on so if my bag goes missing I don’t have to live in the same outfit all week.
Travel insurance/Vacation protection. I want to be that person that never has to use it, but will always be glad to have it just in case something happens.
Hi matt booked my first royal caribbean cruise for my wife, daughter and i this week on icon April 2027 back to back sky junior suite. Flew to Disney World and had weather delays. Ok Disney doesn’t leave without us but we didn’t check in until 3 AM. So kids were tired the whole trip. It was a disaster.
My wife is fairly sensitive to motion sickness. She had an issue on board one time and they took her to the spa and did an acupuncture session on her and she felt better immediately. Maybe something to keep in the back of your mind if you ever get caught without the meds.
I have to be honest, I think #1 & # 5 are related. I believe in being prepared for anything but I also think people, especially first timers, get on the boat & go all out with drink & food. They then think they are seasick. The one & only time I got sick when we were out at sea was when I was in the Navy but I made the mistake of eating a burger at lunch when we were in extremely rough waters. A lot of the cases of “seasickness” is because of what someone has consumed while on rough seas & not because of the motion of the boat.
@ yes I would because it’s an interchangeable word, they mean the same thing. Wr always called our ship a boat. Also, there’s a position in the Navy called Command Master Chief. That position also goes by the nickname COB or Chief of the BOAT.
@ I honestly don’t think so. I’ve been around too many people who only ever got seasick once they found out we were underway & 50 miles out. People psych themselves out so much about getting seasick and the next thing you know they are sick. I can almost guarantee if they didn’t think about it they wouldn’t get sick. The best way I can explain it is it’s like when you first learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. The more you thought about the training wheels not being there & falling the more you fell. However when you forget that the training wheels were taken off you were able to ride the Nike without falling. It’s mostly psychosomatic then if you add greasy food and/or alcohol to the mix then you’re going to get sick.

A rechargeable fan, neosporin, Tylenol are a must.
Expect your itinerary to change, don't expect speed anywhere, and read your paperwork

You're a wise man, Matt!
Well on top of the ones you said I always bring some snacks because I have dietary needs that aren’t always meet at the restaurants open late at night

Love your knowledge before the cruise:0)
Some advice was a dental repair kit; probably aimed at older cruisers?
you gotta be prepared, anything can happen on a cruise
3:50 Travel tip: remove any empty coat hangers from the the wardrobe and put them in the locker. Ask me how I know..
Have you reached Pinnacle yet king?
True
How does bro go on a cruise every month 😭
Live close to a port and gamble for cheaper ones!
It's also his job. A fair bit of the cost can be covered as a business expense.
5:48 "grumpy gut" & that visual made me nauseous 🤢

If you were in the Navy you wouldn't be calling a ship a boat 😅😅

Even having nothing in your stomach can increase your chances of having sea sickness.
