I served with the HM-14 "Vanguard". Very nice weathering techniques. The #1 engine cowling being a different color is spot on. That light grey is used by the Marine Corp and since they have most of the 53's they are sent to Navy squadrons that way until they can be painted. A very dirty aircraft because of the amount of grease and fluids (hydraulic/oil) that is located near the top that percolates into the cabin and outside skin. Loved that thing though. It is an impressive piece of machinery.
Hi Tim I only know now who you are thanks to Luka C I must admit I thought he was going to give out some bad news on you, thank you for your input it’s much appreciated cheers buddy 👍🏻😉🍻🇬🇧💙
@@clivesmodellingchannel7615 Aaaaaa, thank you Clive. That was a totally unexpected video that I did not know about until it was posted. I enjoy his vids and yours too. Hope you have a great weekend!! 🍺🍺👍🙂
Hello, Enjoyed your video. I am just getting into weathering. Question please: after applying the weathering pigments did you say you have to "seal" it with lacquer? Can I do this without an air brush? Thank you
Hello John yes you can do this without using an airbrush, if your going to use a paint brush I would firstly test out on a spare piece of plastic just to see if the weathering pigments stay put. If they don’t then you can use Halfords clear lacquer straight from the rattle can, I used to use Johnson’s klear floor polish to seal the powders and pigments in on my models before I used the more advanced airbrush techniques 😉👍🏻 hope this answers your question 💙😉👍🏻🍻🇬🇧
