- The Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) exam can be anxiety inducing and quite stressful. That's where I come in! As a facilitator of the NAAEI credential courses, I get the amazing opportunity to guide multifamily professionals all over the country as they work to increase their knowledge and take their property management career to the next level.
Here's an inside look at some of the hacks I share with my students to help ease their minds and retain the information. For many, the financial portion of the CAM course is daunting. This little ditty, along with a few of my pro tips, will help make memorizing the financial formulas a little easier.

@@ashng22 Read the questions carefully! Read the Q then the A then read the Q again before making your selection. Also, do not waste too much time on one question, if you can't figure it out or unsure of the answer flag it and come back to it once you have completed all the ones you do know. Best of luck!

Hi Marilu, congratulations on taking this next step in your career! As far as tips for the exam are concerned I would suggest you utilize all of the candidate resources NAA provides on their website and be sure you have read the textbook a minimumof 3xs. Go through the testing platform demo and be sure you are familiar with the features and comfortable with how it operates, this will help reduce anxiety. Read the questions and answers carefully! Read the Q then each of the A then read the Q again and make your selection. It's a timed test so answer the questions you know and flag the ones you don't so you don't spend too long on one question and run out of time. Once you have completed what you know, then go through what you flagged and work to get those completed. You can do this, best of luck!

I'm a leasing consultant now and looking into moving up to an Assistant Property Manager position and when looking at positions it mentioned having CAM. I'm like where do I start? I need to know which courses are legit. Any help info for me? I'm located in Georgia, if that matters
Hi Jas! It's exciting to hear that you have a passion for the industry and are focused on personal development. I would start with your local Apartment Association. They typically offer the credential courses in person at least once a year. If that's not an option, visit naahq.org and go to the education page. There you can find in-person courses and online options. If the credential course isn't being offered by the National Apartment Association or one of its affiliates, the course probably isn't legit.
