TH-cam analytics again! This video popped up because I've been doing research on the PT-19. I restored a partially completed 1987 RC model PT-19. Just waiting for better weather to fly it. I installed an old Ervine .40 engine. Interesting that you focused on the rollover pylon. The model had no cockpit details at all. I had to fabricate a rollover pylon and both wind screens. I also installed period correct pilot figures. Bought some faux leather at Walmart and hand sewed the cockpit combing. I live in Michigan, but if I'm ever in the area I'll stop in for sure. Thanks for the video!
Very insightful!!! I'm developing a digital replica of this magnificent bird and this video helped a lot. Thank you for the history class and for keeping them shiny and beautiful!
The Cox PT-19 Trainer was the first plane I attempted to fly and successfully crash. In effort to recapture my childhood I have collected 5, maybe even 6 Cox PT’s and I also have one fairly large radio control PT-19 number 44 which is a replica of Charlie Plumb’s Fairchild. I have such a fondness for vintage planes! I also seven radio control PT-17 Stearman biplanes. Of course I have a variety of helicopters and other planes but this PT-19 vIdeo caught my attention.

My Grandfather crashed a Fairchild PT-19 in 1948. It was a war surplus bird.
Father-in-law trained in a PT-19 as an air corps trainee. Great to learn more about the plane. He was taught to fly by RPMs not speed.

I can't you how many of those I wrecked and the sore fingers from prop strike at the start...
I had a Cox trainer as a kid.
