I believe rolling the R's is standard when performing German classical music, and is commonly heard in songs (lieder) and opera. In Schubert's numerous lieder, for example, you can hear the R's rolling even at the end of words, which almost never happens in modern standard German speech.

Kleiner Geschichtsunterricht in einem Lied, gefällt mir sehr gut und wird wunderbar gesungen von Günter Wewel mit einer herrlichen Melodie. Die Zeit selbst hätte ich nicht miterleben wollen (ein ebenso schön gesungenes kritisches Friedrich-Lied gibt's von Hannes Wader, Titel O König von Preußen).
Aber egal, das Lied klingt toll. Und mit dem wechselnden langen und kurzen Singen der verschiedenen Wörter ist Fridericus Rex auch recht schwer zu singen. Ich kann mir nie merken, wie man welches Wort betont.

I live in Oberfranken (Upper franconia) where the rolling r is More Common than the throat r.
