The first is that the only real standout from 1982 has to meet all 4 of the following criteria. 1) 1982 2) D-Mint aka Denver Mint Mark 3) Small Date 4) Copper Planchet with a weight of approximately 3.1 grams. If any one of these 4 factors is missing you have nothing but a face value coin. Furthermore there are only 2 confirmed pennies out of over 6 billion made by the Denver Mint in 1982 that meet all 4 of those criteria, both of which are in museums. Your odds of winning the big lottery twice are better than finding one. Last of all, not sure where you got your info on large date coppers being worth anything. These coins are extremely common, I find them on an almost daily basis going through penny rolls.

If a 1983 penny weighs 3.1 grams it is copper. Which is the rarer penny as far as 1983 pennies are concerned
