This is very interesting and I've asked myself those questions for a long time. But as time goes by, I find that I paint for my own pleasure, and I use oils because I like to take my time and I love the smell of oil. And if people like my art and want to buy it, that's fine with me. And yes I'd love to sell more to make room for more art. My subjects are mainly musicians in action because I'm really a musician at heart although I cannot play a musical instrument. So, I'd say I play brush!!!
