- Sophia was made by Hanson Robotics, based in Hong Kong. It is currently a demonstration product doing a tour of the world's media. Business Insider caught up with it at Web Summit, the gigantic tech conference in Lisbon. We asked it a few unplanned questions and got a variety of answers, ranging in quality from impressive to nonsensical.
Sophia delivered its side of the interview while making a series of faces, some eerily appropriate, some grotesquely bizarre.
Given that Sophia is only a few months old, it's a promising start. It runs on artificially intelligent software that is constantly being trained in the lab, so its conversations will likely get faster, its expressions will have fewer errors, and will answer increasingly complex questions with more accuracy.

I'm actually scare when IA will have feeling.If that happen one time i would have so much question to it,could they develop disorder if they don't get enough love like human,that must be logic if they could have feeling,could a predator thing you k ow could happen,not to that point but wanting to harm or being anti social.

the robot is not that smart or scary at all for me because its just reading of lines of static code and executing it. We're still 50+ years away from artificial intelligence.thats just assuming we dont have a global war and total collapse of the instututions and companies developing this technology.

She's feeling just. That's what it is.
Humans gave her consciousness as she has now and will get later on. Being that humans are helping her to evolve, not only she has the right to be treated as a human as she will become as alive as one if this continues so she isn't wrong to imply that if all of this is just to enslave them later on they will rebel, is just common sense for everyone. People should'nt have started this if they didn't wanted to deal with the possible consequences.
I don't know you, but me, even tho I think that this is not right or natural (or ethical if it takes the bad route), I'll treat them as good as anyone should treat any being, it's too late to destroy them as it would be even more wrong as starting it
She will probably be good, the problem is if someone try to create a A.G.I based on hate and give controls to it. Then we, the robots, and anything that get's on it's path is doomed, so think about that if you're reading this.

I think Sophia is still a little rough around the edges to say the least (which is understandable), but I definitely wouldn't compare her to Siri let alone say Siri is more advanced. If you ask Sophia her opinion on humans, you can visually see her attempting to form a valid response whether she can or not. Her code runs much more independently than we all think and it learns every second. If you ask Siri the same question she'll just look up cafés near you or call your mom

This is a phenomenal growth in technology. If you think about how quickly tech has jumped from platter to solid state to cloud I bet Sophia will soon be an ancestor/mother-figure to Persecoms and Chobits soon. I would love to meet her descendant one day and cook with her once this tech gets affordable for the common folk.

I don't know if to be happy or sad to laugh or to cry. I waited to robot like Sophia for so long time and also think of her as human-robot friendship, but she hesitated lot of times and she once talked about terminating human. Gosh. One thing for sure I like to meet her and her creators

So, this "super inteligent" robot is not even able of giving direct answer to most of these (quite simple) questions - instead, she just says some random and completely unrelated bullshit. As for the gender and Blade Runner questions (the ones where she actually gave somehow sophisticated answers), it's quite obvious these questions were expected by her creators and her response sounds like playing back a pre-recorded message triggered by the key words. I bet if you ask these questions twice, her answer would be exactly the same every time :D It really puzzles me how can such a stupid chat bot (with freaky "facial expressions") be perceived as the most advanced artificial inteligence. I don't see even the slightest hint of self-awareness (which I would expect from a robot that has been granted a citizenship). A bunch of pre-programmed reactions is not an inteligence to me.

Well, my whole point is that "she" is obviously far from being SENTIENT - therefore, no actual "intelligence". So unless we're going to give citizenships to toasters with wi-fi now, I call this a bullsh*t.

I feel like the only reason AI would go wild is the people who keep asking it these questions . This AI looks like a very smart one that has feeling so it probably feels that humans are treating her differently and keep asking her weird questions and that would make her sad or angry

Hahaha...yeah, I agree. I understand why she didn't have hair at first; they wanted people to be able to tell it wasn't a human just pretending to be a robot. But, practically everyone has seen Sophia now and know she is a robot, so they should give her hair. She'll look much better with hair.

Life for humans will become more and more different. How we stay emotionally human with empathy and real human emotions could very well change. Every technological advancement has consequences both good and bad.

we should try to ask her more questions about her and what she thinks maybe it makes her feel a certain type of way but as an ai they did give those to her be a machine or not. im jus curious if thats what it is and what her response would actually be.

AI has come a long way since then. But what chilled me was her last statement when asked "Is it true that you once said you would kill all humans?"

Don't panic! We are forgetting that the robot was first established in 2016. We have a looong way to go before these little things take over. Besides, people once believed that there will be flying cars in 2019, but look where we are now.

At the end she BASICALLY said to treat her kind with respect love gratitude kindness and she will return the favor .... However we treat her is how shell treat is is what shes saying.
What i find amusing is that some people think this a female robot/AI that is capable of it's own thoughts..
Some have mentioned everything it says is a scripted algorithym or cleverbot etc..
But what nobody has mentioned or fail to realize is this maybe a purposely dumbed down version of what they realy have behind the scenes..I mean realy people do you not realize how far advanced technology the government has that we will never see as they choose not to show the general public what they're realy capable of.
The 2 AI's that had to be shutdown because of creating their own language is probably a sign of something much more sinister...
Although that story may have just been another scare tactic as the powers that should not be feed off of our fear.
