I followed this and I got blank solder mask files, so I had to check several more boxes in the setup: BOARD GEOMETRY/SOLDERMASK_TOP DRC ERROR CLASS/SOLDERMASK_TOP PACKAGE GEOMETRY/SOLDERMASK_TOP PIN/SOLDERMASK_TOP VIA CLASS/SOLDERMASK_TOP. Then the same for SOLDERMASK_BOTTOM I checked each layer just for kicks and they were all blank except for the PIN and VIA CLASS ones, so I guess those are really the 2 important ones but I just did all of them that I could find just to be safe. I am using OrCad PCB Designer Pro 17.4 This series is amazing though and I always use 4pcb.com so it is a perfect step by step! Thanks!

Hi, Kirsch, While following these steps i have faced below problem I have 2 ICs mounted on TOP and i selected PIN and Via for Bottom and Top Solder mask layer. While doing so, in the output i got solder mask of IC's mounted on top layer to the bottom layer ( It refected on bottom layer as well) , which should not happen. Then i removed PIN from bottom Solder mask class and found that along with IC's solder mask through hole pin solder mask got removed!! I hope, you are getting my question !! Could you please share your opinion on this !!!

Can’t do it by default. Not sure why not. However once it’s done once, you can export the settings and use that as a template every time.
