Would definitely advise checking to see what sort of cylinder you have first before attempting to drill, you wouldn’t stand a change if you were drilling a 3 star cylinder

Since it's easy for a burglar to snap a handle and gain access to a cylinder, do you think it would be a good idea to weld the outside handle to the door instead of letting it be fixed by screws? Provided that you can still change the cylinder when needed by removing the plate that's on the inside of the door and then removing the cylinder from the inside.
If its a double euro cylinder instead of a thumbturn, then you can't remove the cylinder without a key, drilling or picking it /locksmith @@jodeerans5137
You can pick a euro lock but it takes A LOT of time and skill. barrel pins etc make it a pain in the ass. For the sake of a £5 lock cylinder it isn't worth the time/money

Do you use the same size drill bit from start to finish?
You could use a thinner drill as a pilot hole first , then use bigger drill if you only have cheap drill bits like me 😁
