I have lived in Denmark, specifically in Roskilde, for the past 7 years. I still do the "tourist" walk every once in a while. When I have friends visiting, I'll repeat my favourite routes 🙂Going out of Copenhagen can be quite difficult as most have a short stay or coming for a conference. And YES, Copenhagen can be quite expensive if you are coming from Malaysia, or from Asia in general. So, I won't take them to Torvehallerne for sure but they still have to try smørrebrød. Oh yes, I normally said no to Copenhagen cards and tried to push them to walk around the city, as it offers more things to see than the darkness of the metro tunnel.

If i want a cheap holiday i would not go to copenhagen, turkey would be more of a choice then. I am going to copenhagen because it is a iconic city, to experience the culture, see historic sites and just have fun and the food of course. Quote "Food is not just something to be savoured, it is a gateway to your host countries culture." Thank you for you videos they are very helpful!

Would love to see recommendations on day trips or areas outside of the city center.

Awesome to hear - I am currently working on several. Thanks for watching, Amanda!

On top of my head: Roskilde (There are the cathedral, where many of the Danish kings and Queens are buried, and of course the viking ship museum down by the water.), Helsingør (or Elsinore, the home town of Hamlet (At Kronborg, and just a walk around the city centre, with all the old, half timbered buildings, the cathedral of Saint Mary's, and of course (if you are feeling daring: a trip over Øresund to Helsingborg in Sweden! ;) )), and try to visit Lejre (There they have the open air museum of The Land of Legends, where they cover stone age (The Mesolithic period) (STONE age, not stoner age ... That was more likely to be in Christiania in Copenhagen. Though not any more! ^^ ) all the way to star of Medieval age).

@@luffegasen7711 Thank you so much!! May I ask why Sweden requires daring? Is just because of the boarder crossing? I have seen Malmo recommended as a day trip in a few forums.

It's just a little Sweden bashing! Sweden and Denmark have had the most wars up though history! So now we just make fun of each other! ^^
But yeah ... Malmø is also an option! Malmø Hus (The old fortress, which is now a museum), Turning Torso (A tall building that looks like it have been twisted by the hands of God!).
And remember the Scandinavia "Drinking Chain": Norwegians and Swedes go to Denmark for the cheap beer! While Danes go to Germany for even cheaper beer! ^^

Sorry I don't need the stress that comes with the bicycle rules and aggressive cyclists - just walking and/or using the excellent public transport was fine for me

Haha, understandable! That's another reason Copenhagen is awesome, you have several different ways to get around - easily, quickly and cheaply. Thanks for watching!

It seems the Copenhagen Card calculator will show just the ticket fees for 2-3 attractions, but if you add more it will add the price of a City Pass Large, even if all those attractions are in Copenhagen. Quite non-transparent and definitely likely to mislead lots of people.

That would make sense. Really seems like something they should be more clear about. Thanks for watching!

If you enjoy museums, like really enjoy looking at all the exhibits and reading all the plaques the city cards are always a rip off. They have no value unless you are rushing.

The second mistake tourists make is listening to advice. Don't do that.
