What do i do about People who somehow lag only when im the one comboing? I just fought a mirror dragunov matchup but somehow everytime i got himinto a combo it started lagging
I'm a scrub. When do you do forward forward 3 for combo? Or for that matter, when to use ewgf? I guess I don't have enough knowledge of the characters to know when to do stuff
To give a brief explanation, you do ff3 after you knock them down because it has a slow start up and you need space to do it. Ewgf you mostly use as keep out or to launch your opponent if they whiff something close to you
If ur low rank just spam hellsweep then if he blocks use ff3. Ewfg is plus on block(meaning safe even blocked) in" just frame " input as long as they dont duck it.
Ewgf is your 14 frame launch on block. Its main use is as a launch in neutral! The baby basics of getting a launch like that is 2 things: 1. Using movement (back dashing and side stepping) to created a wiff then punish with ewgf. 2. learn when your opponent tends to use his slow mid and then put out ewgf as a read! Important note when attacking on a read doing a move BEFORE your opponents move comes out is very vital. Good luck out there!
I'm glad to see similar kazuya dead ends in your gameplay (2nd match with Leo) where, characters like Leo/xiayo/ azucenia, etc, I feel like I run out of challenge options and just have to throw lows out there (even if they've caught on and are blocking them) cause they have moves that super duck highs and my mids aren't fast/respectable enough to keep them honest. Db3, f3, df11/12 feel like all I've got, unless I play the most ridiculous movement/read Tekken I've ever played, then SOMETIMES my electric lands (if it's not getting auto ducked by a weirdly animated launching mid or blocked cause they decided not to mash anymore and just wait for me to throw a low)
I’m a Kazuya main as well. Definitely struggle with the EWGF. Is it easier to do one on the fight stick? I also wonder about how durable my controller is while I play Tekken lmao. I want to be able to play other games too 😂
I’m practicing wavedashing - when I try to go into a ff3 I end up doing a running sprint kick instead of ff3, any ideas why this is? After the crouchdash I press ff3 but I think pressing ff makes me go into sprint and then I press 3
After your df input when wave dashing follow up with the f3 input while holding down f. The game registers the crouch dash as a forward input thats why u were essentially pressing forward thrice making you run
@@K1DPUNK_ mishima's take some work to play, especially Kazuya. And especially if its your first tekken. But don't worry it's definitely doable, I started with Kazuya in 7 because he is just so cool. You're gonna lose a lot at first because you can't just bang your head on your controller and make useful things happen like a lot of other characters (especially with kazuya, he doesn't have any goofy strings that work past beginner ranks). But you will get there. And imo mishimas are by far the most rewarding tekken characters to play. Just a bumpy road, enjoy the process and accept that you will lose a lot before you become good. If you're gonna play mishima's, try to keep your gameplan simple at first and just add to it a little at a time. I'll use Kazuya as an example cuz I know him better. Just start with 112 - you can just throw out 11 to check the opponent and only hit the 2 if you see the 11 hit. A pretty easy hit-confirm, you can practice by setting the training dummy to block random Ff2 - his demon paw heat engager very long range mid, uh idk MK terms to contextualize it. But this is an amazing tool they gave him in 8 that will catch people crouching or approaching you. Hellsweep/cd1/f n d df41 - that one might take some practice. (The input ends in 4,4 or 4,1+2 for DJ I think.) It's an extremely strong knockdown low, very risky though. You can honestly play with just those 3 moves at the start. Both Kaz and DJ have those moves. Next with Kazuya learn to use Df2 - very good and quick 14f mid counterhit crumple launcher, though punishable if they block it. F4 - gives you +4 on block so if they mash anything, your df2 will beat it and crumple launch them. Or can also check them with 112 after (hit confirming the 11). Once you train them to stop mashing after blocking f4, then you can apply a mixup via ff2/ff3/f4 (mids) or hellsweep/db4/d1+2 (lows). Db4 - a chunky low that gives you +4 on hit. Same deal as F4 being blocked Ff4 - demon steel pedal, hits players who stay on the ground after you knock them down. Ff3 - a more rewarding but slightly harder to apply mid option than ff2. At close range after a knockdown, use this as your mid option for your mixup instead of ff2. Its a really really good move just harder to use at first than ff2 And you can play with just those moves theoretically, that's like the baseline of Kazuya's kit. Next, you practice movement a little bit every day (wavedash, backdash cancels, sidestepping and sidewalking, movement is important with mishimas and feels super good when you get good at wavedash), practice trying to throw electrics every day, and really spam movement in matches even if it feels useless, because that's how you'll get used to it. Same with electrics once you get the hang of those in training, use them way too often in matches then you'll eventually be able to use them at will when it's a good idea to. Other good moves to incorporate with Kaz eventually: d1+2, ff1+2, ff3, f3, electrics, mainman probably has a guide Also do punishment training, 112 is a good go-to punishment tool. And ws12 twin pistons is a great punishment tool from crouching. If any terms I said don't make sense, look them up, and again just learn a little bit at a time and have fun. Learning Kazuya as a complete beginner was so so much fun in 7. When you start winning matches and getting into the flow with a mishima, it's just the best feeling. And if you can play 1 mishima you can play all the others at a basic level, so that's a fun bonus. Oh one more tip, just watch good players play your character and see what they do and what the flow of gameplay is like
You need to learn to cancel 3,1 instad wavedash for land the launch. He haves a video explaining this. GL im now in battle ruler landing this combo and helps me so much :)
Cuz recording in anything higher is expensive, makes the video take way longer to process, and most people are on mobile so it wouldn’t matter anyways.
Indeed, just like the mid-high reversals, you can't parry certain attacks, such as weapons attacks (the Victory knife), knees, etc. basically any attacks that aren't straight punches or kicks
I really like Victor aesthetics (besides him being cringe; just like the swiss army knife style of combat), but I'm waiting till they at least fix his throw bc it feels simply unfair playing him
that azucena plus frame moves is annoying need someone to teach me how to avoid this and be more aggressive with bryan. I tend to be defensive and it doesn't work. ;(@@weggespenst
I think that TMM will struggle a lot with this outdated playstyle, going for ff3, ff2 and electric constantly while holding back for the majority of the game doesn't seem to work when all character can bombard Kazuya with +6 mid homing moves, every time he does that he loses the match even against scrubs, when he start to press and throw ws12 and df2 unprompted he wins. Kazuya is probably the character that benefit the most with the AGGRESSIVE™ Tekken 8 style, since he has basically no tools if compared on an even ground with other characters, like even ff2 which is supposed to be is best new move can get you killed since it has almost 0 tracking and recovers slow enough to get launched, so more than ff2 i think that his best friend is ws4 into df4 to keep the opponent in check. Also the "masku tech" is probably really overrated, if the ff4 mix is going to kill then its good, but going always for wall carry to limit the opponent defensive options and keep playing on the offense its the best scenario for Kazuya, whats the point of doing a little bit more damage if then the opponent gets up in the middle of the stage and its free to sidestep and launch 90% of Kazuya stuff? Assuming the ff4 doesn't get blocked and the combo gets wasted
Kazuya’s tracking is absolutely terrible, I have to rely on b4 a lot - I’m not quite at a good wavedashing level yet so I’m getting side stepped a lot lol

Normally i hold forward and it works 100% of the time, if that doesnt work check commands and see if anythings wrong with it

Movement or ducking. Mostly plus frame moves are for frametraps. If they dont jail you can try backdash or sidestep/ sidewalk after
