Why don't they give at least the window air conditioners for people that don't have them in this kind of heat. I know in Oregon low-income people get free Window air conditioners from the city or state. Especially low income elderly.
where? live in oregon, have friends that are both low income and elderly and none can find these magically free air conditioners.......nor do any local agencies seem to know either so....since you seem to know about it who is giving them out and where?

The trick ive found with living in a hot as hell area, get up and get out before the sun so your body adjusts throughout the day rather than put it in shock by taking it from 80° to 105°.
I have a plastic swimming pool, and if I cool off when it gets hot and two other times. Also, drinking lots of fluids.
I just be a man and go out no matter what

People who THINK they are strong swimmers because they can do a few laps in a pool, need to LEARN to RESPECT the OCEAN. It doesn't play.
Getting caught in a riptide is dangerous, but doesn't need to be deadly. Schools should teach every pupil how to survive when getting caught in a riptide (basically you do not swim against the current .. instead, you swim sideways / parallel with the coast .. until you escape the riptide)

My Scot parents sold their house and moved into a new apartment. They never turned on the air conditioner. When automobile manufacturers first made air conditioners, they could make people pass out, people being killed after passing out behind the wheel. However, without mentioning Rattlesnake Point, if you're going to get an air conditioner get one that recycles interior air. It uses less refrigerant. The design of cooling hot exterior air was intended to use military surplus and keep their manufacture subsidized by residential product. And learn to play funk bass and make a break for it.

I agree. Every school should teach riptide safety. Nobody should be allowed in the water until they know how to survive a riptide (basically you swim parallel to the coast until you escape / but then, I suspect you already know this)

These beach communities and states need to be pushing for and encouraging people to use life vest when swimming in the ocean. I never hear one word of this. This boggles my mind.
Attention if you want to swim in the sea you need to use a life vest. The ocean has strong currents all over, it is the nature of water. WHY, HOW, can there not be a push or even a law for life vest usage. It is so simple and easy and guess what it makes swimming in the strong ocean much easier and it could save your life!
👍or a non-inflatable swim buoy.
Or simply teach your children how to survive a riptide. Basically you swim parallel to the coast, instead of against the current .. until you escape the riptide
@@ashleywilson2072 that can work, but you can still get exhausted & if you recover by floating on your back, then you may still have problems returning to shore having to navigate the breaking waves. Swimming in rough water is difficult.
