    Eve!! I’m also the type of learner who spends hours taking notes and really trying to understand the concepts because I can’t just do the problem or accept the answer as it is; I need to know why it’s that way. I’m happy you touched on the aspect of people who only study for like 2hrs and are able to grasp a topic. Sometimes I get stuck watching “efficient studying” vids that are against deep learning and in-depth note taking but whenever I speed through my texts it just feels hollow and I know I won’t learn the full thing. I love your advice which was that the end of the day everyone is different and the best thing is to just do what works for you. Absolutely loveee your vids!!!❤💻⌨️

      I literally spent years trying all these other techniques because everybody told me my method was dumb and a waste of time. But I swear, I've only aced classes in which I took the time to read the books 🥲
      I just wish people would stop spreading the myth that these slower-paced techniques are worthless. If your brain NEEDS deep learning, then that's what it needs, and anything else you'll try won't work as well. I think it's fine to try and add implement other techniques on top of what you know works for you, but it's definitely a mistake to try replacing deep learning with other surface learning techniques!

    It's definitely the type of video I was waiting for... eve, the way you told every single thing in the video is truly incredible and I can very much relate on the type of study worked for an individual doesn't mean to be fitted for others as well. Ahh! this one is sooo hard to accept. I remember to spend hours after my lecture on a topic but on the other hand some of my colleagues scored the same grades [ahm, even better;)] by just reading it for few hours before the exam. It's really hard to accept the type of student and the learning form that I can grasp but, ik it'll work out in future. Thankyou sooo much eve for this one... loadsssss of loveeee

    • @e_velog

      I feel like the internet makes it so much harder to accept. I know my grandma studied exactly like I did when she was attending med school, and ACED all of her classes. No one made her feel like she was wasting her time back then. But since the study community moved on from the "really pretty notes" phase of the mid 2010's, it became trendy to hate on taking notes 🥲
      Honestly, it sucks to be that kind of student because as you said, you see people around you doing so much better while barely studying, but know that you're not alone in your struggles 🫶🏻

      ya, i gave up atp. i thought a few people could relate to this, which is why i REALLY wanted to address this in the video. I know I'm just one person on the internet VS all these other people promoting "more efficient" study techniques, but I thought at least one person may need to hear that they are not alone. As dumb as it sounds, sometimes, that's all you need to hear to finally accept your reality 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@e_velog Sometimes I don't understand why they make us write code. Yes, by writing stuff down it's easier to memorize, but shouldn't code be something you get better by practicing.
      It might be me only, but I think writing code is unnecessary these days, especially when at the end students just straight up ask ChatGPT for the code. By implementing code, it is better understable...

    Hey Eve, just wanted to say that ur vlogs are sooo movivating I literally watch at least 4 or 5 each day
    I am that type of learner who needs to go through the information at least 5 times before the exam, and it sucks considering the amount of lecture I have
    Is there a way to help me out?😢

    • @e_velog
      @e_velog  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      is it possible you try to go through your lectures too quickly? i used to do that since i saw all my classmates covering the material so quickly, but i realized that i need to really analyze & process new info as i read it otherwise it doesn't stick. i'd suggest slowing down, and not trying to memorize everything per day, but instead focus on understanding how everything works together as a whole. Then, once you have the "big picture" idea, you can focus on memorization, if that is required of you. hope that helps!

      For me, a planner only works if it can be in front of me at all times, so I like a lay-flat weekly planner. That way, I can see my entire week at a glance and be constantly reminded of what I need to do. It's exactly why I love making a big list of everything I need to do and stick it to my wall - it helps me with following through with my plans.
      This is kinda why I don't use apps. For me, they add friction as I have to make the decision of clicking on the app to see what I have to do. I'm working on an app that'll hopefully address that though.
