Robin Trower's 20th Century Blues Album and Tour, Top 5 easily . Regardless, Awesome footage! This where TH-cam serves a wonderful purpose. Being able to see the likes of Robin Trower and his bands, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Alvin Lee, James Marshall Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Ronnie Montrose and many more sharing and show their God Giving Talents. As much as their names are the face of their music, all the supporting bandmates that help bring it all together for me/us. I give thanx of gratitude for their contributions and helping provide the joy of listen and memories of live music for our souls. I have seen many but did not get to see them all. (Yes, that's a 'period') This man is one of the greatest humans to ever pick up a Strat. Again, period. As a guitar player myself- I sincerely hope to be doing what he is doing at his age, and with as much savey! Absolutely FUN!

I got to meet him twice after 2 concerts & the guy is a real down to earth person who signed my t shirts I bought at the concerts plus both of my concert ticket stubs and gave me some guitar picks so how cool is that . This was at the Fitzgerald theater in 2008 in MN so when I got to talk to him I asked where he was going next & he said to a blues fest in Canada then was going home to England after to relax a bit then hit the studio for new music he was going to record for a new album . Been listening to him since the early days of Procol harem then as a solo artist for years .

I was a freshman in '73 at a small college in Nebraska when Bridge of Sighs broke....and Robin quickly became my MAIN MAN on the guitar....along with Frank Marino and J. Walsh. Saw them all, and saw Robin probably 5 or 6 times....beginning when he had Dewar on bass / vocals and Reg Isadore on drums. That band really moved this song along. Saw them later with Davey Pattison on vocals....that may have been in the 90's. God Bless Robin Trower. BTW, this band he's got here is damn good.....that drummer....who I don't know....is funky and obviously enjoys playing. I'd love to see him/them one more time at least. C'mon Robin....make it to Tucson once more, please! PS....I STILL have my orig. Bridge of Sighs green album in the closet next to me here in '22. You know, I oughtta break it out and give it a spin....don'tcha think?? jbeinarizona

Holy shit, I was at that Zep Concert in Cincy! I lived in Covington /Park Hills KY back then.I remember taking this girl to the show who had on a back brace from a car accident she had a week before. I remember outta _nowhere_ the crowd started slowly compressing together, and Cathy (my date) was getting squeezed, which hurt her back. I managed to get directly behind her and put my hands on her hips to hopefully use my arms as shock absorbers. It kinda worked, but there were a few waves of crush that pinned me against her in spite of my efforts; I remember her screaming in pain, and I remember not screaming at all because I was getting my lungs crunched. Scared the everlasting, almighty _shit_ outta me. Thankfully they must have got more doors open, or something, because the pressure suddenly let off.
      That was hella scary.
Riverfront Coliseum, yeah, let's _save money_ by not opening enough doors, and _then_ let's play Led Zep over the external speakers so people will think the show has started and RUN TO GET IN!!_
      Un freaken real.

Trower is an aquiered taste and almost everyone doesn't appreciate him. Just the few of us scattered all over the world. All one has to do is listen to the video above to see how phenomenal he is. I continue to buy his albums but wish he would come closer to where I live.

I believe he was more appreciated in the 70's, not sure why. I'm 63, 1st heard him in 10th grade, 1974 and was immediately enfatuated. Awesome talent and James Dewar was a killer rock/blues singer, right up there with Duane Allman. I've enjoyed Claptons music for decades going back to my 1st exposure, Blind Faith. But, I'll never und er stand why he was perceived as a guitar God while Trower never really got the recogbition, disapointing

1975 "Bridge of Sighs". But it did have that 1969 vibe to it. To me he did the " Hendrix" thing without ripping him off. It seemed to be an extension of that style of playing. He did some cool stuff with Procol Harem too.

@@tomdecuca3627 One year earlier , It was 1974 when the LP came out. You are spot on about him not trying to copy or rip off Jimi's sound he never needed to ,it was just one of several influences . Saw Robin in 69 with Procol & twice with his first two line ups. The man is one hell of a player & as nice as anyone you would want to meet. Just listen any interview he's always polite & very humble. As a player myself Robin has been an influence as he has for so many . I would share a bit of my own work if you are interested . Please feel free to leave a comment on my post if you wish.. To Robin- I’ve been listening to your music ever since Bridge of Sighs first came out… it is *so* good to see you still kickin’ and playing some mean guitar after all of these years! Music (old and not so old) is a big part of my life… thank you for being part of that story. 👍😀

One of my first guitar heroes. Pretty much wore out my "Bridge of Sighs" LP playing along. A buddy of mine worked at San Jose Guitar Center for a short time with Rustee Allen. Never got to talk to him about his time with Trower. Anway, Trower is so soulful! Still love to hear those riffs and his soloing.
