    I am a Welshman and I was so impressed with the Fiji team's attitude and responses to officiating throughout the game. Utterly dignified and composed showing from Simon Raiwalui - certain coaches and Sporting Directors should take note.
    Everyone who watched the game KNOWS that the officiating on this occasion was both inconsistent and embarassingly unbalanced. But sadly, complaining will not undo the injustice.
    By FAR the best performance by a losing side in this World Cup - and now I (as an England supporter) will be hoping for Fiji to get a result against the Aussies on Sunday - they REALLY deserve to progress in this competition.
    No doubt in my mind that Semi and Waisea are now the most exciting and destructive Centre combo in World rugby - and it will be nothing short of a sporting tragedy if they go no further in this competition.

    • @MorAodhan
      @MorAodhan ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bad officiating should always be called out and addressed. Otherwise the problem will not stop. The sport is already dying, poor officiating will just bury it sooner

    • @mikegray8776
      @mikegray8776 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MorAodhan Agreed - but when you have coaches like Rassie or Eddie making complaints strategically (ie to AFFECT the outcome of the next game or two) the whole thing becomes a joke.
      Anyone with one functioning eye could see that the officiating was desperately unbalanced and game-changing - even chalking-off a perfectly good Fijian try to award a penalty TO Fiji !!!
      Matt Carley should get NO more games this WC - and arguably for a long time beyond.
      But it is up to the huge numbers of “support officials” to stamp out these inconsistencies - not for decent guys like Rawalui or Farrell - OR wide-boys like Rassie or Eddie to be pitched, in after it is too late to make any difference.

      What is the point of that? The ref is trying to do their job as are the players. Just like players they can have good and bad games. Should the coach point out every time one of the opposition players has a bad game? Or for that matter, when one of their own has? No, that's not for press conferences. Performances can be reviewed and conclusions can be drawn by those that can actually change it (e.g. a coach talking to their player or the people responsible for refs at IRB to those refs)
      Dragging this out into the public - right after a game at that - is both pointless and creates a needlessly negative atmosphere for everyone.

      @@quentinquentin6752 I have played and watched rugby for 60 years, its the greatest sport around. Believe me Wales have suffered with poor refereing decisions multiple times over the years. England had Curry red carded for exactly the same tackle as a Boks player yesterday who didn't even get a yellow. Its not Wales fault that the ref was inept but he also missed a blatant forward off load in one of the Fiji tries too. In rugby what goes around comes around, if you don't realise that you are being naive. All this complaining about officials has come about since that shocking Rassie video, he should have been banned from rugby forever in my opinion. People need to stop complaining and get on with the game. Fiji are a credit to the game and they were very unlucky as much as Wales were lucky but I would love them to win all their other games in the group including OZ.

Surprised none of the reporters asked how much missing Muntz at 10 might have affected the outcome, but I would have expected a “next man up” kind of reply in any case.
