I catch glimpses of you in motor trend videos like the most recent dirt every day. Small world that I found you on this channel before you started to film for them.
Yup! I'm glad to be working with those guys, I learn a bunch and have a good time. I find it cool that it's such a big "small world" in the automotive videos as well!
SWEET RIDE BRO! My wife is a mustang NUT!! I found your build and really like it. Awesome work and keep going. We are waiting for the rest of the build. I'm here if you need a hand will come and work for you FREE of charge just to see it finished! TY for all the videos
I was just checking the other day if you had a recent upload and was disappointed when you didn't. Glad to see you've been busy, enjoying your videos :)
Man, to those of us 71-73 owners, you are very much appreciated. The rear suspension and rack n pinion would probably not be a thing for these cars without you, at least not yet. Sorry but I am stealing your wheel/tire setup :p
LOL, thanks very much for the kind words. I'm glad you like the wheels and would think it's great if you went that way! Make sure to at least check out etmags.com first and tell them Large Marge sent you!
I am following along with my 67 Conv. and took your advice for TCP coil overs, Wilwood brakes and the Flaming River steering and Rack & Pinion system - appreciate your videos
Awesome as always. So much trick stuff on this car I can't wait to see it finished...LOVE this build series! Every time there is an update I wish I had another project to work on! lol
Jason, I have used the TCP rack set up before, but it was first gen stuff. It looks like they have sorted out some of the issues I dealt a few years ago. Car is looking killer!
she is looking beautiful man and you are using the best parts on the market I can't tell you how much I love this car you are doing a great job on bringing her back to life and to 2016 again thanks for another great video..
great video's man love what your doing with the car and everything your videos are gonna be so helpful in the future with my 73 mustang coupe once we start on it keep up the great work bro
Awesome videos man! I have a 71 and I'm in the process of trying to figure out what front suspension I want to go with. Why did you choose the TCP suspension vs something like Rod and Custom from suspension. I only ask because I figured at some point you had to make a decision on what kind of suspension you wanted to go with. Just looking for some insight from someone with experience.
I like that TCP didn't start with the geometry of the old Mustang II "A" arms. Their stuff is completely design from the start for fit and performance. Plus, I had bought stuff in the past from them and once I really like a vendor, I stay pretty loyal. Thanks for the comment!
excellent video. I have a 1973 mustang mach 1 hope one day I can modify the suspension also would be nice if you were like in the neighborhood. keep up with those helpfull videos.
I thought about it but the engineer at TCP tells me that the rack and pinion becomes a structural part of the crossmember and I trust him. I'll do plenty of reports on how it does once it's on the road, so we'll see together.
wow..I have a mustang myself trying to figure out how to get that drag race sound...I have a 5.0..any advice? 302...1973 mustang....I just want that sound like my car is going to turn off..I know is not a big block but I know I can get it some what close enough 😆
Hey man! I'm glad to see you working on the 'stang again! It's funny, I actually own a WJ too and was a little bummed to see you upgrade. I mean, good for you, but bad for me since I want get to see you do cool stuff to the WJ. lol Anyhow, I can't wait to see your ride at car shows. From looks of it, I'm guessing you're somewhere in the Antelope Valley, no?
I'm actually over the hill in Santa Clarita but good call on that. Sometimes I really miss my WJ and wonder if I should've built that up but I'm already heading down this path so we'll see where it leads! Best to you!
Hey, I dont blame you. If I could afford a JK I'd definitely get it. My girlfriend used to live in Palmdale, so it all looked a bit too familiar. lol I'm in L.A. though, so I hope to see you around some car shows if you ever make it down here. The Petersen is supposed to have a Ford "Breakfast Club" meet at the end of July.
+autoedit Not sure if u watch any of the shows they have on TH-cam and motor trend on demand ur build videos are right on par with their shows and would fit right in!
hey on my car (which is now my dad's) he wants to do airbag suspension. I was thinking we could fabricate and swap a coil spring suspension 8.8 inch ford into the rear to replace the 8 inch. and swap the coils for airbags. we also have a built 351w and 4 speed going into it.
That sounds like a good way to go but building a cradle strong enough to mount the control arms will be tricky... Good luck and have fun with that install!
autoedit yeah. We are welding in thick cross members across the rear subframe, thicker pieces to the front subframe. And making a custom subframe connector/rocker panel connector girdle that runs thick square tubing along the inner rocker panel and cross members across where the front and rear subframe meets the rocker panels. I could run a cross member with mounts for the control arms for wherever they need to mount.
We have notice that the first gen Mustang use suck thin metal in the frames. So that's why I'm doing all this welding to make it as rigid as a steel girder.
A few years ago I kicked down and bought a little wireless microphone lavalier kit for $200. It's a Senheiser e100 and I use it for everything...seemed like a lot of $$'s at the time but it's been a workhorse.
If you wanted the front end to go down, wouldn't putting the engine and transmission to make it squat down a little? I'm just wondering, not questioning your work and jeep look great 👍
Really great production value and the fact that you're building this car exactly the way I want to build my 68' makes it really enjoyable and informative to watch. I love Roadkill Garage for entertainment value but love the deeper dive of a show like yours in the hows and whys of the things you are doing. Maybe you should have a show on TEN instead of just filming them :) From a Canadian fan!
Hey, at least you have one!!! You keep tinkering and enjoying yours...just has to make you happy and make a long term plan to upgrade stuff when you can!
+autoedit well over the course of 6-5 months I rebuilt the 302, just the top end, head job that took way long, a new cam, and roller rockers. I just get smiles to the gallon now tho. I feel like I did good for 16. but ive got a striped thread in the block so the oil pan ain't as tight as it needs to be. and a tiny intake leak. it's really frustrating. your videos really give me something to kinda look up to tho.
I am getting conflicting advice on the need for a booster that mounts behind the Wilwood master cylinder - since I have not driven the car yet I dont know if the pedal pressure is adequate without it - some guys and Wilwood say it is - but most finished cars have the booster - your thoughts
The components you choose for your brake system decide whether or not you NEED a booster. The size of your calipers at the wheels and the size of the master cylinder/brake pedal stroke and leverage all factor in. You must plan your brake system carefully on what you want in the end. I designed this system to run without the booster...not ideal for street use because it will have a firm pedal that requires moderate pressure to stop... but I'll make it work. In my 82 Camaro, I tried using the Wilwood tandem master cylinder without the booster and it was miserable so I put a stock style firewall vacuum booster in and it was awesome.
Oh Man just a 302 I guess if your looking for light weight that's the ticket, I personally would have gone 351w with out a super charger, It looks like you have some TV Training and that you could have your own show.
autoedit I have to say I'm a little bit paranoid about the engine you said it was a junkyard engine and you didn't do a full rebuild so that worries me
I really admire your skill-level with doing projects that aren't bolt-in/on. Great video like always, Jason!
Thanks so much!
What an underrated channel. Such quality content my friend!
Wow Thanks!
Agree

Your killin me everything I wanna do to my 73 thanks for featuring this year!!
It's been along time coming, and she's coming together beautifully
Thanks dude! It's a long slow process but I'm glad to still be moving forward on it.
I was just checking the other day if you had a recent upload and was disappointed when you didn't. Glad to see you've been busy, enjoying your videos :)
Glad to see Large Marge coming along. What a killer build.
Thanks Dude!

+autoedit Will do.
Good job man, this is the exact setup I’m going to go with for my suspension when I finally have the resources to start building
Awesome build! Love the variety! Jeep stuff is cool but there is something so Murica about watching the process of this build! Great work!
It's awesome to hear encouraging words from friends here on the you tubes, so thanks!
I am following along with my 67 Conv. and took your advice for TCP coil overs, Wilwood brakes and the Flaming River steering and Rack & Pinion system - appreciate your videos
Wow, that is so AWESOME to hear! That is exactly what makes doing these videos so rewarding!!! Thanks so much!
IM SO HAPPY YOU PUT A MUSTANG VIDEO UP! SHE LOOKS AMAZING. I BET SHE DRIVES AMAZING TOO. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXR VIDEO!
Man does she sit nice now. Once the engine is dropped in the ride height in front should be right where you want it...GREAT JOB!
Awesome as always. So much trick stuff on this car I can't wait to see it finished...LOVE this build series! Every time there is an update I wish I had another project to work on! lol
Ah, thanks a bunch... glad to hear that it makes you want to tinker on stuff too!
Jason, I have used the TCP rack set up before, but it was first gen stuff. It looks like they have sorted out some of the issues I dealt a few years ago. Car is looking killer!
Thanks for the heads up.
Large Marge is almost ready to be in charge.LOL Love the build cant wait for the next video lookin good.
Thanks so much!
she is looking beautiful man and you are using the best parts on the market I can't tell you how much I love this car you are doing a great job on bringing her back to life and to 2016 again thanks for another great video..
Thanks so much!
Am I the only one getting really anxious to see the engine getting mounted ?! xD
Using all these videos to guide my 70-71 Torino mods. They are very similar in construction
Awesome to hear! I love the Torino... sometimes wish I had one.
Large Marge is awesome! Great build and cool video. Thanks a lot for sharing all this info. I wish my Maverick and I can put it to use soon.
As you know, I love the Mavericks! Thanks
dude that mustang looks awsome you still have the camaro
Ive missed these videos!
Me too! Thanks for hanging in there.
Good videos always makes me go out and work on my car.
great video's man love what your doing with the car and everything your videos are gonna be so helpful in the future with my 73 mustang coupe once we start on it keep up the great work bro
LOOKS GREAT AND LOTS OF COOL MODERN PARTS
Great video as always! Glad to see Large Marge off of jack stands
YES! Me too!!! Thank you!
You're killing it bro. Great work.
Appreciate that, Thanks!
I like to see that you are repping one of those Finnegan speed and marine shirts. Big thumbs up here!
I was wondering when someone was going to call out the FSM shirt!!! Nice one!

that makes sense why the daily drivers have it and the show cars or Sunday cars don't. thanks again
the brake line plumbing is beautiful
Thanks very much!
Shaft? Rod? Double D? Rack? lol, best video ever! :) I love the look of Marge out in the Sun. ttyl -Drew
LOL! Yup, it was all I could do to keep a straight face during that section.
Hope you are doing well my friend!
excellent video. I have a 1973 mustang mach 1 hope one day I can modify the suspension also would be nice if you were like in the neighborhood. keep up with those helpfull videos.
Great vid as usual buddy. Keep up the great work
Thanks dude, I'll try!
Looking forward to more videos!
Love this build so far! Have you considered boxing the crossmember that you chopped up to add some of the rigidity back into it?
I thought about it but the engineer at TCP tells me that the rack and pinion becomes a structural part of the crossmember and I trust him. I'll do plenty of reports on how it does once it's on the road, so we'll see together.
Looks amazing , you going to chrome out the fit and finish?
I'll probably leave it like that until after I drive it for a while and dial it in!
Thanks so much!
Out of curiosity, why did you not use the fabricated rear? Just noticed it!
wow..I have a mustang myself trying to figure out how to get that drag race sound...I have a 5.0..any advice? 302...1973 mustang....I just want that sound like my car is going to turn off..I know is not a big block but I know I can get it some what close enough 😆
How is cutting out a significant amount of your frame support cross member ever a good idea?
What great project! And so week documented. Awesome.
What wheels are those?
The stance of that mustang looks fantastic!, do you know if TCP make any suspension/steering parts for the early to mid 70's Torinos?
Howdy dude! I'm pretty sure you can find something for that thing from them!
Hey man! I'm glad to see you working on the 'stang again! It's funny, I actually own a WJ too and was a little bummed to see you upgrade. I mean, good for you, but bad for me since I want get to see you do cool stuff to the WJ. lol

that is one beautiful mustang.
I always watch ur jeep video this video is right up there with them awesome car!! Motor trend should give u a show!!
I'm going to forward this over to my boss... let's see what happens! lol
+autoedit Not sure if u watch any of the shows they have on TH-cam and motor trend on demand ur build videos are right on par with their shows and would fit right in!
I actually work on the web show Dirt Every Day so I'm very familiar with those guys... thanks so much for the thought!
+autoedit dirt everyday with Fred Williams is my favorite show!! Followed by roadkill and head to head
Can't wait to see the engine in the car, do you still think you'll be able to run the stock hood with the blower?
hey on my car (which is now my dad's) he wants to do airbag suspension. I was thinking we could fabricate and swap a coil spring suspension 8.8 inch ford into the rear to replace the 8 inch. and swap the coils for airbags. we also have a built 351w and 4 speed going into it.

What is your plan with this Mustang 1/4 Mile Drags or Road Racing?
Would it not be a good idea to use some locktite for the locking screews on the u-joints?
Probably wouldn't hurt at all.
PS, what do you use for your voice recording equipment? It sounds super clear
A few years ago I kicked down and bought a little wireless microphone lavalier kit for $200. It's a Senheiser e100 and I use it for everything...seemed like a lot of $$'s at the time but it's been a workhorse.
Does the Engine have to be out to do this or is it just easier to do with it out?
Just easier since I'm doing it on the garage floor.
@@AutoEdits okay i was going to do it in the drive way just dont want to pull the engine
Is there anywhere I could find an overall price quote for your build so far? minus the car, just parts
I was wondering when you were unbolting your suspension how did u get your seized nuts and bolts? Thanks
btw i have a 1970 mustang coupe project
I used wd40 and rust penetrating oil a few days prior to removal.
Very nice ride. Where do you get all the money for your projects?
You Tube videos of course... and the money tree that grows down the street. lol
damn that thing looks awesome
Thanks Dude!
hey brother, I'm waiting for more vids. especially of the jeep, since I have a 2016 wrangler sport
If you wanted the front end to go down, wouldn't putting the engine and transmission to make it squat down a little? I'm just wondering, not questioning your work and jeep look great 👍
Yes, you are right the engine will bring the front down a little so once that's in I look forward to "tweaking" that! Thanks so much!
:D I got a reply :D
You make some great content
Awesome 👍
Hey I like your wheels, can you give me specs on them please? Sizes and Offset!
th-cam.com/video/r6h_2oPQVBw/w-d-xo.html
@@AutoEdits Cool thanks!
have you already wired the car or just mounted the fuse panel?
Just have the fuse block mounted for now and will do some video on the wiring after I get the engine and transmission in.
Make more Jeep videos please! Either way keep up the great work.
Thanks, I have a good Jeep video coming up in the next couple of days!!!
Another great video.
Thank you!

what wheels are those?
+Robert W Those are ET Mags Mini light or LT 3's and they are the coolest!
I thought they were the LT3's...I am looking at putting the same wheels on my 66 chevelle I'm building.
And then use a electric steering pump, (more horse power) awesome video man
Thanks, never even thought about an electric pump...hmmm.
yea bro google it, looks in my opinion more realiable
ohh soo freaking jelious man. my 72 looks like some one stepped in crap compared to yours lol. I love your videos. please keep on making more.
Hey, at least you have one!!! You keep tinkering and enjoying yours...just has to make you happy and make a long term plan to upgrade stuff when you can!

You are too good at these videos. U would be perfect for Tv.
Well, ok fine... thanks!
man she looks beautiful already....
Why thanks! It's gonna be pretty good!
Are you Gona put under drive pulleys on also
Not at this time, going in just as it is.
Great videos!
Thanks!
I thought TCP made direct bolt on racks for Mustangs. have seen lots of videos on this. Just a few holes to drill.
They do for everything but the 71-73
@@AutoEdits oh I see... Cool
@@AutoEdits TCP seems popular upgrade. But there are others too. I was told to avoid Flaming River though
boy that bump steer nut sure looks like it would want some Loctite on it.
Yup, I'll use a nylock as a final lock nut!

Because it was fun as heck.
I miss the Camaro Z28- inspired me to buy my own 82. Where is she now?
I had to sell that thing a while back, was sad to see it go.
when we getting some new video one mustang

love the vids man, very helpful to!
Thanks, glad to hear that!
any new videos coming soon?
Sorry, work is crazy and I'm still waiting on clutch and flywheel to get here... kind of a bummer.
sweet stance
Thanks, I'm really liking it as well.
Aww yes, Large Marge!
You know it!!!
woohoo suspension and brakes are "done". Drivetrain is next right?
You Betcha!!!
autoedit I have to say I'm a little bit paranoid about the engine you said it was a junkyard engine and you didn't do a full rebuild so that worries me

Good spot! I was wondering if someone would notice that!
HELLO 1973
You Betcha!
Very nice junk LOL. Good job.
More jeep please!!

Great job, its gonna handle great when she is all done.
That's the plan anyway, Thanks!
